It's kind of weird that I've never been down the Flint. I live in Limestone County so I'm usually on the Elk or Tennessee. It's on my list for this summer. Thanks for sharing.
I definitely think you should float it. It's a beautiful river. This is my favorite section but it doesn't run much bc that end gets too low in summer. Let me know when you can go and I will try and float it with you.
That section does get low. Anything under 7.2 ft you drag bottom and have to walk more than float. We didn't have to walk but hit a few rocks and dragged a few times. We paddled and walked a little upstream to check out some stuff.
Seems like good water flow. Very enjoyable paddle, no doubt.
