I am so glad that books are still important to you. My husband is the manager of our Barnes & Noble & I can't tell you how important it is for people to still purchase books. Before long, there won't be bookstores to walk into and while prices do play a part in people ordering online or listening to audio books or using e-readers, there will come a time when we will miss the ability to walk in to a bookstore.

I put my kobo ereader in an appropriate sized ziploc style freezer bag for reading in the tub. The touch feature works through the plastic and my ereader stays safe from splashes or accidental drops.

Hi Marnie...reading has always been a great love of mine! I also love Nora Roberts and JD Robb. I actually met her last fall at a book signing in her hometown. I've travelled quite a bit and I have to say it was my favorite trip so far. She is so warm & funny...I was very nervous to speak with her but she put me at ease immediately.

If you have Amazon Prime, one of the perks is Kindle First (they just changed the name to Amazon First) where you get to pick 1 book out of the 6 they offer, every month. The 6 change each month, all different genres, you keep the book. Amazon Prime also offers free access to some books that you can “borrow” on the Kindle. (Amazon also has a pay service Kindle unlimited with a lot more titles.)

I LOVE to read also! I have a Kindle but I enjoy reading from a book. My love of reading began at a very early age. My father would read the paper out loud to me each evening when I was a toddler. For that reason I was able to read in the first grade. I was actually called out on it and my parents were told to stop reading to me at home (this was in 1960). My genre is usually autobiographies and self-help.

I bought my Kindle last year but I still enjoy reading a real book so much more. I love Steve Berry books. They are historical fiction or religious fiction thriller type of stories. I love to read! I work at Barnes & Noble at LaCantera mall on the weekends. I feel there just isn’t enough time in the day to read as much as I want to. If you like light, fun reads, you should try books by Mary Kay Andrews. She writes fiction and I typically bust out laughing reading her books. I, too, have an eReader (Nook) and I have the kindle app on my ipad. I typically read romance, fiction, biographies, Christian fiction, religion and business books. I’m looking forward to trying your recommendations. Plus I can suggest them to customers at work. People always ask for my recommendations. It’s hard to recommend what to read sometimes. I love reading and I think I enjoy more when I read (from) a hard copy, just something more solid about it. Recently read 'U Is For Undertow' by Sue Grafton (gripping thriller/ mystery), and it's the first I've read by this author and truly enjoyed it. It's a part of a series, easy, quick, and gripping. Yay, book talk ! I just finished The Almost Sisters by Joshilyn Jackson, it was so good ! Out of my normal reading comfort zone, but I really enjoyed this book. Set in the south (Alabama), it has a little mystery that holds you to the end, lots of family drama, some touchy social issues that it"s an absolute shame are still issues. Oh and some catch-you-off-guard, laugh-out-loud moments, which are the best!

One of my all-time favorite authors is Harlan Coben. He doesn’t write fast enough for me! Highly recommend anything by him; he does have a series (Myron Bolitar).... laugh out loud and very fun reads but his other standalone books are incredible. He takes everyday events, adds an unexpected turn and you’re off.

Thank you Marnie! What a fun list! Can’t wait to start on this list. In full disclosure, I’m a children’s librarian (early learning focus) and also love to read. Lately I’ve been more into light fun reads so your list is perfect. I’ve been into the British chick lit like Sophie Kinsella (Confessions of a Shopaholic Series), Jill Mansell, and Katie Fforde. Sophie Kinsella’s latest book, “Surprise Me” was a fun read. It’s a stand alone title and not part of her Shopaholic series. And I love all your videos; makeup, fashion and your vlogs. I’m also a dog lover (we have a blue healer mix + 3 cats which is his “herd”) and I have 3 kids (25 year old and 21 year old twins). My reading time is often late into the night or early morning. Keep on reading and Thank you for using your local library. Libraries have a lot to offer both in paper and online.

Ok, your reading list is right up my alley but I have some suggestions for you too. Jim Butcher and his series with Harry Dresden, The Dresden Files are amazing. Not to mention the ultimate in paranormal and romance, Sherrilyn Kenyon’s The Dark Hunters series. Highly recommend!!!!!

      Read them both! ;)

I love to read Elin Hilderbrand. I too just really like fun easy reads. I also have an unrelated question. I ordered the barefoot dreams circle cardigan in a medium(only size left). Normally I am a small but I thought I would try it. It doesn’t look really big, I thought I remembered you saying you had a medium and some smalls do you think there is much difference in the sizes?

There is very little difference between the two sizes. A little more room in the sleeves and it won’t drape as closely to the body.

Im also an avid reader and Im excited about your recommendations. I read the all souls trilogy and I loved it! Also loved the first two books of Outlander but after that I couldnt get into it. Have you read the Fever series? It's one of my favorites of all time, you should definitely check it out!

We read alot of the same types of books! I love a good series, my sister and 2 daughters are always passing around books to each other. Lol helps to keep the cost down. I have a kobo and the kobo app in my phone and tablet. The addiction is real! Enjoy your reading!

I love a good physical book first, but do love my Kindle for keeping me in tons of books and keeping me on top of amazon preorders lol. I also just got the App for Scribed and pay the monthly fee to "borrow" even more books 😋 I love a good series as well, I read way too much thriller crime police procedure etc so I love a good cozy mystery/romance to lighten it up. The Maple Syrup series was fun and light. Thanks for sharing 📚☕🐶 thx for the heads up on the new Sookie's books!

Deb InPEI Wow! Lucky you. It’s a special place. My parents just sold their oceanfront place west of Summerside to move here in Ontario. Enjoy your island summer!

I appreciate a good ole paper book. But I am using my iPad more and more for convience and cost reasons. My favorite author is Nora Roberts. I like the kinda paranormal romance thing she does. I've tried reading her JD Robb series and just couldn't get into it.

That’s hilarious. I live in Cork, Ireland. And yes, Skibbereen is a real place. And it’s really lovely. I must find this series of books. Funny that it’s a recommendation from an American vlogger! I’ve never heard of this series.

Marnie I’m so excited you shared this! I too am a huge reader and was also a last hold out for a kindle and got it for same reasons lol
Reading in bed is how I settle every night and have since a young child. Oh Nancy Drew:)
I do still love to buy and hold a physical book every now and again - mostly in the summer for some reason.
I read everything but especially love a good mystery also and can’t wait to check out some of these recommendations:)
Have you ever read any of the Anne Perry mysteries.? Set in England in early 1800’s. I especially love the Charlotte and Thomas Pitt series and will often re-read them. There are TONS of them:)
And I LOVE the Outlander series and will often re-read those as well. And every summer I re-read Pride and Prejudice.
My favourite kind of day is having no plans or commitments and curling up with a good book or 2 or 3 lol
Have you read The Wife Between Us or The Woman in the Window? Couldn’t put the down and full of good twists
Thank you again so much for sharing this - loved it ! 👍💕

Hi there, loved this video 💜 I would also recommend Sarah Addison Allen books. They are similar (sort of) to the books you mentioned you liked.

Love hearing about great books! Have you read the Mitford series books by Jan Karon? They are based on a small town in the mountains of NC.
