Btw, the real john frusciante who played this album as his last disappeared. The one that took over in the late 90's is another person is less funky and soulful, with different octopus tattoos. 3:13 is the magical moment when this one comes together to shine bright as a sun. Instruments on par for the course right from the go...but 3:13 is when it all happens vocally (for my auditory nerve spiral) cant figure out the why but my guess is either micro tones or a # box registry untill 3:13 when it gets fixed & all sounds natural flowing smooth and OFS.
Im no king...my ears just pick up small things. To my ears your pipes didn't relax untill 3:13. And that's when you sounded like you (trust me you have a gift/talent). Before that it just felt like you tried very hard to sound like the original (and not relaxed)...don't do that...just sound like you. Like you've done with many others and your original. Hope that makes sense.
