Your Satan has about same features as the Peavey 6505 plus which is what they use nowadays.

@@BigBoss1982 While there is a lot of modern metal I love, most bands have lost sight of the fact that a song doesn't have to be overly complicated and complex to be great. The best riffs usually are the simple ones, anyway. Look at the intro/verse riff for Resurrection by Chimaira. Nothing crazy going on, but it's both catchy AND heavy as fuck much like a lot of Machine Head riffs are.

@@BigBoss1982 Agreed! Sepultura, too. Especially the Roots Bloody Roots album. The metal bands from the 90's and ones that fit into the NWOAH group wrote some of my all time favorite riffs and songs! They all seemed to focus a lot more on groove and that birthed a bunch of riffs that make you move which is always the best stuff 🤘

First time hearing this song, and I can already tell why I love it. It really has that Pantera feeling. This would sound even more brutal with Dimebags guitar tone.

The first time I ever heard this song that outro just grabbed me, been a fan ever since. It's just pure beautiful heaviness at it's best.

This brings me back to my 1st band. I heard this song in a trailer that had a full on live pa system that could've pushed a small club. The floor of the trailer was rumbling and it was a life altering experience for a 16 yr old. We also listened to pantera domination. I wish I had that equipment in my living room.

Man, I remember the first time I heard this song way back when Machine Head had just released this album. I thought they were going to be the next Metallica. They had the world at their fingertips and threw it all away trying to get on the nu-metal bandwagon.

Call me a total 90s-2000s metal fan, but I think there's nothing quite as brutal as a boosted 5150 or a boosted Recto done right. Totally the sound of my favorite albums and bands growing up as a teen.
Have that combo, 5150, Maxon OD-808, Solar and and exclusive the sure name here in Norway Thordendal as Fredrik in Meshugga:D

After re-listening to the Burn My Eyes album, I'm thinking they had annoyingly long intro's to just eat up space. This song and Blood For Blood come to mind immediately.

I personally think EMGs are the best for high gain and crunch tones. They even sound pretty good for cleans in my opinion, though passives are better for cleans.
