A 15 minute sprint in preparation for 60 mins race on Wednesday. As always racing in VR in the Ferrari 296 at Suzuka with trackside overlay and commentary.
Nice race ! What are the specs of your computer ? I tried many time to set up the game in VR but I never got something actualy playable... Keep the good work ;)
Hi, and thanks for taking your time to view my video and your kind encouragement. So your question about my PC specs which are as follows: Asus Rog Strix X570-F Gaming AMD Ryzen 9 5900X 12-Core Processor 3.70 GHz Gigabyte 4080 Super Gaming OC 16 32GB RAM Pimax Crystal VR headset. First I have to say the Crystal headset is outstanding in terms of resolution, clarity and performance. You may have viewed my earlier video racing Mini Cooper JCW in AMS2. The view in the headset is actually better than in the video. ACC is very challenging in VR and this video provides a better quality than that in the headset. My previos HP Reverb 2 I could not race ACC in VR it was dreadful but the Crystal has improved that substantially and for me very usable. I started out using Opencomposite but after issues turned to Steam VR but running in OpenXR mode. In addition I switched headset to 120hz and get between 100 to 110 FPS in AMS2 with graphic settings at high level. ACC I get 80 to 90 FPS, again set at 120hz with most settings at high. Worth noting that development and features of DLSS that the 4080 range can utilise makes a big difference to ACC performance levels. I am running 90% native resolution throughout and 80% application resolution in AMS2 and 70% in ACC. I hope this information helps you achieve a playable level in ACC. Regarding the Crystal, Pimax have now launched a new model called "Light" PCVR headset only which removes the need for batteries. It has the same specification in terms of resolution, but removal of eye tracking and auto IPD which I have not found particularly beneficial anyway. Price for model with local dimming (which I highly recommend) is much lighter to wear and now much more affordable at around £800 is the way to go imho.
@@martinbailey4076 Thanks a lot for all these informations ! I'm using a reverb G2 now and a RTX 3070, so it makes sens I can't get the best of the experience in VR for this game. I'm planning to get the crystal light at the end of the year and also to upgrade my GPU as well. Thanks again for your advices
Martin, thanks for sharing. So cool to see ACC in VR and what a track.
