    Man was really hoping there wouldn't be enough difference to justify getting a v2, but it looks like once I get my stereo setup where I want it I will be making the upgrade. Thanks A LOT STEFAN!

    I just used the v2 to record ambient piano and flute tracks, to add to the ambient guitar tracks. Wondrous pedal! Thank you, so much for your incredible reviews, man. Stellar presentation, soulful playing, and just the right amount of humor, mixed in. Always a pleasure!

    This is the most beautiful ambient guitar sound I ever heard!!! Your demo and your playing is amazing!! I also like the dog at the end!! :-) I like more V2 for the amazing stereo sound!... Now, all I have to do is waiting to find the money to buy this!... I have also checked Iconoclast but it's too expensive for me, so I'm thinking of buying 2 identical cheap guitar amps to use it in a stereo setup!! Thanks for your amazing demo!! Keep on!!... :-)

  • @Nimbin
    @Nimbin 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    Hi, I have the V1 for a year now, and I have a few questions. First is the dry signal is stereo in the new version? the the v1 only becomes stereo then you turn it on, witch is very annoying. also is the expresion switch the same? on my other pedals when expression mode is engaged the knob lets me limit the expression input - and in the V1 it dose not... did they change that by any chance?

  • @SrNeira
    @SrNeira 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

  • @PatrickTeachestheWorld
    @PatrickTeachestheWorld 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    Does the reverb/delay stay on in sound on sound mode? I have been trying to figure it out and the pedal is only on when I'm holding the switch then it shuts off again while I play over the loops.

    • @thepedalzone
      @thepedalzone  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      No, the reverb/delay isn't on in bypass mode when using sound on sound. It only engages when you turn on the pedal to layer loops. The reason why you can hear some reverb in this piece, when I'm not layering loops, is because I have the AR V1 on after the V2, and it adds some slight ambience. You can do the same if you have an extra reverb pedal ☺👍

      rahzark The V1 isn't real stereo, it's dual mono. It can pass a stereo signal, but the effect was always applied identically with no stereo spread, so it only has a different stereo image on each output if you are passing a true stereo signal.

    Maybe I missed it... but is there a way visually to know if I just bought a version 1 or version 2? I just bought the Avalanche Run Special Edition Attack of the Yeti Reverb/Delay Effects Pedal. No where on my pedal does it say "version 2" How can I tell if this is the most current version 2? I know that the regular (non-limited edition) version 2 pedal is better than version 1. How can I make sure I have a version 2 Yeti Limited edition. Is there a way to tell just buy looking at it or is trying it out with the "flex" option the only way to know. (Maybe the Yeti edition is only version 2?

    • @thepedalzone
      @thepedalzone  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I'm pretty sure the limited Yeti version was released after the AR got the V2 treatment, so yours should be a V2. But a way you can see it is on the enclosure. The V2 is simply slightly wider, giving it more of a straight square look, whereas the V1 is a bit slimmer, giving it more of a rectangular look, which I actually show in this video :)

    • @thepedalzone
      @thepedalzone  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Another way to tell right away, is by hooking the pedal up in stereo. If you get a gorgeous and wide stereo reverb, then it's a V2. If you get a more narrow and flat reverb, then it's a V1.

    Wait how do you add the momentary slapback delay at around 4:05 in the video? I don't understand how it's working when the activate light isn't on? Just got mine and am trying to make sure it's a V2. Also, do you need two amps for stereo usage? Would a Fender Champ 100 and Champ 20 work for that?

    • @thepedalzone
      @thepedalzone  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I simply just press and hold the bypass switch. As explained before the example starts, the Avalanche Run V2 sports EarthQuaker's flexi-switch technology, which allows you to engage the pedal normally or momentarily, depending on how you press the switch. If you just press quick and release, then you engage the pedal normally like any other pedal out there, but if you press and hold the switch, then the pedal will activate momentarily, and will be bypassed again once you release your foot from the switch. Regarding stereo, if you want to use amps, then yes, you're gonna need two amps or a an actual stereo amp like the Roland Jazz Chorus. If you just want to play stereo at home, then you can also just acquire a stereo amp /cab simulator like the Strymon Iridium, Boss IR-200 or Neunaber Iconoclast. If you have a recording interface and use DAWs, then you can also just run stereo into your interface(if it has two inputs) and then monitor it in your DAW. So all depends on your needs.

    Just a question :
    What happens at 4:55, the momentary long reverse delays loops, is only possible on v2, allowed by the flexi-switch ? (i'm pretty sure of the answer, but just want to be sure, coz a good deal on a v1 is just up there!)

    • @thepedalzone
      @thepedalzone  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you very much! You can still do the looping thing on the V1. You just can't jump in and out of parts as smoothly since it doesn't have the momentary switch. But you can still do it by clicking every time on the latch switch ☺

    • @thepedalzone
      @thepedalzone  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Welcome to the wonderful world of pedals, man! The only thing that Minim and Avlanche Run have in common is that they both are a delay/reverb pedal. Other than that, they don't have anything in common. They sound VERY different. Avalanche Run is clean, pristine, washy and airy. Minim is dense, modulated and warbly, and has the possibility to add in octave shifts via its reverse function.

    Nobody does Reverb/Delay pedals like EQD.
    For me, the simplicity and small size of the Dispatch Master (and the fact it sounds beautiful) make it a winner.
    But...I'm running a dual amp rig nowadays. Wet/dry.
    Avalanche Run V.2 in stereo might be something worth trying. I sold my Disaster Transport and now have no EQD pedals on my board.
    That's a crime!
    So...either this V.2, a Dispatch Master, or a Disaster Transport Sr.
    Anyone got any recommendations or tips? I'm a Fender player, and use two Fender combos (one is a Bassbreaker, less scoopy, more like a British-voiced Fender amp).

    2. Receive tap or clock info

    I'm torn between this and the Space Spiral. The Stereo option isn't something I will use, I just want an interesting delay pedal that gives me options to create beautiful noises.
    I was all in on the Avalanche Run until I saw your video on the Space Spiral.
    Which is the one you would choose if you could only have one?

    • @thepedalzone
      @thepedalzone  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Well, I use the Avlanche Run in like 95% of my demos, so I think my personal answer is pretty clear. AR is 100% the pedal I use the most. But that being said, the Space Spiral is awesome, it's just a completely different flavour than the AR. It's like comparing pears and apples. If you want old-school tape-style delays with modulation, then go Space Spiral, if you want deep dreamy ambience, then go Avalanche Run ☺
