The views you get onto the landscaped garden are beautiful. I can imagine how lovely it will be during all four seasons. The painting fits perfectly in the space. Such a well considered and designed space inside and out.
The problem with big windows overlooking a garden is that lots of birds see the reflection of the garden in the windows and fly straight into them, with fatal consequences. I've had to stuck lots of cut-outs on such windows to create a "barrier" visible to birds and thus reduce the number of fatalities but I still find a dead bird under the window occasionally.
Such an architecturally lovely room - love the modernist vibe with the stone. My goodness, what a wonderful property. I love trees, always changing with the seasons and watching/ hearing the leaves rustling. 💕💕
This room is absolutely beautiful! I would not have it completely different furnished than the other rooms, but you can get a great result with just an element of something here and there to bind the house together.
Perfect spot for the play room for the next couple of years. You can peer in on the kids from the kitchen and they can watch nature in action. Beautiful space! Kevin McCloud would, I’m certain, be impressed 😂

It's lovely Ruth, very dramatic and I love the views of the landscape. Lavender would look lovely at the top of the stairs where the dirt patch is. Mr Bear needs to have the chair for himself, he looks so content - I wouldn't bother with the reupholstering.

Gorgeous!! Every element of it! The stone wall that meets the freshly plastered wall inside, the colour, the artwork, THAT VIEW!! I have rock walls (my husband built) in my garden, albeit with an Australian native garden and I love them. They look especially great with ornamental grasses that are soft and wispy. The contrast is fab. Thanks for sharing. X

It’s probably to late but a beautiful mid century modern wood burning fireplace would look gorgeous in that room. We have an orange one in our 4 seasons room and I really love it. It came with the house. They are quite pricey to just go buy one. A water fountain would be amazing outside maybe on the terrace? The sound of water is so relaxing. Have you ever watched Garden Answer? Laura has some nice ones. You’ve created a nice space.

Just another suggestion on a rug neutral with some accents of the exterior landscape colors to further bring in the beautiful outdoors. You have very beautiful environment to enjoy your family in. I agree, color is an unknown until it’s in the space. 😍
Ruth, it is so, so beautiful. Everything about it. I hope you're going to spend some part of Christmas in there! I can only imagine how stunning it would be with a tree. Not that it needs it - just what a gorgeous marrying of old and new.
Your new dining room is spectacular! The views of Barry and your new terrace are just amazing, although I’m quite a fan of your window and stone wall too! I love the idea of ground cover above your terrace. You may want to find one that is evergreen so it’s beautiful year round. I have some Evergreen Vinca that withstands our harsh Winters and it displays a lovely purple-blue flower in the Spring... but it really spreads so you have set up barriers so it doesn’t choke out other plantings. Also, perhaps some substantial pots/urns with seasonal flowers, greenery and/or random decorations would be a lovely addition to the view beyond those glorious walls of windows! A neighbor of mine has several large urns (scale is everything!) that they have changed out for each season, and often for holidays too. They always look fabulous like something you would find in a grand hotel with huge sticks of curly willow, or several branches (small trunks) of birch in and amongst the seasonal floral arrangements and often special ornamentation! They are quite stunning and something similar would be gorgeous on your terrace or against the retaining wall in front of Barry! (I have to say, I love that you named your statue, Barry!!!) 😁 It will be so fun deciding all the wonderful things you can do to vary those beautiful views as the seasons change and creates a new scene for you to enjoy! You have such a spectacular little oasis and I’m sure those views will bring you hours and hours of happiness! 🥰😍🥰😍🥰

I mean it looks bloody stunning and I’m kinda sad I haven’t got that beautiful room. Need to own a house first but it’s a genius idea especially next to the Georgian. It's a massive shame u chose to not use more environmentally friendly ways to heat that room, such as geothermal underfloor heating. Budget clearly isn't an issue, esp when spending £200 to pay someone to suggest paint colours 'that so many people are doing'. What a bubble to exist in.
