i make bubble tea at home everyday but i buy an uncooked tapioca at asian supermarket and boil it according to the instructions packet and I also have sharetea bubble tea packets from asian super market and I add milk…taste exactly like store bought. If I want more refreshing drink, i have a mango passion fruit jam to mix on drink that I also bought from asian supermarket and I just boba pearls in there.
I just did this recipe. It worked but if you are going to make this, here are some tips: If your going to use a thin liquid like lemon juice, triple it at least, and also make the boba bigger than you think looks right(they shrink a little.) I would cook them for 7 minutes on heat 6. Also when doing the microwave step, do it in sections of 10 seconds. I put it in for a minute and it burned. Putting it in for 10 seconds 6 times and stirring it every time makes sure it doesn’t burn and it all evenly solidifies. Hope this helps! Edit: also I used cornstarch, I’m not sure what to do for tapioca, sorry (Edit 2: thanks for the likes guys 😊)
‼️JUST SO YALL KNO: if you use cornstarch, they arnt going to be very chewy & they’ll have a soft mushy texture.. Tapioca is MUCH better. BUT if thats all u have, it works🤷🏻♀️
Written recipe.... 1 tbsp caster sugar 1 tbsp cornstatch 1 tbsp liquid Mix all together then microwave on power 50 for 40 seconds Roll into small balls Cover in cornstarch Boil for 7 mins Put in a drink Done!
Tips: You need WAY more corn starch at hand, just keep adding till non sticky It took me over 45 mins to roll the balls, so put something on the tv while doing it
I’ve never seen anyone make it with cornstarch, but as someone who regularly makes bubble tea, tapioca starch is strongly recommended! It has a stretchy, chewy quality, while cornstarch is similar to gelatin and not as malleable once set.
Bro i just tried this omg it was so gooddd i used mangos i would recommend to add them in cold water after boiling then glazing them it was really good and add it in boiling water not before that or else it would fall apart and i used cornstarch it was chewy and delicious tysm for this recipe❤❤❤ must try

Brown sugar boba with this recipe is easy: 1 tbsp brown sugar 1 tbsp cornstarch 1 tbsp water Mix all ingredients in a bowl, put in microwave for 10-20 second intervals, I’m inpatient and put it on Medium. Knead dough and roll into balls. Coat in starch. Boil for 5-10 minutes. I did only 5, I recommend doing more. Strain and put in ice water. How I drank them was with milk and syrup. It was amazing. I also don’t recommend normal ice, it’ll water down the milk. I used plastic ice cubes. (For all those wondering, I’m pretty sure cornstarch works for the fruit boba, not sure on flour) Enjoy!
@@ImgoodII Well, yeah, but it would barely taste like anything, probably taste like sugar, but go ahead if you’d like. You also could flavour it with vanilla extract for vanilla boba.
@@MK-GAMERV They can be left at room temperature for 4 hours or placed in simple sugar syrup and after that be refrigerated for 72 hours. You can extend the lifespan of them a little by freezing, but I’m not sure how much longer. I wouldn’t do it for long tho.
You guys..i tried it AND it worked!! Here are my notes. First things first i tried it while the electricity was out so u didn't do it in the microwave i cooked it at low heat while stirring continuously so it doesn't burn..it won't magically turn into a dough keep that in mind So stir until it's thick then put the starch in a bowl and put the mixture on top then just use your hands to mix and reach the goal It won't be so stretchy keep that in mind Anndd yeah i used corn starch nkt tapioca cuz i don't think we have it here. I tried this with cornstarch and it took me about two hours to make and in the end, it just dissolved in the boiling water. I was so done and ready to cry. edit: l made it with a mango
I made mine with cornstarch too, at first they dissolved but I made another batch and made them bigger and only cooked them for about 6 minutes. That seemed to help
i'd recommend getting some tapioca starch. it should be fairly easy to get and not too expensive in any asian grocery store. we don't have many of those in my country but it's really easy to get, even for me. i haven't tried it with cornstarch but i do know that the texture isn't the same. tapioca starch is much more ... glibbery? whereas cornstarch can easily be used to thicken sauces and whatnot. doesn't work that well with tapioka, i've tried.
