    is it important to do the sculpting after the uv mapping?

      It really depends on your workflow and how you will use the model. For example, if you want to do the retopology of the mesh, then I would say you should sculpt first, then retopology, and then UV unwrapping. If you want to generate a displacement map through the sculpted mesh, I think you should unwrap it before sculpting. In this particular case, we did not sculpt the base mesh of the model, so we can do the sculpting before the unwrapping and vice versa without any problems.
