Jo Bonnier parlava distintamente sei lingue , aveva studiato a Parigi e Oxford . Era un vero gentiluomo .

Thanks for this rare clip! Hearing Clark talk about racing hill climb events is a reminder that Clark (and other drivers of the era) regularly competed in many other series. Clark won championships in everything from Fort Cortina's, Jaguar sports cars, Tasman series open wheels, in addition to F1. His natural genius behind the wheel in everything he ever raced is one his most admired traits.

All of these drivers would be dead over a period of 4 years. Clark at an F2 race at Hockenheim in ‘68, Siffert at a non-championship F1 race at Brands Hatch in ‘71 and Bonnier at Le Mans in ‘72. A real testament to how dangerous those times were.

JIM CLARK - By far the greatest driver ever - no doubt. He is and was the Best of the Best. No other driver in history until today was so superior as Clark.
This man is the Olymp of driving - the Michelangelo of racing - a dynamic art at the highest level. So smooth, so precise, so fast....simply out of this world. One, who won in Spa by 5 minutes (!) in monsoon rain...One, who takes back a complete lap (!) in Monza and back into the lead... One, who took pole on the original 22,8 km Nürburgring track by 9 (!) seconds and more....One who won Indy by 2 whole (!) laps...For eternity and by lightyears unmatched in the sport. That`s just four examples of his mesmeric unique genius...

I read Ron Walkers Grand Prix reports in Road & Track in the late 60's . Siffert drove for him at that time in a Lotus 49. It was sad to read the column when Siffert was killed . I note the seat in Jimmys car. It was normally not a seat as such but an insert that was shaped for the driver and fitted into the cockpit but this looks like a seat ;Stewart's from memory was covered in his families tartan . That car looks like the Indy car: was he testing it? Amazing but somewhat sad video, these guys loved what they did.

It seems two Jo`s are having a bit fun over fact that Jim does not speak french.
Amazing footage. It seems it is from 1965 because Jim is sitting on his infamous Indy 500 winning car Lotus 38.

      😂 you sure?
He was Scottish, no prejudice about the French language. Notice his smile when Bonnier goes back to him and translates: not a smile of someone left in the dark, but in the know.
Also he lived in Paris for a period due to tax reasons. Not a stretch to think he knew a bit at least. He is seen smiling since Bonnier speaks rather slowly. Quite sure he picked some of what was being said. Given that Bonnier was a gentleman, this might have been on purpose as a grace to both Jim and Jo.
