Random trivia about this game: The worlds in this game are designed in pairs. There are 4 DK Worlds (that you enter from DK Island) and 4 Kremling worlds (that you enter on K. Rool's island). Each DK world has a matching Kremling world that that is the opposite of it in theming. So for example this world, Frantic Factory, is the Kremling version of Jungle Japes (Jungle Japes is all about nature where this one is all about mechanics.)
So by that Logic the worlds would compare like this: Jungle Japes = Frantic Factory. Fungi Forest = Gloomy Galleon. Crystal Caves = Creepy Castle. Angry Aztec = Hideout Helm.
@@CesarTorres61296 Actually I think it goes like this: Jungle Japes = Frantic Factory Angry Aztec = Gloomy Galleon (the opposite of Desert level is water level) Fungi Forest = Creepy Castle (Fungi Forest is all about life whereas Creepy Castle is all about death) Crystal Cavern = Hideout Helm (Crystal Cavern is the heart of DK Island and Hideout Helm is the heart of K. Rool's base) This also makes more sense because it makes a pattern. The game goes in order: Unlock 2 DK stages then unlock the 2 Kremling Stages that correspond to them. Then repeat, unlock 2 DK Stages then again unlock the 2 Kremling Stages that correspond to them. This also, also makes most of them have equivalent locations on DK Island VS K. Rool Island (Jungle Japes and Frantic Factory are both pretty close to the main entrances, Angry Aztec and Gloomy Galleon are both on the outside edges, Fungi and Creepy on the very top, Crystal and Hideout are both inside the head)
Fun fact: Rare has the player character's speed increase with the lag. This means that, although the game itself slows down, the Kong moves faster in-game to cancel it out. This makes it easier to overlook (which is what Scykoh was talking about at 4:55-ish). On the other hand, it means that you can clip through walls if there is a lot of lag. I only know this because of Bismuth's analysis video of the TAS of this game, it is worth checking out if you want to understand some of the weird stuff in this game.
Wow that is both genius and also hilariously game breaking. I love it because for the common player they just have a more enjoyable experience but it also adds a really fun tool for speed runners

Well, I recently discovered your channel through my recommendations, and the quality of your content is lovely - especially passion-wise. This game was a huge part of my childhood, and watching your walkthrough randomly caused me to start playing Banjo Tooie again - good times. Keep on rolling, mate ♥
I am glad that you made an appropriately big deal about how hard that Donkey Kong arcade segment was. That crud took me so stinkin' long to get that back in the day!
Hi Scykoh, thank you for all your great videos, and let's plays. I'm from the Netherlands, so when you upload your video in the afternoon, I will get them in the morning. It is great and wonderful to begin each day, watching your let's plays. Please, keep doing what you're doing. I hope you never quit.
Frantic Factory has some of the best design, music, puzzles, and lore in the entire game, and I can't wait to see you battle Mad Jack! I think I'll save my theory about him for the comment on that video, but suffice it to say for now that he's my favorite boss in DK64 from both a design and headcanon standpoint! Also, it's been a hot minute since Diddy's been a menace...
Ash Ketchum could easily give Chunky a piggy back ride. Just at how he casually held Cosmoem with that weight. And this game even says that Chunky weighs over 2000 lbs.
This series has inspired me to go back and play DK64 for the first time in years. I've never actually beaten it, but hopefully there will be some tips and tricks i can learn from watching you play! Unfortunately, once I found my N64 I realized I'm gonna have buy a new Expansion Pack before i can actually play it. But at least i can enjoy your videos in the meantime!
When I first unlocked Frantic Factory and Gloomy Galleon, I was overwhelmed with joy to find Gloomy Galleon, and missed the part where Frantic Factory was opened. We had to depend on my 4 year old brother, a preschooler, who managed to find both Frantic Factory and Chunky Kong, while we were in school. That was a complete shock to all of us. We didn't believe him at first.
I feel the same about low-fps game and stuff. As of today, I haven't played a single game in 60fps (I'm not proud of this lol) but what really sickens me is when people automatically say a game is bad because it's not at 60 fps or it has some frame dropping.
I've been playing DK64 for years, and to this day, I don't think I've seen the entirety of Frantic Factory. Same with a few of the levels, but this one in particular. It's absolutely massive.
Wow. Today was the first time I have beat the arcade twice! I remember lodging a controller in my TV when I was younger because of that side level! What I've noticed is that sometimes it can be kinder for all four levels, and you'll notice it. On the third level, that fire ball will just kind of hang out up top. On the second level, the pies stop coming completely on the middle right side so you can speed run it. Hard to explain, but I started noticing that and took advantage of it when I saw it again and did all four levels with 2 lives to spare like you did!
6:12 - an extra fun tidbit about Mechanical Zingers, if you hit them once they begin to smoke and start to malfunction, their grenade dropping accuracy decreases a great deal and makes it harder for them to hit you. However Lanky, Tiny and I believe Diddy, have to hit them 3 times with their weapons, and their white smoke will turn Black, and their Grenade Dropping accuracy decreases even more when they have black smoke. It's minor but when I was young playing the game I was fascinated at the little bit of detail Rare added to the enemy. :)
21:11 From getting to the final level on the first try to getting gently smacked in the face by a barrel on the first stage - not often I laugh out loud, but this got me!

I know that wasn't actually just to mess with me but it was funny how it worked out. "If we go down here before we do Frantic Factory........ we can do this level, but anyway now onto Frantic Factory!" I saw that little alphabet block with the triangle platform and got hit by flashbacks harder than nearly anything else in this series so far, I have no idea why. (Also gotta love unexpectedly hearing OSRS music.)
Yo Falkuz! I'll be talking about that secret once we get to our next episode where collecting everything on that Kong leaves the episode a bit short and we need a little more run time.
