Hörnerdörfer Personalities: Hans Rimmel, the coppersmith of Obermaiselstein in the Allgäu.

The Allgäu Hörnerdörfer villages at the foot of the Hörner mountain chain are Fischen, Ofterschwang, Obermaiselstein, Bolsterlang and Balderschwang. The highest peak is the Riedbergerhorn. Also well known is the Rubihorn on the opposite side or the Nebelhorn in Oberstdorf.

Hans is our coppersmith in the beautiful old forge in Obermaiselstein. He makes real copper cauldrons traditionally used for cheese making, weather wheels, lamps and everything that can be made out of copper.
The lively and original town centers and the mountain views are impressive everywhere in the Hörner villages, whether from below up to the Allgäu high alpine chain or down into the wide and sunny Illertal or far into the Allgäu.
