The Object 279 feels like it was built for War Thunder when the engineers made it in the 60s they were like "it will be a good design comrade trust me"
This feels like cause gaijin gave it some BS arcade stats , almost as fast and agile as top tier mbt's . Twice the tracks don't let you traverse better , it makes you slower . It's just for ground pressure .

At 8.3 it was bs, at 8.7 it trived and now theres a bunch of problems here and there at 9.0. Its good, but volumetric, xm803 and etc is pain, and when you know where to kill 279-its so over for them, chased 279 back in the day on gepard and killed it in roof
Editing can making any tank look busted at any BR. It’s fine at 9.0, just because I CAN kill Abrams with a Maus doesn’t mean it should fight them. The amount of times the 279 would just fail facing modern MBTs in game would be insane. lol penned almost every time and only being able to pen half the tanks with side shots

He is quite good but people being salty about 279 tend to ignore that what makes it good is its armor (which is easy to pen if you know where its weak) at higher BR its just another mbt but with worse reload, no smoke, and no apfsds. That being said I love 279 for its historical cool factor.

And what really hurts is that I participated in the event to get this vehicle, dedicated my entire month to working on it, and all I was able to get was the autocannon Puma. I could have gotten an epic vehicle that looks goofy while still being extremely effective. So close yet so far.
@Spookston they did something with the HP on the blowout internal doors. I found on Abrams about 6 months ago or so I was frequently surviving ammo racks from the front. - It makes sense, the path of least resistance for an ammo explosion doesn't change that much by just poking a hole in the armored door, but it was a surprising change when I started noticing it
You should try the m103 or conqueror in top tier. One has a large heatfs round and other has the apds... the reload is worse compared to the obj279. Or even try the is7 or the recent plz83 130?

this was the only event vehicle I felt was worth the grind. it is absolutely ridiculous... and it was 7.7 when released. it absolutely broke that whole BR range for a month or two until it was fixed. the nice part about it is that you can play it like a heavy tank, AND you can play it like an MBT. it's got the armor, and it's got the mobility.

Day 2 of proposing the "One in the Chamber"-challenge: You only get one shot per target you engage. If you kill with that shot, you can go on to the next. If it is not a one shot kill, you may destroy the enemies tracks with another shot, but you can't aim to kill until you have "reloaded" (go to a predetermined area (a cap for instance) or do some other predetermined action). Of course you can't use APHE or big HE shooting vehicels, as that would be too easy, but any AP / APDS / HEAT shooting vehicle is ok (you can of course also just use the AP round on an otherwise APHE tank). I propose the (finnish) Charioteer Mk VII or the (finnish) T54 using APDS for this challenge. I'd love to see you try it! (This challenge is of course inspired by the CoD gamemode)
In regards to the 279 being used in a certain conflict that shan’t be named out of desperation it’s a matter of finding the 130mm ammo for it and all the other maintenance involved once it’s back up to combat ready use.
This is funny considering that medium tanks and early main battle tanks were starting to rival heavy tanks in terms of armor protection during the Cold War.
Attempt 26 Challenge: For high tier support a nations MBT with its respective APC/IFV counterpart (ie Abrams/Bradley, T90/BMP2M, etc.) Challenge is keeping the other player alive and supporting it without stealing kills (breaking barrels, tracking, repairing, etc) it being a random should help make it interesting.
Watching these last few videos and here the joy and laughter in your voice has been great. I wish I had a suggestion that would lead to as much fun for you. Sweden is the reason I outright dismiss the russian bias stuff people like to throw around. I understand why some people feel the US gets nerfed cause the a10 is not right at all for a good example. russian bias though is straight up untrue. play sweden and play russia even in low tier and this is obvious that sweden is just easier to play. Sheesh they have a low tier premium with a like less than 1.5 second reload. With a 120mm!! and it has decent mobility and better gun traverse than most casemates. at 3.7! sure it isnt as capable as the object 279 in most any BR but that tank is an anamoly in the whole game really.

1:42 I have that same bull$h!T happen and that's not the only spot that has happened exactly like that and also when locking onto enemy tanks or planes the games lock on feature jitters and causes any type of atgm or missle to not go where its suppose to, like hit the enemy target and its close to the enemy and not out of range/distance and it bounces like his screen did in this time stamp section. I have 1000up on internet and use a 3080ti and a i9-14900K and really what could it be and seeing that there I wonder?

Day 2 of proposing the "One in the Chamber"-challenge: You only get one shot per target you engage. If you kill with that shot, you can go on to the next. If it is not a one shot kill, you may destroy the enemies tracks with another shot, but you can't aim to kill until you have "reloaded" (go to a predetermined area (a cap for instance) or do some other predetermined action). Of course you can't use APHE or big HE shooting vehicels, as that would be too easy, but any AP / APDS / HEAT shooting vehicle is ok (you can of course also just use the AP round on an otherwise APHE tank). I propose the (finnish) Charioteer Mk VII or the (finnish) T54 using APDS for this challenge. I'd love to see you try it!

In regards to the 279 being used in a certain conflict that shan’t be named out of desperation it’s a matter of finding the 130mm ammo for it and all the other maintenance involved once it’s back up to combat ready use.

Attempt 26 Challenge: For high tier support a nations MBT with its respective APC/IFV counterpart (ie Abrams/Bradley, T90/BMP2M, etc.) Challenge is keeping the other player alive and supporting it without stealing kills (breaking barrels, tracking, repairing, etc) it being a random should help make it interesting.

Watching these last few videos and here the joy and laughter in your voice has been great. I wish I had a suggestion that would lead to as much fun for you. Sweden is the reason I outright dismiss the russian bias stuff people like to throw around. I understand why some people feel the US gets nerfed cause the a10 is not right at all for a good example. russian bias though is straight up untrue. play sweden and play russia even in low tier and this is obvious that sweden is just easier to play. Sheesh they have a low tier premium with a like less than 1.5 second reload. With a 120mm!! and it has decent mobility and better gun traverse than most casemates. at 3.7! sure it isnt as capable as the object 279 in most any BR but that tank is an anamoly in the whole game really.
