If I took a shot for every time you say “Yukaikaze is the problem” id be dead. Hes not even that big of a issue, outside of the fact that hes so much freakin bigger than the other leg. I understand what they were doing with the train scale and it still didnt have to be like this. Either the small foot shouldve got bigger, or the big foot should collapse smaller. Also the asymmetrical thighs are strange. The real problem is the pelvis and the fact that its not sturdy enough while simultaneously increasing how back heavy ne is. Hes the main reason the figure has trouble standing. Especially a shame since hes already a partsformer. The other major fail imo is the lack of outward shoulder movement. Even if you complete a the balancing act of a nice pose, the lack of upward shoulder severely limits dynamic posing and basically forces him to look frumpy.
As much i like this series and ordered the MPG 09, iam gonna pass on this guy and go with the Moon Studio version..this guy is just too fragile, i know takara went with the Toy stly e and actual train design, but man the robot mode just suffers. anyway nice review man.
Surprised people don't consider Raiden being not too big as an actual pro. Shelve place is a thing. It's unfortunate he fall apart so easily, because otherwise, his size would also make him easier to handle. Also, what other Masterpiece combiner? he is the first one. The others are 3rd party. The best comparison would be with MP Ultra Magnus, I guess, compared to which, yes, he would look a bit too small.
Way back when this was first announced, I was hoping for an 18 inch combined mode, because of a designer's (Hasui san, I believe) previous comments about Combiner Wars Devastator being made as a sort of stand-in for MP. So for me, being about 11 inches was a bit of disappointment. But I understand for others it would be a positive. And yes, while this is the first official MP combiner, I was referring to the many 3P combiners as MP.
just seeing him I have a feeling MPG Raiden would break on anyone even if they are super carefull that chest piece doesn't feel secured enough to break apart and man, It feels it got too much diecast on top and so little on the legs which would totally be of help with him standing... really a cool design, but just a terrible toy as a collector an as a supporter of people that likes to play with their toys instead of leaving them as statues
