Nice one Tony...Great atmosphere about the place, well done to all that took part , some good stalls there, only down side couldn't get a beer downstairs 😢
This is a wonderful event...my grandfather was a bricklayer of distinction and taught me the art.. . I still have his tools and use them to do odd tasks like 'pointing '. I am a South African, my one grandad Dutch and the other an Englishman!
You've got to to say that Charlie is a Olympian layer, all the guys coming for his crown, under all that pressure of being the victor last year, once again prevailed to victory..!!i salute you Charlie..Top banana again...!! Sheesh son !! great respect!! And also huge respect to guy's running him close!! In all honesty these shows, skill challenge, speed freak's and just monsters in my industry makes me proud to be called a " brickie"....many thanks all..😁
It was very close this year! Charlie did lose 3/4 minutes through a problem with his corner block setup but it was still very close! Like you said, great effort from everyone! Next year should be bigger and better
Yes Charlie and Tom, I remember Tom just starting out with Charlie and he was going through different hoddies every few months and people would say about Tom being boring or quiet but Tom was always on time and working hard I knew he was a good one. He reminded me of me. Hope he's on top dollar! Also Charlie please can you come and support @thetraditionalbricklayer 💪🙏💯🏴❤️
I don't think its a good advertisement for the younger generation wanting to learn the trade! Its getting just like the Spec Mix USA ive seen more mortar on the floor than anything else! Id rather see something like the Skillbuild competition something technical/creative rather than just lashing bricks down and making a mess!
Charlie did make a video addressing this point and it’s not how apprentices should aspire to work to. Deductions are very strict and at the end of the day it’s about bringing the industry together. This comp will do may more good than harm for an industry and is already severely short of young people
I think 700 bricks in a hour is some doing to be fair mate! Level ground or not 👍🏻 plus I think many people underestimate just how much pressure there is with a couple 1000 people watching
That's a brick every 5 seconds for an hour. Building corners too. Delusional if you think you've seen faster on site. Charlie has to find another 100 an hour to challenge in spec mix and 200 yes 200 to get the world record.

Thanks mate! It was a cracking day! I was driving so didn’t know you couldn’t get a drink downstairs! So only place to get a beer was the VIP area?

Glad to have you onboard
Great vid. Every decent tradesman has their strengths; combined, be proud of what you produce.
Thanks

Go Charlie see you in the USA. God speed and bless you and the family.
😎
Thank you so much for the video
Thanks for watching and commenting
Nice to see decent bricklayers being recognised for what we do
It is a great platform for aspiring Brickies and I hope it draws more young people into construction
Charlie is a super man and a master!!! Congratulations to him on his victory and his daughter!!!
He is very good I must say

Pretty sure Charlie gave Tom a grand when he won super trowel, I know he looked after him and continues to do so 🤝
Well done charlie, skills mate. Probably banged out a garage on the way there too. 😂👌
😂
If this was about skills then the bricklayer Rob Songer (on YT) would win hands down.
Incredibly talented man
Congratulations Charlie Boy top job.👍👍
It was such a close fought contest
Charlie is some bricky
Has a great rhythm to his laying 👍🏻

Thanks for posting this. I’m curious to know if Phil from Philly was in the final and if so how he got on?
Yes Phil was there. Pretty sure he came 4th, laid 600 odd before deductions
@@Tone_Team thanks for the update, cheers fella.
Should do a skill build competition
I think this comp will dominate the scene for years to come! 1st place prize pot totalled over £17,000 in prices
CC will rule best mason ever anywere in the world 😊
