I'm with Andrew on this one... how big of a cam did you put in. Comp has a whole line of extreme energy flat tappet. 250h 256h 262h 268h 274h 284h 294h. The Edelbrock cam needs a chip and it's 244/264 advertised. 194/214 @.050". The stock stuff is tiny. The Edelbrock is roughly equivalent to the 250h but with a little less intake duration and a little more exhaust. I'm running an xfi252hr on mine. It's a little short on duration, but has perfect low end for my 3/4 ton. 252/264 adv. 202/212@.050" .550"/.546" and it has a wide lsa for a smooth idle with efi. The toque lets you roast the tires from a stop and it pulls strong to 5500. I ditched my stock tbi stuff in favor of 4bbl sniper tbi.
Beautiful truck
What was the spec on the cam?
