Floatzel is popular because of the anime. I never saw the official Buizel artwork until I began seeing your videos. I didn’t even use one, so I didn’t notice how bad its sprites and models were (it doesn’t smile for some reason and looks depressed in the games). The anime was enough to convince its coolness when Ash used one. Then people saw Floatzel with Crasher Wake (having the effect reversed: Good looking in the game but ugly in the anime). But people already had Buizel to mimic Ash due to its cool performances, so they saw and loved Floatzel before the anime could snap people out of it. Shellos made me miss my chance using, and I regret it since Sonic Boom is more reliable and cooler than Tackle.
As someone who doesn't really have the time or desire to shiny hunt like mad, I really appreciate the increased odds of finding them. But I totally understand how you feel tho, it used to feel like you found an actual treasure before.
100%. I'd love to go shiny hunting for hours but unfortunately, with my schedule, that's just not possible. This increased odds really helped me get that rush of finding my first shiny in the game, and it still felt rare since I don't have the luxury of playing hours to go hunting for more.
Shiny odds haven't increased. We are just seeing more shinies because we are getting more spawns per frames. Which means every time you enter an area you're at least guaranteed to encounter at least 1 shiny most of the time (not always). Meanwhile in previous games you had to have a random encounter to view if shiny or not.
I prefer shinies being widely available as I am sick of the price gouging market surrounding them, also getting shinies in arceus is a natural reward for the grindy gameplay loop setup, versus Idk the raids with lackluster rewards outside of getting a shiny in sword and shield, or driving to my local gamestop to pick up a shiny pokemon voucher.
Agreed. I like that shinies aren't as rare as in other games. I love exploring so it's always a treat to hear the little shiny sound while I'm trying to complete a task or something. If the odds were lower and that just about never happened, it would be like taking a bit of the unpredictability out of the game
@@LexYeen more of the GTS thing. People will want ludicrous legendaries or a mythic for a shiny. Like give me a lv 1 Magearna for thus Shiny geodude! That kind if gouging.
I have to wonder why people bother BUYING pokemon, or gambling for TH-cam givaway mons for that matter. They're always hacked or glitched dupes, typically ripped straight from FREE public PKM file (PoKemon Metadata file) shares and saves.
Was with you up until #1. Shiny hunting shouldnt be a full time job. I would def be okay with making outbreak like 1/514 or something so they are a little more rare, but 1/4096 is just stupid.
I appreciate the new Shiny odds. I don’t have time to spend 10s of hours shiny hunting. I usually only have a chance to play a few hours a week. I don’t mind spending a bit extra time to get the shiny version of one of my favorite Pokémons. I just can’t spend hours on end doing it. It gets tedious.
I like the shiny odds on here. I can't stand 1000 plus resets to get pokemon. That's not fun at all. For a color change, not even secret stat increases or anything.
That's a good point. Shiny odds are increased to give that experience to people like me who cannot play for an insane amount of time. And for anyone who does have an insane amount of time, they can look forward to hunting for shiny alpha pokemon.
Yeah, Zoroark is only available late in the game. So what? As soon as I got access to the Alabaster Icelands, I immediately booked it to a location where it can be found, caught it, and sacked one of my team members for it. Was it under-leveled? Yes, but it doesn't take long to level it up when you go defeat or catch the alpha Blissey in the Obsidian Fieldlands and also use the Exp. Candy L it can drop.
Well that and it's underwhelming movepool, a super strong Pokemon with really amazing moves and typing can more than make up for being late-game... B U T ! This one does not have a necessarily impressing move pool. It was overhyped plain and simple and I'm glad I watched this video before considering it for my team
Espeon shit gets shut out by umbreon stop crying kid espeon was only good in johto cause of lack of psychic types and other regions have better psychic types
I think my biggest argument against these last few videos is that it is not nearly as important in this game WHEN you get certain mons. Since you can catch Alphas and other mons that are pretty high level...it is not as important to me to create a team of 6 early on that I stick with the entire game...there are soo many options that I regularly weave in and out several team members for 1 important reason: Dex entries. Since the dex wants to see certain moves and evolutions for so many pokemon, it makes sense to use as MANY pokemon as rotating team members as possible. This is not a traditional game, so having the traditional team building sounds like a bad idea. Also fair type are way over rated.
I don’t understand Gallade’s placing on here at all. Your critique that there are better Fighting types individually doesn’t mean much when Gallade’s whole point is that it’s a combination of the two types, the other being Psychic.
Gallade's my favourite Pokemon so I went out of my way to get one in PLA. It learns really useful movies, with Psycho Cut + Crit + Strong Style being deadly, as well as learning Drain Punch as soon as it's evolved from Kirlia
Gallade a great mon but why would u use gallade when gardevoir has literally a better typing and plus great fighting types like infernape lucario exist or even ur starter mon if u chose rowlett
You wound me greatly by putting my favorite Eeveelution here but I can’t deny the point you made on Espeon’s movepool, especially when compared to others. Despite this, I still had a great time using it throughout the game and very glad I was able to get one.
Scizor is amazing in PLA for the most important part that game pushes you to seek: defensive prowess. Just with its dual typing alone. Most of the sweepers in that game kind of got shafted by the combat mechanics, were turns can f you up. Scizor can take hits AND hit back, and he's a great false swiper to keep in the party for most of your hunts.
Does overrated means that it becomes bad in this game, or is it still good but got overestimated? I felt like the vibes of the video lean towards the former.
@@WarrenMetamorphCamel Overestimated. Most of the mons on this list are weaker in comparison to other mons in the game, despite popular belief, hence why he believes they are overrated
I am of the same opinion to be honest. Steel is the best type in this game, and even if you have Goodra in your team, they still play different roles since one is a physical attacker, and the other is a special attacker. He also got Close Combat is this game, which is a big plus.
I love the fact that shiny Pokémon are far more available. Just from a lore perspective it makes a ton of sense. There aren’t really Pokémon Trainers yet and so it makes sense there’s a lot more Shiny Pokémon then usual.
As someone who had to use a Floatzel on the Platinum playthrough, I can say this: Since it's a fairly good mix attacker and really fast, it can use both Surf and Waterfall well in battle, and with Ice Fang and Crunch has somewhat decent coverage. There are better Water mons? Yes, Gyarados is there, and if one likes to suffer, you can even attempt to fish Feebas, but Floatzel is just easier to use and does the job well.
I actually used Floatzel for the first time during Legend's Arceus, and lemme say with the new combat system, a super fast Floatzel can spam Aqua Jet in Agile Style and get so many actions in a row. My record was 5 straight attacks, lol
@@wintuwa9012 Yeah, this new combat system favors speed far too much, where with some Pokemon it's just absurd (IMAGINE if we had Regieleki here, it would be nasty XD)
I'm honestly confused why he thinks Floatzel is overrated. You basically never see anyone talk about it outside competitive D/P/Pt, and even then only because it made a solid water attack & tank. Overexposed in game? Sure, but so is everything you see first in Obsidian Fieldlands.
Honestly I had great success with typhlosion in my playthrough. It’s ghost typing is amazing and few mons resist it’s stabs. Coverage is important but if you hit most mons neutral with stabs then you don’t rly need converage
A lot of these pokemon I absolutely love design wise. I agree with you on every count accept for the shinies. Im happy they are so much easier to obtain. One of the quests gives you a shiny pokemon and that made me really frigging happy especially because of what pokemon it was. I was really excited to carch my first shiny as well, bronzong because it's in my favorite shade of green, though I don't care for said pokemon design wise. 😅 So far, I only have these two after an almost complete play through of the game (still working on getting arceus and some side quests), so I think the chances of finding them is still somewhat of a rarity, but as someone who had never caught a shiny before in any game since pokemons release on gamboy and finally obtaining two in this game and one in pokemon GO(Onix) I am very happy with this and the excitement of finding a shiny is not lost on me. 🤗🤗🤗 I just feel bad for people who make money off of shiny hunting.
I was offended by the Espeon add haha I had never used it and decided to stick with it in my first play through of PLA. I feel like Espeon never disappointed me dishing out pretty solid damage the entire time
“Umbreon” isn’t all that either there are plenty of dark Pokémon that are easily stronger and have a better move pool, Espeon is faster and can even take down dragon types if it has dazzling gleam in its move pool.
Hearing Typhlosion on this list hurts, I love the mon it was my first ever starter. I love the ghost typing, but I also have a shiny Dusknoir and shiny infernape so I’m tempted to use both of them. I have 2 separate teams, a team of shinys I am building, then my main play through one. So yeah, shiny moms are overrated currently but I love the fact that I can actually build a shiny team now. First gen that I’ve had success 😂
Someones Umbreon bias is showing 😏 This just goes that both Eeveelutions are meant to be a duo; if one gets more notice, people who like the other feels injustice. I know cause I see a bunch of Umbreon representation in the Pokemon franchise. I felt that Espeon (my favorite Pokemon) was underrated and should get more notice. Now that Espeon is getting recognition; some are saying Umbreon is now underrated
I think it's because Umbreon can run Power Shift, which swaps its offensive and defensive stats, so you can let Umbreon be both a tank and a offense monster.
Trying to sell the idea of shiny pokemon being a trophy? Of what, skill? it's a lottery system, where a casual player who doesn't even remotely care can get one by accident, and someone who's dedicated can spend 12 years of their life and not get a specific shiny, Quite frankly a system that rewards bot sites that prey's upon vulnerable people who wants a shiny is much worse than a system that's more rewarding, By that logic getting a specific villager from animal crossing after opening up card packs or watching 48 hours of footage of traveling to a mystery island is a "trophy" too, which HELL NO, I just want decent villagers so I can enjoy the game, putting the barrier that makes the experience needlessly difficult on a pedestal is ridiculous
Ok idk, like thyplosion is honestly amazing throughout my playthrough. Great typing, and movepool being swallow is fine since its stabs are pretty much unresisted.
I actually like this new shiny system. It isn't as bountiful as people make it out to be. I had to complete everything and get a shiny charm and perfect page a pokemon to finally net some shinies. Like I was almost 100 hours in. I do not count ponyta. Look I get the nostalgia of it. But shiny hunting for people with not a lot of time, who would like one, now don't have a better chance of being hit by a car. It's like EV/IV training. It's a tedious venture that was dated a long time ago. It's time for some changes and I'm glad PLA is doing that. Hopefully gen 9 follows suit.
So Typlosions movepool on the special side needs some love, however, if you run all ghost and fire moves the only two pokemon in the game you cant hit for nice chunk damage is bibarel and samurott, and I mean adding one single pokemon like Liligent covers that weakness. I think they needed to do that to kinda balance him, like if he gets energyball and earth power or moves like that then it becomes one of the best mons in the game
seeing floatzel here almost made me laugh because this weasel managed to pull me through the entirety of the last battle with ease and allowed me to beat it in one try.
Legends Arceus is different in that you don’t need a set team at the start of the game. You can pretty much exchange pokemon at every area since the wild ones are usually at your level if not above, especially if they’re an alpha
In other games I stick with my starter through the play through but in legends for some reason I haven't done that, maybe it's because Legends Arceus is way more catch and collect based and my team is often changing.
Arceus is the first game where I haven't actually grown attached to any of my team unlike other pokemon games, which is actually disappointing I really look forward to the affection that I end up growing with my pokemon throughout the journey and this game just...isn't there for some reason. I don't know why or if it's just me personally, or what
I get the disappointment with hisuian zoroarks placement in the game but where is your disappointment in the movepool coming from? It has ghost stab in shadow ball/bitter malice, normal stab in hyper beam, coverage in. Flamethrower, sludge bomb, dark pulse, and extrasensory, and boosting options in nasty plot and calm mind. If you ask me that's a pretty solid movepool, and it's stats and typing back that movepool up.
I disagree on Zoroark. Every game is gonna have late game Pokémon and I think Zoroark is worthy of being one. On top of that, because of the grit system, it’s really easy to switch up your team at any point in the game (I was still making team changes in the postgame). It’d be different if Zoroark were weak/underwhelming, but it’s a SpA MONSTER! On top of that, having Hyper Beam actually be a really good move helps it tremendously.
As someone who tried to use a Hisuian Zoroark, I disagree with your point. It has zero coverage against the Dark type and has a really bad movepool in no type diversity and geared towards pretty much only Ghost type moves entirely. Normal/Ghost is a great typing, don't get me wrong, but it just does not do any favors for offensive Pokemon like Zoroark and would be so much better on a tank. And literally everything in this game runs a dark type move and even if they don't, its defenses are still incredibly pitiful. Any strong 1x move should get it down to less than half of its health. The fact that you get it incredibly so late in the game is mind boggling considering you can catch and evolve a Haunter much earlier than this point. Gengar has a slightly better Sp. Atk stat and a better movepool. As much as I love Hisuian Zoroark's design, I can't deny that gameplay-wise, it's a direct downgrade to Unovan Zoroark, especially in a game without abilities.
@@gemini1189 I currently have a Zoroark on my team and it’s been nothing but great. I don’t find a lack of type coverage to be a problem for it for a few reasons. 1. STAB Hyper Beam is strong enough to KO most Pokémon in the game. Only three types are either resistant or immune to normal can be with neutral or super effective damage by ghost. And in PLA, it doesn’t have the “one turn to rest” mechanic, making it a very good move. 2. In a game like PLA, it’s even more unideal to have a Pokémon out against a type it’s weak to than it is in other games. If I have dark type coverage on my team (Infernape in my case) then it’s more ideal to switch and potentially even attack before the opponent can react. Admittedly, Zoroark is really frail, but it’s meant to be used as a glass cannon. While it lacks in strong super-effective STAB, it has STAB on the strongest move in the game without drawbacks (besides 90 accuracy, but most moves don’t have 100 accuracy in this game). While Gengar is a stronger ghost-type, Zoroark is one of the strongest normal-types in the game (tied with Ursaluna imo and obviously excluding Arceus).
Similar to Garchomp I feel Gliscor got really shafted in the moves department, no good ground stab, no good flying stab. When you have mons like rhyperior or hippowdon with access to high horsepower, there really isn’t a point to using it which is sad because I love Gliscor
I feel you on that one! I was so excited when I found a shiny Gligar and when I caught it, it dropped its evolution item but then using it in the game is very lack luster. But I can always trade him to another game later.
one thing tho, dragon types in this game(even thought there arent many) are quite buffed in the stab department, getting outrage WITHOUT the drawback of being locked in
I'm sorry but shiny odds being different is better. I don't want to spend months trying to get the shiny pokemon I want. I've gotten new hisuian forms, randoms, and pokemon I've always wanted as shiny within 2 weeks that I would've had to wait way too long for.
Mass Outbreak Shiny Hunting = Beginner Alpha Shiny / Unown Hunting = Intermediate Rare Alphas / STD Shiny Hunting (Starters, Porygon, Magnemite, Weavile, Sheldon, Cranidos) = Hardcore Shiny Hunting being easy is healthy for a game that doesn't offer much post 100% completion. It gives the players a motive to keep on playing.
So here's my opinion on your list: Garchomp - I Agree with you with the movepool but being a single player game, chomp's stats can make due since there's no real strategy here and also evolving at 50+ and obtaining it at area 4 out 5 makes sense. Overall Goodra just shafted this mon as you can get it at area 2 at the same level so... Staraptor - I Agree without its ability which in my opinion you could have pointed out, its just another normal bird Scizor - I Disagree, I'm new here and sounds like you have a vendetta with bug types. No super effectives sure but it has the damage and bulk and a good mon to switch to since you only really fear fire. Just sad no ability for bullet punch Gallade - I Disagree, I don't feel its overshadowed and its still a option but I will admit just being too much RNG to get and since this game has great Fighting/Psychic types, most people won't feel motivated to get it Espeon - Neutral, Espeon may be lackluster but being able to access very early in the game gives it a pass then just swap out later for a better mon if you feel the power creep. Typhlosion - I disagree, The Ghost type and Fire type options is Great, true but it still stands out and no real glaring power creep Wyrdeer - I Agree, In my opinion this feels like a support mon for doubles or in general. Its really just out of its element. If it had baton pass then this mon would had been relevant Floatzel - Neutral, In my opinion either for nostalgia or just really lazy since it already has the stats so why bother Zoroark - I Agree, people should try trading this mon on a new game, it felt great using it early on Shiny - Meh... palette swaps
I really liked hisuian Zoroak and Wyrdeer. I had both on my team, and I was really disappointed in how much they didn't manage to help all that much Floatzel though, that was the only pokemon I had that could even stand a chance against Giratina in the post game compared to the rest of my team. I never really got a chance to play with one before on any previous game and I originally started playing pokemon with diamond and soul silver being my first. But Floatzel just never made it to my team until Legends Arceus.
"...and after a while. [shiny pokemon] just lose their value." Me, who went 6 generations never encountering a shiny outside of the red gyarados and a shiny treecko I stole from my 8 year old sister back in gen 3: That's rough, buddy.
I heavily disagree to Scizor... I thought the same, because it lost Tecnician, but with bullet Punch it often gets a free hit on the opponent and has a good option for Speed managememt to compensate its low Stat. In addition, it is bulky enough not to be revenge-killed if the opponent has no fire attack. Which is incredibly strong in this game. And access to Calm Mind is also very helpful... I think Hisuian Goodra is a little bit overhyped. Inside a normal Pokemon Game it would be absolutely amazing, but for this Game it is simply to slow. The big Defense without any access to reliable recovery is worthless if the opponent often can hit you twice per turn. Shelter is very good but sadly luck based. You can not simply stall until it matters, unlike Lunar bessing. In many cases is Calm Mind as good and obviously more reliable. On top of that is the attack power not as impressive as Scizors, even with more coverage...
just a couple things i feel are worth pointing out. bullet punch in this game is outclassed by iron head as iron head actually gives a boost to action speed as well(despite the game not telling you) this is good for both goodra and scizor. also imo double hit is a bit better for the fact it boost moves power by 50 percent as well as that double hit actually has a bit more action speed than calm mind in my playtesting with it meaning its more likely to give you an extra turn. but yeah personally i think both pokemon are fantastic. goodra has so much coverage and bulk and good stab options while scizor just is an absolute unit and murder machine. id really say the one you choose to use depends on your team and what you need. funny enough i debated on who i wanted for a bit because i was trying to decide on who ima need more in the long run decided id want goodra for certain bosses since my team was a bit on the frailer side and i needed at least one or 2 super tanks to balance it out.
I know Iron Head have a speed boost too, but bullet punch is even more faster. If you play both its like Scizor have Crobat Speed. In my experence is the speed dfference between Scizor and Goodra enormous. Nearly every Status move is fast too, but i didn't compare Double hit with Calm Mind. I will try that, thank you 😉 I also think Goodra is a great Pokemon, but like I sayed it is a bit overrated. And a lots of People say Shelter is Broken, and that is in my mind not true. Maybe i had a different experence because I don't use healing Items in battle or just was unlucky.
Pokemon needs to stop with the super late game Pokemon. Honestly, they should make all species available somewhere by midgame in their unevolved forms so you can actually use the Pokemon you like and make the high level areas have evolved, high level pokemon and battles be the focus. This always happens sadly, usually the ice area is always at the end of the game when there is nothing left to even do.
I've used Floatzel in my first playthrough of Legends Arceus. It was alright. The appeal for me was that i got a shiny buizel literally in the first buizel encounter during the "tutorial". It was my first shiny ever and I had to use it. I saved my favorite water type, Spheal, for my second playthrough.
Getting to alabaster icelands and beating the 5th noble is NO WHERE CLOSE to the end of the game. The credits aren’t even close to the end of the game, because there is SO MUCH to do post credits especially when it comes to the main story finding out what happened etc. And then even post final boss there is still a bunch to do. Whether that be obtaining the shiny charm, building a living dex, an alpha living dex, shiny hunting, perfecting the Pokédex, hunting alpha shinies or hell I’d even say some might build a shiny living dex.
So hear is the case for Gallade he might not be the best of psychic or fighting but those types combined make it good for the enraged story pokemon such as lilligant archanine and avaloge
I’m fine with getting a random shiny every few hours rather than going hundreds of hours before seeing one (or having to jump through tons of hoops to reliably see one as opposed to having a few progressive goals). I don’t have the time for that.
Gardevouir/ Roserade/ crobat... these 3 have been on so many lists😅. No salt at all. I've only used hisui mons as I feel so many people will use the ole reliable. Love ya vids and work ya put in. Much love brotha
I disagree with your shiny take. I've played every single mainline game since gen 4 and I've only seen one shiny naturally and that was almost ten years ago. I appreciate that people who play normally will probably be able to find one without crazy amounts of grinding. Most people can't spend 100s of hours looking for one.
Decidueye deserves to be on here it's slow, no access to close combat, drain punch, or status moves and more importantly outclassed by Hisuian Lilligant
In all honesty I love the shiny odds, pla is the only game where I get rewarded for my shiny hunting (such bad luck….).and I appreciate the fun the fandom has in trying to get shiny alphas.I’m already working on a complete dex, complete alpha dex, complete shiny dex,and complete shiny alpha dex in this game
Won't lie, I choose Typhlosion at first for my blind playthrough and I felt disappointed that I put him away the moment I got an Alpha Rapidash. Just wasn't all that great to me and its design put me off and made me wish I choose Oshawatt. Also, I too was overhyped for Hisuian Zoroark, but by the time I got it, I had already created my fairly balanced team in their late 60's and didn't feel like bothering to train it up. This mon was their greatest selling point and they waited until near Endgame to let us have it. What a waste. I do however, disagree with you about the dislike for Shiny Pokemon. I'm glad its a little easier to obtain and that they're far more common these days. I get people put more value in something that's hard to obtain, but there are also some that really like ascetic over rarity and some just want the colors, simply for looks and nothing else. Hell, I wish Gamefreak would let us customize Pokeballs and give Pokemon changes in colors and add outfits, to make them feel all the more personal to us as players. *THAT* would be fun.
I really disagree about Hisuian Typhlosion. Yeah, there are other good options for Fire and Ghost types in the game, but I don't think that Hisuian Typhlosion is a bad option at all. It has a pretty good movepool and stats going for it. It does need more special moves for coverage, but Thunder Punch and Drain Punch definitely aren't bad. I love Buizel and Floatzel. Again, there are other good Water options, but it has a cute design, pretty decent movepool and is able to work well as the Water type team member. I can understand what you're saying about Shiny Hunting. I know that plenty of people enjoy the grind to find one and making it feel more rewarding. However, given how time consuming and tedious that has always been, I'm perfectly happy with having better odds at Shiny Hunting. Making Shiny Pokemon more accessible for people is pretty great and it feels especially fitting for Legends Arceus given the emphasis on catching in general.
Not gonna lie, my PLA experience was basically the antithesis of everything MU has said these past couple of lists - I actively tried and dropped both Goodra and Rhyperior during my playthrough, I kept both Typhlosion and Scizor for almost the entire game ( including against Palkia and VoloTina ), and I even actively swapped Gallade and Garchomp onto my team towards the end. Scizor in particular wound up being the MVP of my entire run, with the only other mon that ended up being anywhere near as useful / critical being Sylveon.
I see what you mean abt shinies in arceus, but at the same time i rarely have time to play so the boosted odds feel really nice, regardless of how long it took to get lol. Simply dont have the time to spend hours a day on hunting
One one hand, I get where you're coming from on how it feels like shinies are becoming less special. On the other hand, my luck in finding them is ass so I appreciate the help. The only shiny I've ever caught with the original odds was a disgusting shiny watchog that I hope stays in pokemon home purgatory for good.
Typhlosion is definitely the best starter. He outspeeds almost everything and has a great Spatk. He gets access to calm mind so he can get both offensive and defensive boost in one turn. He has strong stab moves like flametrower and shadow ball with 100% accuracy. He doesn't miss moves like samurott and doesn't have a 4x weakness with low speed like decidueye. You can opt also to give your typhlosion a mixed set with thunder punch/wild charge and a non negative nature for Atk.
For me Wyrdeer was great but that might have had more to do with my overall team composition. Sylveon losing Moonblast though? Oh man, that hit me hard.
I've played through the game twice (well beating the main story NOT doing post game yet) with the first time being with Oshawott and the second being with Rowlet. I don't really see myself using Cyndaquil because fully evolved into a Fire/Ghost in a game where darn near every Pokemon knows a Dark move like Crunch or Night Slash...no thank you!
I agree with the shiny odds! I only shiny hunt in gen 3 because in gen 3 and 4 shinies feels like a reward! Nowadays shinies has completely lost their value.
Could NOT disagree more about your #1. Other than this game and Pokemon go, I can not recall coming across a shiny during a regular play through, so the fact that I actually can in this game is extremely refreshing.
bro i don't agree, i used half of theese pokemon and they're very good and wtf? zoroark, typhlosion, and wyrdeer? and shinys? wow i really can't understand what's in your head
Not to smack talk the umbreon fans but isn’t Umbreon the worst eeveeolution in Legend Arceus. It’s move set is just as bad as Espeon but at least Espeon has power behind its attacks compare to Umbreon who’s highest attacking stat is 65. Other tank Pokémon can also just do more damage than it like Ursaluna, Steelix, Goodra and etc.
Honestly ran across a shiny alpha geodude as a random encounter and it felt great, realizing how rare of an occurrence this is as opposed to mass outbreaks. Honestly probably the rarest shiny I have besides a HG event mew, though it is far easier to spot shinies in the overworld
Here's a fun comment for you: I love and respect your videos and your opinions but I often take the exact opposite approach because I like the added challenge. Bug type is lackluster? Gotta use one! Normal/Flying isn't viable in this game? Gimme one of those! Can't get it until late in the game? Guess I'll only use 5 Pokémon until I can get it!
Uh for flotzel you said it has no coverage for grass types? Im losing my faith in you knowing pokemon cause ice moves are definitely coverage for grass lol
Gallade is not overrated at all in my opinion. I think it’s true it’s weaker without its mega, but I think it’s just as good as fighting a as infernape. It has higher attack and a great movepool. And in the other games you can use it for more defensive purposes like wide and quick guard and feint to break protect or use a beat up/justified set. You wouldn’t believe how many people I caught off guard.
While I can understand being annoyed at shines slowly losing their value, I think game freak wants more players to have a chance at catching one. In my first playthrough of pokemon black, I had over 200 hours logged. I never encountered a shiny. Not once. It's nice to actually get to see them now.
I used both Scizor and Goodra on my main play through and I really enjoyed both on my team but I gotta say I used Scizor a lot more. With Goodra it took a while to really get strong with the high evolution level and the rain mechanic. Also with how the new speed-based fighting style works, having a faster Pokémon to get two or three moves in is (imo) a better strategy than just pure bulk. Goodra was still a lot of fun, being a tanky Pokémon and having an amazing type combo, but I just think Scizor has more options for a game like this.
The reason you find shinys easier in newer gens now is because they are constantly appearing in the wild instead of having to run through the grass randomly with no idea what Pokémon you will even get

I easily dropped my starter for my team of shinies
Hey mystic it's been awhile 😁
Fun fact: torterra does get leaf blade in legends Arceus 🤔🤩
Yeah I really appreciate not having to play 200 hours to “join in” on the fun.
@@Mudkip971 No, shiny odds having severely increased. Look up the shiny rates, especially outbreak
I wish there were rarer variants of pokemon. Like shiny pokemon of different colors or pokemon with different characteristics other than color.
If the odds were lower and that just about never happened, it would be like taking a bit of the unpredictability out of the game
...price gouging? Are people _selling_ shinies? Like, for _cash?_ That feels like something that The Pokémon Company could sue people for.
As long as they lose shininess outside of this game, I'm fine with how easy they are to get in this game
I think they do
I think shiny alphas make shiny hunting way more enjoyable.
This. Normal shinies are more common, so naturally shiny alphas will become the new commodity.
@@beeperonithe2nd its typing though.. and it just looks so cool I cant resist it
" Espeon is Overrated" - says the guy whose mascot is the most overrated Eeveelution of all time.
Espeon shit gets shut out by umbreon stop crying kid espeon was only good in johto cause of lack of psychic types and other regions have better psychic types
@@calamity69907 I wasn't crying. Besides, Leafeon is better than both of them. 😁
How dare you disrespect THE best Eeveelution.
Nah sylveon is da best
@@Hellokitty34154 nah flareon is the best
Espeon is also my favorite 😍
Espeon is my favorite pokemon!
Wish it still had signal beam though
I like espeon... :-(
I love espeon too
Scizor is amazing in PLA for the most important part that game pushes you to seek: defensive prowess. Just with its dual typing alone. Most of the sweepers in that game kind of got shafted by the combat mechanics, were turns can f you up. Scizor can take hits AND hit back, and he's a great false swiper to keep in the party for most of your hunts.
Fire types don't exist in Gen 4 so you'd have a pretty safe chance of not getting destroyed by fire types
@@sterling8389 Okay. Thank you.
Counterpoint to half the video:
I don't wanna use Infernape
As someone who had to use a Floatzel on the Platinum playthrough, I can say this: Since it's a fairly good mix attacker and really fast, it can use both Surf and Waterfall well in battle, and with Ice Fang and Crunch has somewhat decent coverage.
There are better Water mons? Yes, Gyarados is there, and if one likes to suffer, you can even attempt to fish Feebas, but Floatzel is just easier to use and does the job well.
I got a shiny floatzel so that’s why I use it
I actually used Floatzel for the first time during Legend's Arceus, and lemme say with the new combat system, a super fast Floatzel can spam Aqua Jet in Agile Style and get so many actions in a row. My record was 5 straight attacks, lol
@@wintuwa9012 Yeah, this new combat system favors speed far too much, where with some Pokemon it's just absurd (IMAGINE if we had Regieleki here, it would be nasty XD)
Yup. Floatzel is just ok…
Don't forget that it can learn Hyper Beam, too. That's decent coverage on any special attacker, just because of how hard it hits.
I feel the same way as I also chose Cyndaquil as my starter and having Typlosion as ghost/fire typing is awesome.
I chose both Typhlosion and Wyrdeer for my team, and I'm definitely ready to put them both in the pasture. 100% agree with you there.
i gave up my typhlosion for the same alpha infernape that was shown in the video. it hurts but it needed to happen
@@Hoopvsgaming Yea I did that exact same thing.
I use a Yanma named Arceus.
I want to keep my Typhlosion. However, I caught a shiny Stantler without it coming from an outbreak. I want to at least evolve it into a Wyrdeer.
Should have chosen oshawott because even I even chose typhlosion in my first play through and it disappointed me a lot 😭
Espeon is actually underrated IMO. It gets consistently overlooked for mons like Alakazam and Ms. Rule 34 (Gardevoir).
I was offended by the Espeon add haha I had never used it and decided to stick with it in my first play through of PLA. I feel like Espeon never disappointed me dishing out pretty solid damage the entire time
@@stefanwolkenhauer3261 right, I love espeon and outside of my shiny one in sword and shield, it never really gets any shine. Lol
“Umbreon” isn’t all that either there are plenty of dark Pokémon that are easily stronger and have a better move pool, Espeon is faster and can even take down dragon types if it has dazzling gleam in its move pool.
The constant overshadowing of Gallade by Nintendo's Hoenn Charizard(Gardevoir) just pisses me off
I Agree, Espeon Is really underrated.
Someones Umbreon bias is showing 😏
This just goes that both Eeveelutions are meant to be a duo; if one gets more notice, people who like the other feels injustice. I know cause I see a bunch of Umbreon representation in the Pokemon franchise. I felt that Espeon (my favorite Pokemon) was underrated and should get more notice. Now that Espeon is getting recognition; some are saying Umbreon is now underrated
I mean my Umbreon is putting in work
I think it's because Umbreon can run Power Shift, which swaps its offensive and defensive stats, so you can let Umbreon be both a tank and a offense monster.
Gardevoir bias as well, ever since the Fairy type it's always being looked over Gallade, every single time
I praise Yanma way to much.
I mean i often have both. In my LA playthrough i managed a couple shiny eevees so Umbreon and Espeon were both used regularly
I someone who chose Typhlosions and is now my favourite Pokémon of all time I agree
seeing floatzel here almost made me laugh because this weasel managed to pull me through the entirety of the last battle with ease and allowed me to beat it in one try.
Legends Arceus is different in that you don’t need a set team at the start of the game. You can pretty much exchange pokemon at every area since the wild ones are usually at your level if not above, especially if they’re an alpha
I personally like the diversity of it. You can switch teams often whereas in other game it feels like you get punished for that sometimes
In other games I stick with my starter through the play through but in legends for some reason I haven't done that, maybe it's because Legends Arceus is way more catch and collect based and my team is often changing.
Arceus is the first game where I haven't actually grown attached to any of my team unlike other pokemon games, which is actually disappointing
I really look forward to the affection that I end up growing with my pokemon throughout the journey and this game just...isn't there for some reason.
That Thumbnail😂😂😂
I wonder why Espeon is overrated…..
What’s your name again?
Garchomp losing earthquake shouldn't be counted against him in this game. Every Pokemon loses earthquake.
In my opinion
The Shiny hunting problem is a you thing.
To me it’s better and I still feel very shocked when I find a shiny.
People who unironically think that higher odds for shiny hunting is bad. Should take a quick dive in the bathtub with their favorite toaster.
That being said, it's nice that the game is forcing us to look into other ground Pokémon
one thing tho, dragon types in this game(even thought there arent many) are quite buffed in the stab department, getting outrage WITHOUT the drawback of being locked in
The 85 accuracy does occasionally hurt, though. Same thing with all the "fixation" moves.
Indeed. I really don't understand his point of "people use Garchomp for stab EQ"
Crying in over 80 hrs game time and seeing only 2 cricketots 1 kadabra and 1 geodude for shinies.
I'm sorry but shiny odds being different is better. I don't want to spend months trying to get the shiny pokemon I want. I've gotten new hisuian forms, randoms, and pokemon I've always wanted as shiny within 2 weeks that I would've had to wait way too long for.
Mass Outbreak Shiny Hunting = Beginner
Alpha Shiny / Unown Hunting = Intermediate
Rare Alphas / STD Shiny Hunting (Starters, Porygon, Magnemite, Weavile, Sheldon, Cranidos) = Hardcore
Shiny Hunting being easy is healthy for a game that doesn't offer much post 100% completion. It gives the players a motive to keep on playing.
Umbreon is overrated
So here's my opinion on your list:
Garchomp - I Agree with you with the movepool but being a single player game, chomp's stats can make due since there's no real strategy here and also evolving at 50+ and obtaining it at area 4 out 5 makes sense. Overall Goodra just shafted this mon as you can get it at area 2 at the same level so...
Staraptor - I Agree without its ability which in my opinion you could have pointed out, its just another normal bird
Scizor - I Disagree, I'm new here and sounds like you have a vendetta with bug types. No super effectives sure but it has the damage and bulk and a good mon to switch to since you only really fear fire. Just sad no ability for bullet punch
Gallade - I Disagree, I don't feel its overshadowed and its still a option but I will admit just being too much RNG to get and since this game has great Fighting/Psychic types, most people won't feel motivated to get it
Espeon - Neutral, Espeon may be lackluster but being able to access very early in the game gives it a pass then just swap out later for a better mon if you feel the power creep.
Typhlosion - I disagree, The Ghost type and Fire type options is Great, true but it still stands out and no real glaring power creep
Wyrdeer - I Agree, In my opinion this feels like a support mon for doubles or in general. Its really just out of its element. If it had baton pass then this mon would had been relevant
Floatzel - Neutral, In my opinion either for nostalgia or just really lazy since it already has the stats so why bother
Zoroark - I Agree, people should try trading this mon on a new game, it felt great using it early on
Shiny - Meh... palette swaps
I literally used Gallade, Typhlosion and Scizor in my team and they helped me so much
I really liked hisuian Zoroak and Wyrdeer. I had both on my team, and I was really disappointed in how much they didn't manage to help all that much
Floatzel though, that was the only pokemon I had that could even stand a chance against Giratina in the post game compared to the rest of my team. I never really got a chance to play with one before on any previous game and I originally started playing pokemon with diamond and soul silver being my first. But Floatzel just never made it to my team until Legends Arceus.
"...and after a while. [shiny pokemon] just lose their value."
Me, who went 6 generations never encountering a shiny outside of the red gyarados and a shiny treecko I stole from my 8 year old sister back in gen 3: That's rough, buddy.
I will try that, thank you 😉
I also think Goodra is a great Pokemon, but like I sayed it is a bit overrated. And a lots of People say Shelter is Broken, and that is in my mind not true. Maybe i had a different experence because I don't use healing Items in battle or just was unlucky.
Shiny hunting was never a challenge. Just tedious and time-consuming. They've rectified that.
Mystic: shiny has became less worthless as they are easy to find
Me: Shiny is Shiny
So Mystic, tell me which psychic/fighting type is better than Gallade in legends? (Oh that's right it's the only one)
I’m so glad it’s way easier to squire shinies, at 25 years old I’d rather not dedicate countless hours tryna get one lmao
The only time I don't use a starter is if it doesn't fit the Monotype Challenge Runs/Gym Leader Challenge Runs I'm doing for
Decidueye deserves to be on here it's slow, no access to close combat, drain punch, or status moves and more importantly outclassed by Hisuian Lilligant
Oh for sure! In competitive it would be a monster is lower tier but in this game it's outclassed by the faster and stronger Liligant
I feel H-Decidueye is also kinda overrated due to H-Lilligant existing. EDIT: Also if you want more of a grind for shinies, hunt for shiny alphas.
The first shiny I got was an alpha Luxray actually XD
And I agree with my the shiny stuff in all my years of playing Pokemon I only found 1 in the wild
I think it would have been cool to give it Aura Sphere given it's lore
Hisuain typhlosion has so many weaknesses and it can't counter them crunch is a common move even grass types have rock and ground type moves
I like the increased shiny odds, ADHD brain hates shiny hunting in the older games, but I understand.
Espeon overrated? Absolutely not! That boy carried my team well to deserve its slot
You are definitely not someone who uses setup moves and just tries to go full-offense all the time.
Hey man, I just have to know, What software do you use for making your thumbnails. Would super appreciate the info.
Grinding out shinies is dumb, this is the first game that makes it reasonable
why would they make wydeer slower? Its literally the pokemon you use to traverse the region.
espeon more overrated than gardevior?? that’s hilarious! also starters lost their charm after gen 4 so they immediately get banked after final evo lol

ALL HAIL ESPEON💜💜
Not gonna lie, my PLA experience was basically the antithesis of everything MU has said these past couple of lists - I actively tried and dropped both Goodra and Rhyperior during my playthrough, I kept both Typhlosion and Scizor for almost the entire game ( including against Palkia and VoloTina ), and I even actively swapped Gallade and Garchomp onto my team towards the end.
Scizor in particular wound up being the MVP of my entire run, with the only other mon that ended up being anywhere near as useful / critical being Sylveon.
the way that espeon was literally the strongest pokemon on my team lmao
Disagree with zoroark did not bother me one bit to get him late in the game, and it’s movepool is great and it’s sp attack is insane
For me Wyrdeer was great but that might have had more to do with my overall team composition. Sylveon losing Moonblast though? Oh man, that hit me hard.
Don’t get me started on Garchomp and Gliscor losing Earthquake. At least Torterra and Hippowdon gets Headlong Rush and High Horsepower.
Funny because my gliscor was still hitting real hard with earth lower even with the crappy sp atk stats.
It lost moonblast?
@@thornelson1411 Yup :(
I've played through the game twice (well beating the main story NOT doing post game yet) with the first time being with Oshawott and the second being with Rowlet. I don't really see myself using Cyndaquil because fully evolved into a Fire/Ghost in a game where darn near every Pokemon knows a Dark move like Crunch or Night Slash...no thank you!
I just beat the game last night using typhlosion, the game wasn’t too hard other than some battles like that early game kleavor
I just used buizel though
I can honestly refuke that it's not easy getting shiny Pokemon at all!!! I have two only and been playing the game dinner launch lol
Honestly ran across a shiny alpha geodude as a random encounter and it felt great, realizing how rare of an occurrence this is as opposed to mass outbreaks. Honestly probably the rarest shiny I have besides a HG event mew, though it is far easier to spot shinies in the overworld
He didn't realize that hisuian goodra is a dragon and steel type lol.
Here's a fun comment for you:
I love and respect your videos and your opinions but I often take the exact opposite approach because I like the added challenge. Bug type is lackluster? Gotta use one! Normal/Flying isn't viable in this game? Gimme one of those! Can't get it until late in the game? Guess I'll only use 5 Pokémon until I can get it!
Respect
Uh for flotzel you said it has no coverage for grass types? Im losing my faith in you knowing pokemon cause ice moves are definitely coverage for grass lol
Unbreon is prob the most overatted eveelution, like its just a black fox thing with rings that glow -
They did do garchomp wrong but I still love you mystic ❤ also gyrodose > floatzeal in every playthru of mine
I used Floatzel on my team I was going to replace it but it came in clutch on so many instances I couldn't get rid of it
I love how he put hisui zoroark at number 2. he knows how much people gush over this thing
I haven’t watched it yet but as someone with an espeon tattoo I’m choosing to be offended at the thumbnail.
The reason you find shinys easier in newer gens now is because they are constantly appearing in the wild instead of having to run through the grass randomly with no idea what Pokémon you will even get
What, no Umbreon as being overrated?
Wyrdeer perplexes me. Why make you use an Agile style move 20 times just to lose speed? Did you use it all up?
my team is: decidueye, luxray, staraptor, espeon, zoroark and garchomp, so.......
Gardevoir better be on this list lmao
