Nicko, the drummer, is an absolute legend behind the kit. At a festival in the 80's Tommy Lee and Lars Ulrich were watching sidestage in amazement. With Tommy later saying "Nicko's a fucking octopus. 😄🤘
Back to Iron Maiden!!! I absolutely loved your previous reactions to this band. We need more!!! So many terrific songs that have yet to be reacted to on You Tube yet from this band. They are such great storytellers and how they construct their songs, performances and band chemistry is a thing to behold. Some lesser known reactions that would be fire are the Talisman, Wrathchild, 2 Minutes to Midnight, Powerslave, Red and the Black. Thanks for sharing your reaction Aileen!
The Trooper was one of the first songs my dad showed me and introduced me to Iron Maiden. This and Wasted Years was my introduction to them. I can't wait till you do Wasted Years. Probably one of my fav classic songs.
I'm so happy we're back with more Iron Maiden! I love these guys so much. They have a huge impact on me when it comes to their music. They do everything for their fans. Also, their drummer, Nicko McBrain 71 y/o had a mini stroke (TIA) earlier this year. He thought his career was over after being left paralysed on his right side. But after 10 weeks of intense therapy he was around 70% recovered and they could start rehearsal for their current tour (The Future Past Tour) that began in May. That's pretty incredible!
You can’t help but feel happy and hyped up when watching iron maiden they are the type of band that makes you feel something after watching or listening ❤
I was 14 yrs old when I came across "Somewhere in Time" album- that's was it and I am almost a 50 yrs old man and I LOVE IRON MAIDEN- It brings back many memories - thank you for doing the reaction and much love
I think this is from their "Flight 666" concert film. The concept of this tour was to play in all the places their tour managers said were too expensive to go to in the past, by flying their own planes this time. Bruce Dickinson (lead singer) is a licensed commercial pilot after years of training due to his love of flying and airplanes. So he literally flew the band plane, while another plane full of equipment was flown to all these places on a very long, exhausting tour so they could finally visit all these fans. It didn't matter where they played or what language the fans spoke, they were all fluent in Iron Maiden. It was a very joyous time by fans who've waited lifetimes to see their favorite band, which was felt and requited by the band. It's a great concert film, check it out some time. Love the channel! Cheers!
After playing the bass that way for so many years, I wonder if Steve Harris still have fingerprints. All the band are in a class of their own, but for me is Nicko who stands out. Out of memory, he is the oldest one and he still is the powerhouse in the group. What a drummer. Up the Irons.
I think adorable is a great word to use. These guys just want to go up and have a great time, and put on a great show for their fans. Actually liking each other is the only way they can put on great shows for 40+ years. I hope that 300 years from now, they're seen like the Beethovens of our era.
I saw Maiden last October, & it was an incredible show. I think they keep getting better with age, but they still run around like they were 30. Iron Maiden is definitely a must see live band. 🤘🏼
Yes Aileen, that drums are "quite a lot" ;) Not completely unusual im metal, but Nico has a quite unique play style, and the whole drumkit is set up pretty unique too, and he make use of it to it's full potential.
Let's go! They're the reason I picked up the guitar in my teens. I highly recommend the early days in the 80s with their first singer Paul Di'Anno as well. Their song Remember Tomorrow with Di'Anno on vocals has always been one of my favorites.
Half a league, half a league, Half a league onward, All in the valley of Death Rode the six hundred. “Forward, the Light Brigade! Charge for the guns!” he said. Into the valley of Death Rode the six hundred.
Seeing them live is amazing. I've seen them twice once is when ghost opened for them and the other was a band called The Raven Age (highly recommend) and you just don't kno where to look because they are all just doing some crazy things. And if Eddie makes an appearance an organ is getting sacrificed lol. And I say the song "the evil that men do" is one of my favorites
Welcome again to Maiden family... Remember tommorow live from sweden its perfect choice for vocal analysis ..trust me... Or phantom of the opera live 2013 download festival... ;) ....and if you want to see the most crazy funs react at Aces High - Iron Maiden / Athens 2018 ( Terra Vibe Park ) or Iron Maiden - Fear of the Dark (live at the Olympic Stadium in Athens - 16th July 2022) [MULTI-CAM] I bet you dont see something like that in your life...!!!iT WORTH IT...Hell on earth-atnens!!!
Written by bassist and founding-member Steve Harris, the song is based on the Charge of the Light Brigade at the Battle of Balaclava 1854, which took place during the Crimean War, and inspired by Lord Tennyson's 1854 poem of the same name
The Powerslave tour back when they recorded Live after death down in Long Beach CA. I recommend checking it out Bruce was at his prime performance along with the rest of the band
I love the historical songs these guys do. This was inspired by the Charge of the Light Brigade from the Crimean war; specifically, the poem by Lord Tennyson, which is also fantastic!😁
Yes! If memory serves, 647 horsemen only lightly armed, many with only swords, pikes, or flags (the Light Brigade), got detached from the main column. Their wrong turn left them facing 12,000 heavily armed Russian troops. Instead of retreating, they heroically charged the cannons!
Yes IRON MAIDEN seen them so many times in the 80's..let me tell you aoleen ..they never disappointed..some of the best concerts EVER..🙏😎shame that their nit in the Roch n Roll HOF..its a crime
Aileen you have just as much energy as Iron Maiden!🤟🤟 They are a great band and have many great songs. I have seen them a few times and enjoyed every one of their shows! Eddie always energizes the crowd! Keep Rockin! Luv ya Aileen❤💛
Neil Peart Drum Solo - Frankfurt. Calling it a "drum solo" is an understatement. And you have never seen a drum kit like his. It's bucket list music history.
Nicko is a Beast. No double bass. says it's cheating. But Neil Peart wasn't human. I've seen Rush many times, just for the 20 minute drum solo. 360 kit and used every tom. His head so steady you could rest a beer on top of his beany. RIP Neil Peart.
Iron Maiden is my favorite band and having seen them over a dozen times, they never disappoint. You made a great point about their smiles. They always look like they're having a great time on stage and that resonates through the crowd whether it's 10,000 or 100,000 people, metal and fun together is infectious.
Great reaction here to the mighty Iron Maiden! Yesss...that is a sizable drum kit! Please also check out "Somewhere in Time" and "Number of the Beast" ❤🔥
This is based on the poem The Charge of the Light Brigade by Alfred, Lord Tennyson The Charge of the Light Brigade was a military action undertaken by British light cavalry numbering 600 against Russian forces during the Battle of Balaclava in the Crimean War, resulting in many casualties to the cavalry. On 25 October 1854, the Light Brigade, led by Lord Cardigan, mounted a frontal assault against a Russian artillery battery which was well prepared with excellent fields of defensive fire. The brigade was not destroyed, but did suffer terribly, with 118 men killed, 127 wounded, and about 60 taken prisoner. I would like to see what you would think about Maiden's first frontman Paul DiAnno. Check out Maidens 2nd album Killers with Murder in the Rou Morgue, Purgatory, Killers, Wrathchild, etc...
IM are the greatest! they inspired a whole genre and so many bands. among others a japanese female bassplayer, huge steve harris fan, who founded an all female heavy metal band. they first wanted to name themselves "powerslaves", but then decided to name themselves after the halestorm-song. the band is now among the best in the world. and since you mentioned that you love drummers: they´ve got a sensational drummer, tiny, but world class. I recommend "lovebites - the hammer of wrath live 2023"( the show was the first one after a hiatus of two years and is pure joy and energy).
I saw Iron Maiden live, when I just turned 16 years old, Seymore, Wisconsin, 1984. It was amazing!. You have to check out the all female Japanese hard rock band Band-Maid. I have seen them live 3 times and they are the best rock band in the world to date! Check out the Loillapaloza live for the song Hate? !!!
This song is about the poem ‘charge of the light brigade’ by alfred lord tennyson, which describes a catastrophic british attack against the russians during the crimean war.
Start at 11, finish at 11, they always appear to be having fun, taking the piss out of each other. Neck swapping on the riffs no bad for a bunch of old fellas.🤘🤘🤘
+++i'm the last person to go on about adorable but the interactions between the band members always put a smile on my face. they seem even more playful now,
Bruce Dickinson (their lead singer) went solo... check out Tattooed Millionaire . Change your life !!! Most of Iron Maiden's songs are history lessons and very deep.
greetings and love from Germany ....finaly some Maiden again....a great song but also a short one....cause its a pleasure for my eyes watching you react to the boys. Thats why i prefer the longer songs..like Empire of the Clouds, The Red and the Black, Hell on Earth etc.
I saw Maiden twice...in Estadio Nacional de Santiago...the same of this video...is not a concert...is an expierence..it feels different...the second concert was with the full moon that appeared behind the Andes mountains...perfect¡¡
Back in the 80's this song and this ENTIRE album was our jams.... cruising in the 79 Camaro blasting Iron Maiden on the Pioneers.. I saw this tour in Houston... It was a Friday the 13th👍👍👍
IRON MAIDEN!!! I love this song. "The Charge of the Light Brigade" is the story the song is based on, from a battle during the Crimean War in 1854. More Maiden to suggest would be Phantom of the Opera, Charlot the Harlot and Another Life for Dianno era Maiden (1st singer) and The Book of Souls, Stranger in a Strange Land and Paschendale for more Dickinson era Maiden. 1st Maiden song I ever heard was 2 Minutes to Midnight and I've been hooked ever since. That was 26 years ago now, LMAO. Thanks for another epic video Aileen! 🤘
Neil PEART live from Germany! 🥁🥁🥁🥁🥁🥁🥁🥁🥁🥁🥁🥁🥁🥁🥁🥁🥁🥁🥁🥁🥁🥁🥁🥁🥁🥁🥁🥁🥁🥁🥁🥁🥁 Now that's a drum kit! Actually 4 drum kits together 🤨 Ohh Iron Maiden South American fans are insane!😵💫
Iron Maiden is one of the best bands of all time with amazing talent this song is one of my favorites the rhythm guitar is great and Bruce Dickinson's vocals are top notch the solo in the song is great also the drumming is very solid Nicko Mcbrain was a solid replacement for Clive Burr who was there original drummer the band was always complex in there earlier career they had a lot of tempo changes in there songs one you should check out is Phantom Of The Opera with there original singer Paul Dianno Aces High is another good one that you could do plus Revelations is great Powerslave and 2 Minutes To Midnight are a couple more suggestions
welcome to a maiden concert , What is The Trooper based on? Rhyme of the Ancient Mariner is another one that goes crazy. The energy is off the charts, Live version of the 666 tour or something like that.
Have seen this band over 40 years 9 times. Never a bad show no matter what age they were
Watched them this year in Manchester they just seem to get better
Aileen you are the IRON MAIDEN of reactors. With your PASSION and ENTHUSIASM you are always a PLEASURE and never a CHORE 😊
An Iron Maiden is a medieval torture chamber. Ok, I guess I'd let Aileen torture me if that's what she wants. 😁
The Trooper was one of the first songs my dad showed me and introduced me to Iron Maiden. This and Wasted Years was my introduction to them. I can't wait till you do Wasted Years. Probably one of my fav classic songs.

These guys remind me times have changed: Old rockers don't fade away - they die. Keeping it going till the end! :)
I love the way you get into the music, lyrics, stage performance. That's what sets you apart from other reaction channels. Don't ever change please! 😊
Up the Irons! Their onstage presence and chemistry is absolutely top shelf, a perfect complement to their inspirational musicality.

As someone who knows a bass player, i'm sure his fingers are callused all to hell that they are probably like Stone now :P
fingertips no longer have prints per say usually , they're round :D however the middle of the finger is still fine for fingerprints :)
The Clansman from Rock in Rio is one of a kind Live Performance.
BEST

2:42 "isn't that a lot". Neil Peart ~ that's nice...

Thank you,Aileen ❤️🤓👍
Iron Maiden giants 🎸😎
Keep the videos comin', AileenSenpai
I love that you don't just do every cliché song and explore. There's nothing wrong with them, there's just so much more.
The most played songs aren't always the best - agreed. Too many times those songs are pushed by the suits.
Your post perfectly rhymed.
Which songs of theirs are "Cliche"? Ive heard this guitar riff quite a bit, and i see it pop up a fair bit.. I would have thought this would be one.
Loved you’re Reaction to the Video like always! You’re such a joy to watch. ROCK ON!!!
'Oktaf Kanis - Come On' for the next reaction, thanks Aileen 🔥

Aileen you have as much energy as they do!!! 😊
Just. look. at. this. BEAUTY
They are nearly in their 70s and they put on a better show than most bands.
Nicko is 71 and is the elder statesmen of the band. They're all getting up there, but I hope they are still around for a long time to come.
Seeing them live is amazing. I've seen them twice once is when ghost opened for them and the other was a band called The Raven Age (highly recommend) and you just don't kno where to look because they are all just doing some crazy things. More maiden!!
This is based on the poem The Charge of the Light Brigade by Alfred, Lord Tennyson
The Charge of the Light Brigade was a military action undertaken by British light cavalry numbering 600 against Russian forces during the Battle of Balaclava in the Crimean War, resulting in many casualties to the cavalry.
On 25 October 1854, the Light Brigade, led by Lord Cardigan, mounted a frontal assault against a Russian artillery battery which was well prepared with excellent fields of defensive fire.
The charge was the result of a misunderstood order from the commander in chief, Lord Raglan, who had intended the Light Brigade to attack a different objective to prevent the Russians from removing captured guns from overrun Turkish positions.
The Light Brigade made its charge under withering direct fire from the front left and right and reached its target, scattered some of the gunners but was forced to retreat immediately.
The brigade was not destroyed, but did suffer terribly, with 118 men killed, 127 wounded, and about 60 taken prisoner. After regrouping, only 195 men were still with horses. 335 horses killed in action or obliged afterwards to be destroyed from wounds.
This song and electric eye was the very beginning of 578 2000s metalcore
