My honest opinion Mayor Butts sold out Inglewood. Now a lot of browns & blacks are going to get pushed out. I’m 49 already went through that getting pushed out of Oakwood part of Venice in late 90’s. My family is lucky to have purchased a home here so I claim it as my second home. But we’ll see how it goes a lot of whites moving into the area of la Cienega & arbor Vitae. But like he said we good with them it’s just amazing to see it in real time but I understand there just trying to have a home nothing wrong with that. Have you see see how much it is to buy a home in Venice Culver City Santa Monica etc just crazy.
I read a story a few years back about how the residents of Venice were being pushed out of Venice to make way for these new people moving over there, but that gentrification began in the La-Cienega Heights section of West L.A. back in 1995. I read how the homeowners in Venice were almost like forced to sell, or they were made offers too good to refuse, and that's how gentrification started in Venice in combination with the gang injunction against the Venice Sho-lines. I don't have a problem with people going somewhere to find a home, what I have a problem with is the racist agenda behind it. I really don't want to see white people, Asians, etc moving to the Westside because they are the people part of the gentrification movement, pushing us blacks and latinos out. Back in the 80's and 90's, the Westside was black and latino. Now, it's white, asian, indian, everybody but black. Smh

Sad to say but MB is and was right about the Nipsey procession on Crenshaw & Slauson. I wanted to attend the observance myself but was unable to. I remember thinking how the show of unity between rival gangs that day (April 11, 2019) was likely just for show and social media and I was right. I didn’t want to be a “negative Nancy” given the circumstances but I know L.A. well enough to know that it was not sincere & permanent. I’m not saying that I expected things to be harmony overnight but it’s been nearly 2 years since this tragic loss and dudes are still out here killing with no remorse and still having animosity towards their rivals. MB was right not to risk going and sadly the loss of Nipsey didn’t change the vast majority of gang members behavior in L.A. like the world was lead to believe that it would the day of his home going service.
