Lovely aircraft. My only flight in a small twin was in my flight instructor’s Aztec F. He was giving another pilot a refresher in the Aztec so I was asked if I wanted to tag along. I hopped in the back seat and away we went. The back seat was very comfortable with a ton of legroom and I enjoyed the really enjoyed the view. When we landed I told my instructor that if I ever was in the market for a nice twin the Aztec would be my first choice. He told me that an Aztec or even an Apache would be an excellent choice as they are very affordable and great to fly. Unfortunately medical reasons keep me from being a pilot on anything but a computer desk these days but I still dream of one day owning an Aztec.
Thank you for posting this video, stunning test flight, old school cluster panel with the black matte background is like a portal in time. I can only imagine what old aviators had to go through both taking off and landing.
Black matte background on the panel is especially effective when night flying. Nothing "old school" about that. Most affordable GA airplanes today have steam gauges. EFIS (electronic flight instrumentation systems) are so expensive, they often cost more than the price of a used Piper or Cessna single.
Back in 1988 there stood an old abandoned Aztec at Borlänge registered in Germany. The little I found out told me the owner was not coming back for it. Since then I always wondered what came out of that, the plane was in good condition but needed some engine overhaul.
That sound , I have been born with it. 😊.

Worked on Aztecs whenI they were new. Tough old birds.

The colours on this Aztec make me think it was owned by Ravenair at Liverpool airport U.K. at some time in the past

Yep, my 1963 Aztec is noisy inside, possibly due to the exhaust augmentor tubes; but with headphones not a problem
