A product that several of my friends used with their little ones when they were moving into solid foods is a tiny little mesh bag with a little ring attached (for the baby to hold it), and you just put softer (steamed or baked) veggies in it, and the baby can gnaw on it and the mushy food comes through, but nothing big enough to choke them. It starts to introduce texture that has more to it than just milk or formula, but lets them become familiar with gnawing or light chewing and actually lets them explore lots of different types of foods safely. Then at about 9 months, those same friends moved onto those same food items out of the bag and just monitored the little ones' eating to ensure they didn't choke, but they were foods they had already become accustomed to, somewhat. Just a thought. Your pictures were SO gorgeous! I mean, it helps that none of you are hard on the eyes, but the location and your photographers, just beautiful. SUCH a good idea and I'm glad you were able to catch those images at this stage in your family's life. What a beautiful boy Neo is. I know you're ridiculously proud to be his mum and pop. Congrats to your friends and their new coffee flavor. I hope it has them doing a Happy Dance all the way to the bank! ;) Enjoy the remainder of this season with your lil' Pumpkin!
The best thing I ever learned was that... A child's taste buds change about every 2 weeks. So Maybe they don't like something or the taste of it. Wait two to 3 weeks and try it again. Worked amazing !!!!
It can take approximately 20 times of tasting something before deciding if you like it, plus our tastes change, so keep persevering with Neo. We have the rule of a 'no thank you' portion in our family; you have to have a mouthful of everything before you can say ' no thank you' to any more because you don't like it.
They have little fruit/veg feeders that help with introducing solids without choking hazards.. they’re called feeder pacifier or fresh food feeder. it’s basically a handle with a net attached that you unscrew and stuff full of whatever fruit or veg you want and he can chew to his heart’s content and get all the good stuff, while the lil net catches all the fibrous material that can choke him. Helps lil one’s adjust to solids and practice chewing without you guys worrying about him biting off too much. He’s absolutely beautiful and I love all the wonder in the world that you are exposing him to. He will grow up to be exceptional! ❤❤
The photographs your friends took of you all are absolutely amazing! Besides being so artistically pleasing, I love the expressions on Neo's face in many of the photos -- he looks so grown up. I hope you cherish those photos forever! Congrats!
This episode put a big smile on my face. The photo shoots and the pumpkin patch were great! And baby Neo trying is first food was priceless!. He is just adorable. ♥
Loved the video! The pictures turned out great! Another accessory for the highchair is a foot rest! It will help him feel stable so he doesn't gag as easily❤️
Pumpkin and tomato soup is so easy and yummy ,fry an onion , add diced pumpkin, some veg stock and two tins of tomatoes , boil until the pumpkin is soft , and blitz , yummy . Neo looked so cute !!
I remember the excitement and fear of starting feeding my daughter actual foods 6 months ago and now she’s one and eating almost everything and independently. Crazy how quickly they grow ❤ I couldn’t stop giggling at Neo’s pumpkin hat so cute 😂
So freaking cute, just needed his little stem hat to make a full pumpkin, but he is so cute. The best kind of pumpkin. His shades OMG! The family photos are amazing
Beautiful beautiful pics of you all…❤️ chopped dates in a small cup of plant milk cooked into porridge was my daughters fave … one of. Lentils blitzed to powder with grated veg in a little water and cooked was also a fave. Vegan and nutritious. As a veggie/vegan baby she grew into a healthy beautiful young woman … and yeah keep trying broccoli became a firm fave after the initial , ewww 👶🏻 💙
Hii, this is just a safety recommendation for the highchair - I would suggest adding a footrest to the highchair for choking prevention. Not hate, just a suggestion! Love you guys! x
Ahh adorable, I weaned my first son in New Zealand with Avocado’s and sweet potatoes from the back garden. My 2 loved chomping on broccoli and cauliflower, and strawberries and bananas. You’ll be mashing and smashing some amazing foods . X
I'd say the broccoli is definitely not his favorite lol. I love love the photos of the 3 of you sitting on the blanket in meadow. Such a beautiful family. Neo is so adorable, he has beautiful eyes. I do have to admit, i do miss seeing more of your pupper in videos
Oooh I would recommend getting a footrest for the high chair! My husband and I just did the pumpkin patch a few days ago too with our newly 6 month old! Totally going to put her in a pumpkin 😂.
Guys you look beautiful, your son is so adorable . I am one of your older subscribers. Thank you so much for sharing with us . I am mourning my mothers passing in July . She loved your vlogs. I feel compelled to say hi today. Your making me feel happy. Jo Jo xx
So exciting that Neo tried his first food, can't wait to do that all again with my second. We are also Brighton based and went to Washbrooks Farm yesterday. It's a small family run farm with animals to look at, a small soft play for little ones and a variety of activities 🎃
I was confused by "solids". I guess things have really changed. Solids meant soft foods when my children were 6 month old babies. And the foods you gave him only came after the baby had teeth to chew.
Babies can eat things without teeth!! They still can chew. My baby is only 7 months old has had shrimp, steak, sausage, pizza, pasta, broccoli, avocado, pumpkin, and more! BLW is now what is recommended because kids are less likely to be picky.
The photographs that Jamal and Beth took are absolutely stunning, what a couple they make as well and gorgeous to boot! Loved this video and watching Leo try broccoli was the cutest❤
Awwwwwww what a beautiful little video! I love watching Neo growing up bless him! He reminds me of when my daughter Jade who is now 21 years old was small like Neo many Moons ago! Lol! Such precious and wonderful times when they’re that young! You both are doing incredibly well and I can see your absolutely loving every min of parenting which absolutely fantastic! Neo has the absolute best Parents bless him and it’s going to be a wonderful journey! I wish you all the very best! ❤😊😮🎉
Beautiful photos! My nieces son also started with broccoli and hated it. He is nearly 9 month old now and loves avocado and banana. My niece made the lemon test with little man and his face was to die for 🤣the moment he recognised that the lemon is sour.
Awww... no way is he 6months already ❤ just go with the flow 8f it helps you don't have to do individual things unless there's a history of allergies in the family... pancakes for the win just remember no honey before 1 I loved BLW cause they could literally have what we were having... enjoy your new adventure 🎉
Those pictures are EXCELLENT!!! You MUST put them on the wall!!! I love pumpkin season! I grew a bunch of ornamental squashes and gourds they are so pretty I'm so please with them! xx
Lovely vlog guys 😊. Neo is SO cute. Stunning family photos. Great photographer's. I stopped buying big pumpkins because they just end in organic rubbish. Since 5 yrs I buy 3 Hokkaido pumpkins..one for each of us (my 2 kids and myself). We always carve them on 30th for Halloween on 31st and then 1st November I cut them up and make soup... we love Hokkaido curry pumpkin soup. I am British but live in Germany at present. So we celebrate Halloween at home, I keep up our Cornish Celtic family traditions. It is always a cosy family day. Sometimes with "extended" family (friends). Ps. My first son had major allergies so, although I started him on solids at 6mths old, i brest fed until he was 1.5yrs old. Then I did the same for my 2nd child, even though he had no allergies. But due to the other benefits of brest feeding. Pasnips is good to start especially due to allergies. IDEAS FOR AUTUMN...My kids and I ...1) go mushrooms and toadstool hunting.. each year we try and find as many new types as possible. Then cook edible ones. 2) collect leaves, acorns and conkers and make Autumn decorations and animals and stick men from them (google "conker, chestnut crafts animals"). 3) go to a corn maze. 4) cook and bake all things Autumn and pumpkin. 5) have an Autumn BBQ, with hot chocolate, marshmallows, chestnuts. 6) Kit flying.
He is so frikkin cute! I thoroughly recommend teaching him some basic signing (more/all gone/milk/drink/etc), as he can use these before he has words and it avoids a lot of frustration!
What a beautiful video. Great choice for you to do a portfolio with Neo. He's getting so big and when you said he was 6mons old! That's hard to believe!! Bet you can't wait for the holidays and to start your own traditions with Neo...actually looking forward to go along with you!! I also want to congratulate your friends on the launching of their new business. Wishing much success. God Bless 🙌
Love the video Paradise Park in Newhaven have got there Christmas light display in their gardens in November and December would be good for baby sensory.
I would get a foot rest for the high chair! I have the same one and the foot rest is needed for them to feel less restless eating! Also the faces they make don't mean much! Lol
Omg Neo in the Pumpkin 😂🎃😂 and the broccoli 🥦 I was dyinggg 🤣 I'm sure he'll learn to love it! Thanks for all the autumn vibes, my favourite season, especially in Brighton, I moved away a while ago and miss it soooo much 😢 don't miss the turning of the clocks coming up soon cos that's amazing, and then the Christmas fayre! So magical 🎄🎉👏
I don't know if you have Apple picking in England but that is what I would suggest or maybe find a forest that has the leaves changing to orange, yellow and red take some photos.
Neo is such a beautiful little boy who is so lucky to have two of the most loving parents ever!
What a beautiful video. The photos are so amazing!! 6 months, wow
You need to get the plate that they put their feet on. That way if he chokes. He can push the food out. It’s important. Cute pics!
You two were meant to be Neo's parents, he is so lucky to have you! The love just flows off of you both.
Love all the pictures including the pumpkin patch ones. Such a beautiful family!

The love y'all have for each other is so beautiful!
Thank you so much for sharing all fun family memories with us!! ❣❤❤❤❣
Great job mom and dad starting Neo on solids- I froze large carrots when my sons were teething-they helped with teething pain-
How damn beautiful are these Photos in the countryside!!! It looks a little bit like in Switzerland, where I come from 😍😍😍!!!
Please don’t forget the foot rest for when starting solids, it reduces the risk of choking.
What a beautiful video. Great choice for you to do a portfolio with Neo. He's getting so big and when you said he was 6mons old! That's hard to believe!! Bet you can't wait for the holidays and to start your own traditions with Neo...actually looking forward to go along with you!!

Neo is absolutely gorgeous and full of smiles and pleasant and patient lol
You two give off the best energy.
What beautiful photos! So fun to see your family grow.
Just a suggestion but I would start with foods he can mash with his gums until he gets a few teeth in. ❤
Wow, awesome photos! Neo was the perfect model. And you two did pretty well too ❤😂

Yess we’ve ordered a foot rest for this one! Just hasn’t arrived yet
