That's why I chose it, the dedicated transfer switches were huge and bulky. That switch I bought can be purchased in smaller sizes. I screwed up and bought one with more connections than I needed.
Thanks for taking us along, John! I first thought the 44Watts was at the 91 Volts, that would be huge. I paused to see the app said "13.6V". Thanks makes more since. 😁 Q: @ 1:45 - If you were to start over knowing what you know now, would you go with a higher amperage BMS? I don't know what the discharge max is on your batteries, maybe thats a good match?? Just curious. I'm considering building a battery pack, and always wonder what the magic is in picking the BMS that is most efficient with your battery bank. Thanks again! PS: Maybe you could mount some nylon webbing loops to the side of your battery box for handles.
Missed your question, yes I would probably go with the same BMS but their high amp model. But, I haven't had a problem with the one I have in real-world use.
Great video John, Thanks for sharing. I'm building my trailer right now and have started collecting my power equipment. I'm still kicking around how many watts/panels to go with. I'm sure you've mentioned it in one of your videos, but I can't remember what you have.
I think they are around 380 watts and I have 4. I am over paneled for my SCC but that is fine because with little sun I still harvest a lot of solar power. Put as many panels on your roof as will fit, you won't regret it.
Good detail and helpful commentary. That transfer switch is so clean and compact.
Very nice install.
