    5:13 can we divide the 15 in the numerator by the 5 in the denominator to five us y = 3-x?

    • @hsmathsolutions
      @hsmathsolutions  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      You have to be careful when simplifying like that. You’ll need to divide both terms by the 5. So you’ll end up with y=3-x/5. Or y=3-(1/5)x.

    I need help with one that wasn't on here: KX+3X=4 ;X (for X)

    • @hsmathsolutions
      @hsmathsolutions  6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Since all terms with an X are on one side of the equation and all terms without an X are on the other side, you're ready to factor out the X from the two terms on the left. It will look like this, X(K+3)=4. From there, divide both sides by K+3, thus isolating X on the left side of the equation. X=4/(K+3). Hope this helps.

    At about 11:30 when you show another way to solve from the point 3/y = 7+2x (rather than multiplying both sides by 'y') how about this:
    "Flip" the 3/y (reciprocal) and the 7+2x/1 to get: y/3 = 1/7+2x. Now, multiply both sides by 3 to isolate y; finish with y=3/7+2x. Nice, right? (That may be what you're trying to show at 11:30+ but don't make explicit. You simply say, "You can switch 'em")
