  • Mountain Wilderness - Not where you Expect !
Stuchd an Lochain - You don't have to travel far as expected to get a feeling of remote wilderness in the mountains. This long day really did have a wilderness feel and a remote mountain feel . Leaving at first light , the headtorch was required coming off the mountain . You don't really expect to find such wild feeling areas so close to home - not where I expected !

Fabulous! Thank you for all the incredible filming you do - setting the camera down then going back to it, at the same time maybe struggling up a difficult stretch and racing against time. The swirling cloud at the end was really magical.

Wonderful video Murray! Absolutely outstanding🤩👍. You are so humble, never referencing this as anything other than a big day, 21km, almost 1600m, a lot of it off path, a big day indeed! And all the while setting up shots and bothering to take us with your, our hats truly come off to you. We think you have to win the prize for most effort on you tube😊👍. Loved the swirling clouds at sunset, magical. Some amazing views throughout the hike too. We are sure you had a good sleep that evening! ATB as always, Shell and Pete😊👍

Thanks Murray, really enjoyed this one, especially your squeezing the last drop of Autumnal light out of the day. Meall Buidhe is underrated as a 'lesser' Munro but as with many similarly overlooked peaks it offers great vistas out to better known hills and of course the vastness of Rannoch.

Nice one Murray. That spot midway looked amazing for a camp and packraft if the winds playing the game. Top tip.. you can buy an elastic bungee cord that you put around your rooftop fabric. As you close the roof it pulls in the side walls preventing if from getting caught in the roof struts/mechanism/hinges..thingy, you know what I mean! Very expensive having it repaired if it catches on your roof struts when the wind blows etc.. We learned this on Hamish no.1. Money saving tips R us lol ! 😆

Thanks Murray; inspirational, as always! I too recall reading about the circuit, when I bought Cameron’s book in 2006. It’s stayed on a vague wish list till now, but you’ve made it a ‘must do’. The spot at the head of the loch looks very special. I might pick a day with more daylight though! Great stuff! 👍🥾

Thanks Murray, this one really lifted my spirits! I finally left Southampton and I'm now living near Turriff in Aberdeenshire. I moved in a week and a half ago and for most of a week I was treated to absolutely gorgeous sunrise and sunset skies, similar to what you had on this trip. It was breathtaking, and felt like a warm welcome fo Scotland. I don't suppose you could recommend a couple of easy hills in my area that I could try once I'm settled in, probably next Spring? I'd appreciate some tips from an experienced outdoor guy :) All the best - Mike.

… line walk in Snowdonia I am going on, with the Chester walking club I’m a member of, this coming Sunday. As you can imagine, we only occasionally get to visit Scotland. However, in May next year we’re coming to stay in Crianlarich (near Tyndrum and the Green Well car and truck stop). What Munros and Corbetts would you recommend in that area please Murray? Another great video, thanks for the enjoyment and inspiration you provide. A couple of things I'd be really interested to have your thoughts on:
    1. Do you use winter tyres on your vehicle? I'm toying with getting a set for driving to Scotland this winter.
    2. I'm thinking of getting a pair of OAC WAP 127 skishoes from Finland to do some ski trekking in Scotland this winter. Black Diamond sell a variant of these called Glide Lite trekking skis, but they don't export to UK or Europe.
I'd be greatful for any advice. Thanks again for all the great videos you've produced, please keep up the good work.

Afraid I don’t know anything about skiing but in terms of winter tyres - I have them on my van and also my wife’s car - make a huge amount of difference in the cold IMHO. Wouldnt be without them now in winter. Got the vans tyres changed a few weeks ago and all ready to go . If you search winter tyres vs 4*4 on TH-cam there are some really nice videos explaining the benefits 👍👍
