      1 - Réu Confesso (studio version), my favorite;
      2 - Descobridor dos 7 mares (live version from TV show called "Ensaio");
      3 - Ela Partiu (studio version);
      4 - Que beleza (studio version, this one will rock your world as well);
      5 - Não quero Dinheiro.
      He has more great songs, but start with those ones.
      Bonus Tracks from the other 2 Brazilian Soul Kings:
      Cassiano - A Lua e Eu (studio Version);
      Hyldon - As Dores do Mundo (studio Version).

    Not only does he change the vibe completely from funky/dancy to fragile, but he does that right after asking “you” (você) not to leave. That change in rhythm resonates with the message of the lyrics, in that they kinda mimic the shift in emotional states from presence to absence of the loved one, at the mere mention of it. It’s a moment of wondering. It’s a masterpiece. Too beautiful!

      Não sei se vocês realmente assistem aos vídeos dela, ou assistiram a esse vídeo, mas ela não analisa somente a voz. Ela literalmente falou nesse vídeo que a técnica do cantor, ou da cantora, não é tudo. Não precisa ter técnica perfeita, e na verdade as "imperfeições" transmitem emoção, e tornam a música mais real e autêntica. Ela pode não falar diretamente sobre a letra, mas ela literalmente, também, falou nesse vídeo que a letra não ia aparecer para a gente, mas para ela sim. Se vocês não gostam do cantor, tudo bem, é questão de opinião. Não significa que os outros pensem igual, ou que não tem valor analisar a música dele.

      @@karouakiva592 acontece que a letra perde muito significado na tradução. E também ela não conhece a realidade do Brasil, para entender nuances da língua! E além disso, o nível de comparação que ela utiliza como padrão é muito alto para a maioria dos cantores brasileiros! São poucos os que tem gabarito musical para entrar no páreo e não passar vergonha. O Belchior pode agradar alguns,mas a voz era feia, abafada, e não tinha um alcance amplo ou outra singularidade que fizesse dele uma unanimidade. Só a mídia não basta pra permanecer na memória do ouvinte.

    De repente a dor
    De esperar terminou
    E o amor veio enfim
    Eu que sempre sonhei
    Mas não acreditei
    Muito em mim
    Vi o tempo passar
    O inverno chegar
    Outra vez, mas desta vez
    Todo pranto sumiu
    Um encanto surgiu
    Meu amor

    É mais do que sei

    The way he sings "não, não vá embora, não..." which translates to "no, dont leave, no..." and the way he expresses the sudden change from ecstatic to lonely and the absence of that previous warmth, beautifully translating that feeling of heartbreak and being left by a loved one, just genius

    I am Brazilian and I consider Tim Maia's voice to be the best in our music. As a contribution, I would like to add that he was an extreme perfectionist, he fought a lot with musicians, he fired people for small mistakes and he would leave TV shows if there were technical errors. When someone is very demanding about something in Brazil, it is common to say "the person is almost a Tim Maia in a certain subject", which is why his work is of such high quality.

    Hi Beth! I think you should definitely check out a legendary Brazilian singer, Jair Rodrigues, especially his powerful performance of the song "Disparada." His voice is incredibly expressive, with a remarkable ability to convey deep emotion and storytelling through his singing. He has an impressive vocal range, dynamic control, and a unique ability to mix strength and subtlety in his interpretations. "Disparada" is a perfect example of his rich tone, versatility, and the raw passion he brings to every note. I think you would love his artistry!

    Cool! Please, react to Elis Regina live on RAI TV, 1972. Classy, powerful, extremely complex in terms of harmony. I'd like you to consiser that: most of the songs Elis sings are harmoniously complex, which makes it a loooot harder to sing. And she simply floats through them, something I have never seen any internacional singer do (including the jazz legends)

    each part of the voice chosen for this song is linked entirely to the song's lyrics, as at the beginning he demonstrates his weakness and sensitivity to talk about how much he misses her, and then in "Voce" (you) the strength she has in his life, each breathing and falsetto have their reason and that's beautiful...
