Dude those people are why she never returned I swear it’s so weird lol I hate the people that think they’re personally owed something from a creator due to their mismanagement of their parasocial relationships. You cannot have expectations from any creator to do anything that’s good for anyone but them, like they don’t owe you content, etc. poor Jenna. I can’t imagine any of the last few years have been easy, but I’m just happy she’s happy and loved and I’m really glad that bish bought her gorgeous home before any of the fallout because she totally deserves to be happy, and I respect her as a human being that she’s doing what she feels best for HER. Because at the end of the day that’s all we have. We’re only living one life, not controlling and manipulating people to cater to our happiness or lack thereof. Just wish more people would be respectful of the boundaries. Jenna owes it to no one to come back.

Guys… it’s legit. Sarah made a tweet saying “RIP. Wish it could’ve continued.” And another that said we needed to wait a bit to hear why VCG is ending. I’m heartbroken.
Edit: Sarah also wrote in an Insta story “I’m upset but there’s nothing I could do.” Then Sarah said that she liked working with the studio, and will work with them on a different podcast in the future.

Yes, this has happened to me. I had a friend tell me they heard a story from one of their friends getting their hip piercings ripped out. I just responded like “dude I’ve been watching Sarah Schauer for years”

I was one of the people who went through the “breakup” feelings when Jenna left. Like I understood why and I wanted the best for her, but just like a breakup, I cried my eyes out and didn’t accept it as reality for about a month, just hoping she needed a break.
I get you, I was actually upset and disliked Jenna for a loooong time. got me thinking about my parasocial relationship with ppl on the internet, so I try really hard to just think "hey, this is a creator that I do not know. I like their content, their art, not the person - because I do not know the person"
Same. Because I grew with her. Id watched her evolve and change over the years. Plus, I watched her during some really dark times in my life. She was a comfort to me, like a favorite TV show or book.
Yeah, same. I think when you watch someone once a week for years and years, it's normal to miss them when they're suddenly gone. Especially when they're a real person and you feel like you can relate to them
Yea I gotta say my experience with Jenna leaving was definitely a result of my parasocial relationship with her. It really felt like a death, I grieved and still feel waves of sadness every once and a while. Because it was so much like a death, suddenly not seeing or hearing from a person you care about anymore. I understand people asking Julien about Jenna, he’s our only link to this person we grew up with. It’s awesome to know she’s doing good, is planning her wedding, buying more plants, and spoiling her dogs. But she was like an older sister, and that loss hurt deeply.
What I love about Jenna and Julian is they are fantastic at setting that boundary with their fans.

I unintentionally pick up jokes from this podcast series and use them when talking to coworkers/customers lol it’s actually made for such great moments in my lacking social life and am surprised how this podcast has had in impact of me in good ways!! I’ve enjoyed and picked up some of Sarah’s quick wit of unhinged-out of fucking no where-fascinating sense of humor watching each podcast sometimes a few times over lol.
I love Brittany. She is hilarious, a critical thinker, a very articulate and wonderful person. I use deep southern and British accents at work bc of watching this series a lot and it’s been so fun to unintentionally pick up the humor of these two. I guess this is my parasocial relationship or some major ADHD mimicking…💀 Im so sad it’s over!!! Bold of me to assume this podcast could go for years and carry me through mondays. Goddammit

i am still half-way through so i don't know if they talk about this but why is this phenomenon not talked about from the side of the media person. like someone sharing their life online to the degree that we know what they eat in a day or what they feel about certain topics that are important to them like only a friend would know in the past.
