    This was a fun video and I love both of your quilts! For me, I find that using leaders and enders (or another quilt on the side) helps me to not use as much thread and to keep my machine from coming unthreaded. I don’t know it that would work for you but it seems to for me. Just a thought. Thanks for sharing your quilting time with all of us…………

    This is such a great idea! I can never figure out what to do with the leftover squares. The "dates" with your kids are a great idea but don't worry, you'll see them more often when they have children! We video with the gangs in VA and NY every Sunday night.

    The subtensioner is said to work. Top dial. Turn it counter clockwise to get a longer tail. Instructional manual shows this tip. Juki Junkies also told me. I tried it, it got a tiny bit longer but not much.

    • @TiffanysQuiltingLife
      @TiffanysQuiltingLife  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I'll look into seeing how it can fix it. I've turned it before on my old Juki and all it did was make the thread pull more at the actual tension, which had to be adjusted even more. I'll look up more about it. There could be other solutions too.

    Both are beautiful. But I have to say the one you started for the jellyroll quilt day is my fav.
    Question if you started and stop with a leader would that help with your needle unthreading? My problem with sewing with a leader is I forget to use them. 😮

    • @TiffanysQuiltingLife
      @TiffanysQuiltingLife  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yup a leader and ender would solve the issue. I just forget to use them as well. And I also kinda think it's an extra step to cut it off and re add it. But I have done it when I remember

    Tiffany,
    I looked at “essential” threads, they look like to be 100% cotton.
    What weight do you use for your 90/14 needle, 40wt or 50wt?
    What about polyester thread ? Do you use that for quilting part or you quilt with cotton thread only ?
    Lots of quilters recommend polyester thread for quilting but I would like to know your opinion on this. Other will benefit for sure from your advice.
    TYIA !!

    • @TiffanysQuiltingLife
      @TiffanysQuiltingLife  ปีที่แล้ว

      I use cotton for piecing and I use a 40wt poly for longarm quilting (Glide). I use 40wt and 50wt depending on the brand. This Essential is a 50wt and sews nicely. And since I bought a bunch I will be using it for a while 😊

    My Juki2010Q keeps breaking thread. Can you tell me why?

    • @TiffanysQuiltingLife
      @TiffanysQuiltingLife  ปีที่แล้ว

      Tension could be to tight, could be bad thread, needle could be bad or have a burr in the hole, there could be many reasons. You would need to trouble shoot them all to see.

    What is the name of the pattern you are piecing? Love the material. Was it a jelly roll?

    • @TiffanysQuiltingLife
      @TiffanysQuiltingLife  ปีที่แล้ว

      One was from a layer cake and the other from a jelly roll. Neither are a specific pattern. One is just hourglass blocks, the other was just using the strip tube ruler.
