    I rode the 901 on Friday, impressed how quiet when stopped, I found the gear whine very intrusive, wondering if it was just that bus. However, your video proves that is the way they will sound as normal. Also thrilled that both these and the hybrid busses are now air conditioned.......FINALY!!!!

      Buses have been air conditioned for over 30 years

    Beautiful video! Unfortunately I missed out the inaugural entry into service on the LFSe as I'm on a two month trip abroad now, but I'm looking forward to ride this when I get back in July!

    Why does Nova seem so proud of a 25-mile/40-kilometer range?

      Because it enables super-fast 3 min charging at end of routes. You don’t need a 200km range for doing a 30km route in which you are charging at the end of line (in which most routes are, especially in urban areas, and in fact, most of the time, competitors only count a semi-recharge at each end of the line (around 6 min charging) and gives about 40km additional range, for 200km, it needs to recharge 6 hours in the depot). It reduces the cost of the vehicle and the weight of the vehicle. The batteries are however 40% more expensive then competitors, 40% heavier and have 2x the life expectancy compared to regular batteries in other electric vehicles.

    Rode the 36-903 from Angrignon to Victoria Square yesterday--May 8, 2019 Very few passengers on that rainy, unseasonably chilly day--which is why I decided to do it. The suspension takes a hit from our crappy pavement, however. Otherwise, nice, quiet ride, but the whine reminded me somewhat of the sound of our MTC streetcars motors back in the day and the ones I rode in Melbourne recently. Chatted with the lady driver about busses in general, wondering how these electrics will deal with severe winter conditions on hilly routes like Cote des Neiges when fully loaded with passengers. Same during hot humid days. What will happen? I well remember in the mid-1970s when many Newlooks would conk out in front of the Mtl. General Hospital after that tough grind uphill from Sherbrooke. Passengers were then told to get off and take the following bus. Don't you HATE that? Arrgh!

    Question/comment.... The Nova LFS CNG, the engine becomes very Hot in the summer and the Heat at the back of the bus coming from the engine compartment is unbearable. The back bench and back wall are very Hot to touch. This does NOT seem to be the issue on the Diesel or Hybrid buses. I myself have noticed the roof vents are "different" for the CNG and less roof vents. Does anybody else experience this issue or have an answer?.....

    Lol is it just me or do these buses sound so similar to the New Flyer E40LFRs that both Philadelphia and Vancouver currently have?

    Philadelphia's SEPTA is supposed to have something like this on two former trackless trolley routes, 29 Tasker Morris and 79 Snyder Avenue.

    Je ne comprends pas pourquoi le LFSe de Nova Bus est aussi bruyant et avec une autonomie aussi faible alors que Volvo a réussi à faire des 7900e très silencieux - comme les hybrides en mode électrique seul - et avec une autonomie bien plus grande de 200 km. C'est pourtant la même compagnie! Et les concurrents y arrivent aussi.

    People who live or work along the routes will be much happier with the electric buses than with the diesel they replace. Few will vote in a municipal election based on this issue, but they will all breathe better.

    is it only the 3 LFSe on the 36 Monk or do they have some gas powers ones?

    • @gmnewlook
      @gmnewlook 7 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      From what I heard, they bring them out one at a time so if there's something wrong with one, they can bring it back to the garage and do a switch. There's also regular Nova Bus LFS biodiesel buses running that route.
