    I realize that this video was from 3 years ago, but let me say that I am a huge fan! As someone who is also willing to take the risk and color my own hair, I enjoy seeing what other people are also able to accomplish!! I can tell that in this video you have a lot of thoughts swirling in your head regarding the process, color, how the base ended up, etc., but I think it looked perfect in the end (like it was supposed to!). I liked your color BEFORE you applied the Ion 12, but it was definitely brighter and even more beautiful post-application! Thanks for being willing to put it out there for us - I love watching your mini hair color transformations!

I am light blonde but it is slightly a golden blonde and i want a Scandi(navian) blonde. I saw yhe video of Elle Bangs were she talked about this and now seeing the video of you doing this. I like the result, it looks definitly lighter and beautiful. All the hairdressers say to me we have to put highlights in again but that is not necessary. I am gonna try this to become lighter. I dont know if i take only a N of mix with A. I dont want an ash tone but a bright blonde.

    Next time you color. Get some Matrix Instacure, spray it on your ends after you do your base application. It will even out the porosity so when you pull through /rinse by filling your hair with the liquid conditioner that actually absorbs, not just sit on the ends. Your hair looks beautiful. I used the 10v yesterday to tone down some of the gold in my hair and blend more with my white hair. I love the results but I have to get used to not having so much golden in my hair. I love a light healthy golden tone. After a while I am going to do accents foils with a golden tone.

    I just did this with the Chi Ionic 12N but it didnt do so much. I hoped it would tone the slightly yellowish roots but then i had to take the ash 11A or 12A i think. Dont quit know what the difference in results are if u use a 10A, 11A or 12A. Because they are all light.

    I have a dilemma - and no one seems to be able to help me. I was born with medium/dark brown hair, but used L'Oreal blonde dyes (for years) and became a bright, light beautiful blonde, even though everyone insists you can't lighten previously dyed hair with dye. For the past few years, I've only been doing my roots and a salon talked me into having them do that, and now my hair has become a darker blonde, and it's way too gold now (almost orange) and I hate it (so unhappy). They're all telling me the only way to get my light blonde back is with bleach. I have never bleached my hair and don't want to (I don't think my hair would handle it well, AND I NEED keratin treatments because my texture is frizzy). I'd be terrified to do a keratin treatment on bleached hair. It'll kill it. I just want to brighten and lighten my hair up with minimum-to-no damage. Do you think a high lift blonde dye with 20 vol. would lighten my hair? it's still light in the front, but my whole back and sides have turned into a gold blonde. Would love to talk to you on the phone for a few minutes, if that were possible.

    • @ambers_myth
      @ambers_myth ปีที่แล้ว

      In MY experience the purple shampoo ONLY works if you have dyed/bleached hair... I have naturally blonde hair and the purple shampoo doesnt NOTHING to my hair no matter how long I leave it on or how often I use it.. what SHE is using is specifically for natural blonde/virgin hair which is supposed to lift it to make the brassy tones more of a platinum/ash blonde. But only using a purple shampoo will do nothing.

    I think of you would have used the Ion High Lift in 12A along with thev12N that you used, it would have helped counteract the golden bit brassy spots specially in the back. To give it a more ashy look, use equal parts of 12N and 12A of this same brand.

    Is toner damaging? I have platinum hair and I started letting my hair be for a bit and the top of my hair from my crown to ears and underneath my hair was extremely brassy so I toned it with a t18 and 20 developer I feel like it damaged my hair and I feel like my hair is breaking off everyone says its in my head but I'm worried. Is toner extremely damaging?

    • @kaileylogan3906

    @somegirljess Hi I know you are not a professional but you have a ton of experience and I trust your opinion. I recently bleached my hair and it now it's kind of a strawberry blonde. I didn't put any dye on top of it, do you think it would work to lift maybe a little and tone using a high lift? As I said I understand the principle of hair dye does not lift dye but I have NO hair dye right now, only bleached hair. Hope you can respond

    • @somegirljesskent
      @somegirljesskent  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Marina high lift colour MIGHT lift a little, but I’m not sure it would be enough to get you out of the strawberry stage..it might still be a little bit strawberry even after a high lift. I’d recommend going in with bleach again, just with 20 vol developer and maybe don’t keep it on the whole time. Maybe even dilute the powder bleach/developer with a bit of shampoo..then lather all over pre-lightened hair and leave for 15-20 mins. It might lift enough for you to then tone with a toner or demi permanent hair colour. If you really don’t want to bleach again, then you should probably just tone the level that you currently have..strawberry blonde is probably a level 8, so I’d get a level 8 demi permanent hair colour (10 vol developer) and colour it all over. This will not make you lighter but might help with the strawberry colour. Good luck! 😊

  • @TODOMATIO

    You are supposed to do your root touch up with high lift (or virgin hair)- not on pre lightened lengths. They say it will really damage your hair if you do that (can cause hair break off). You can use just bleach with 5% developer for “brightening” - never foil though - or even do highlights like that. It’s really hard to color your whole length! Just be careful please

      No, I wouldn't try this on dark hair. You would have to pre-lighten with bleach first :)

      Technically if you us a 30 or a 40 developer with the high lift color like HL-V HI LIFT COOL BLONDE HL/V 12.2 it should lift your hair 3 to 5 levels.

    😂 a high lift with a 20 vol

  • @TODOMATIO
    @TODOMATIO 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Dude. High lift is meant for the roots only with 40 volume. It’s to counteract the high amount of ammonia in it . High lift is to NEVER be used on pre lightened Hair. The high ammonia is gonna fry your ends. You shouldn’t use a cap either. Remember high lift even with 40 volume is gonna give you brassy results.(same color you have now, about level 8,5) . But the best high lift I have tried is the Paul Mitchell “the color”. As far as the ends not being bright enough you can try bleaching with high light technique- with just 5 volume, no foils.

    Omg. I’m a stylist and I have to say that saying that ion color is giving you what you want may be okay right now, but in the future your hair will not be healthy. Go to a professional. They can give you customized color and keep it healthy. They know that eventually you might need lighter or darker hair and can consistently give you right on results. I hate that people want to do their hair themselves nowadays and then come to us and demand a correction for $75. Use AT YOUR OWN RISK!

      Not everyone can afford the prices at a salon, that's why they do it at home. and to be honest the prices at a salon are way to high especially if your hair is very long. Just saying.

      @@DK_INTP that’s exactly what I was going to comment, unfortunately nowadays it’s really hard to find a good hair tech that actually knows what their doing and to not mess your hair up in the process. So many people have had such horrible experiences with going to get their hair professionally done while also going broke in the process. A lot of people figure they might as well spend a lot less money and just take the chance on doing it themselves regardless if they mess it up or not, because they figure either way their still taking a chance anyway. This is really unfortunate though for all of the hair stylist whom actually knows what their doing, because it steers the same people away from them as well, their already so scared to trust them because of having just one bad hair experience!!

    • @dawnr5158
      @dawnr5158 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@paulamartin2139 you are absolutely 100% correct, and it’s really unfortunate that in order to find a really good hair stylist it’s literally going to cost you an arm and a leg, probably even more than that. 😂 But on a serious note nowadays most people can barely afford to pay their rent/mortgage, utilities and also to be able to put food on the table for themselves/their families, let alone being able to spend a couple hundred of dollars on getting their hair done properly every so often that is, without any issues. So it’s sad to admit but I guess the saying is right, you get what you pay for and unfortunately if you want to look good then it’s definitely going to come at a very high price tag!!
