Taking the big 5 aside (since I still haven’t seen the live performances), the songs I like the most are:
    1. Switzerland (OMG that voice)
    2. Czechia (captivating)
    3. Austria (funny)
    4. Estonia (powerful)
    5. Slovenia (catchy)
    6. Belgium (makes me want to dance)
Thought, from the looks of it, not many people will agree with my personal taste. 😂😂😂

  • @pn2360
    @pn2360 ปีที่แล้ว +7

    Few of my predictions:
    1. Croatia are finishing around 5th to 8th 100% - they're literally this year's moldova - and they're getting points with the juries from the likes of serbia and slovenia etc. and you said 200+ points with the televote - that alone is enough to get around 12th place even if they get 0 with the juries!
    2. the big flop of the year is spain for me - there's always one, and surely one of the songs in the first half will tank as a consequence of going around everyone else. This has MASSIVE jury potential, but barely any televote potential, and the song is literally CARRIED entirely by blanca bcos apart from her the song barely gets going and is very repetitive and stop-start, which to me isn't enough on its own to get a bucket load of points
    3. watch out for germany - going 21st is SURELY going to get them some points with the public (and maybe a few juries as well - finland most notably).
    4. sweden to win, and become the first winner in the post 2016 era to win bcos of their jury votes rather than their televotes

    • @pn2360
      @pn2360 ปีที่แล้ว +1

@@zsokapados5197 ok full disclosure i am a massive spain hater lol, and im really not trying to be biased but i just don't see how she gets points from the public, when if a song is not uptempo enough you simply will not get points. YES she will get points from the juries, and when I say flop i don't say 20th or something like that, i think around 12th or 13th - like i said above it is very repetitive (come on dont deny it) and doesn't really get going in a way that the televote will like, and then sweden going afterwards as well, a song with a bit of a beat to it. ofc there's that "this is different" factor, but i think it's different in a great way for the juries, but a bad way for the public, who will be swayed to voting for the finlands, croatias, germanys, australias, israels etc etc. running order doesn't help her but still

Italy was also fourth in jury vote 2021 and then they won. The jury is not going to give a massive low vote to one of the favorite songs they won't want any backlash and I heard that his vocals were actually quite improved in the jury vote show so I hope he gets rewarded there. I prefer to go with my heart and say Kaariya will just win. I am sad for Portugal she deserves a top 10 but the running order is not in her favour. I'd love to see Australia 11th as you say it would be a great result for them.

First time Ive watched your channel - interesting and valid predictions. Im a massive Kaarija fan and watched him perform in Liverpool both at the live semi final and the eurovillage. These are the reasons I can see him winning the contest:
    1. He will definitely win the televote by a large majority. I saw first hand the reaction of the crowd in the arena. They went crazy for him!
    2. Whilst I cant see him scoring highly with the Jurys I can see him getting more points than people think because each of the countries know how popular he is with their own relative country -peer pressure! Also the song is in a native language and is unique and most memorable. Whilst the vocals arent brilliant he more than makes up for those with his high energy/captivating performance. I also think that as there are many quality songs this year, the points awarded to Sweden will be diluted.
    3. The combination of the above should mean this is really close and as Finland Televote score will come before Swedens (fewer Jury Votes) it all climaxes with Swedens Televote. I honestly see this being a two horse race despite there being a good batch of songs. Ukraine is a bit of an unknown hence the shortish betting odds but I think that although people still sympathise with the Country over the dreadful war they are less drawn politicly and I can see there votes reflecting this slight shift in feeling. I do however see them doing better than some of the polls as it is a good song in its own right.
Good luck to all and I hope everyone has an exciting/thrilling evening !
    David (Leeds/UK)

Surely staging isn’t same as performance. I asked chat gpt for clarification on what makes a good performance.
A good song performance is a combination of several elements, including the singer's vocal technique and expression, the musician's instrumentation and timing, and the overall stage presence. Here are some key factors that contribute to a great song performance:
Vocal ability: A good singer should have a strong, clear voice that can carry the melody of the song with confidence and ease. They should also have good control over their vocal range, dynamics, and pitch. ✅
Emotional expression: A great performance is not just about hitting the right notes but also conveying the emotion and meaning of the lyrics. A good singer should be able to connect with the audience through their performance and bring the lyrics to life✅
Stage presence: A good performer should have a stage presence that commands attention and engages the audience. This includes their posture, movement, and facial expressions.✅
Musicality: A good performance requires coordination between the singer and musicians. The instrumentation should complement the vocals and add to the overall mood and emotion of the song.✅
Energy and enthusiasm: A good performance should be energetic and engaging. The singer should be enthusiastic and passionate about their performance, and this energy should be contagious and felt by the audience.✅
Timing and pacing: A good performance should have good pacing and timing. The tempo and rhythm should be consistent, and the performance should flow smoothly from beginning to end.✅
Originality: A great performance is not just about copying the original version of a song. The singer should bring their own unique style and interpretation to the song, making it their own and creating a memorable performance.✅
Overall, a good song performance is a balance between technical skill, emotional expression, and stage presence, all coming together to create a powerful and memorable experience for the audience.

I wished there was a way that songs weren't known before eurovision actually starts, but in this modern day and age that's just not possible. I just hate the bookmakers have been predicting the correct winner 10 times out of the last 15 contests (with odds recorded 1 month before the contest). Every time the bookies are correct I end up very disappointed, as it's literally never the song I like the most ;)
You did hit the nail on Norway, they got points from all nations in televoting :D Spain's song had a really divisive nature as you predicted, but sadly most people muted their televsion because their ears couldn't handle it (like 3 of the 5 people I watched with begged me to put the tv volume down).

    FINLAND WILL WIN
1/ He has momentum and his rap song is more in the zeitgeist , while Swedens is just a rehash from 11 years ago
2/ Finland has the best running order coming after Loreen and after two ballods
3/Sweden will likely win the jury vote but she will not run away with it as there are other very good songs to compete against and share votes
4/ Sweden will do much poorer with the TV vote than most people expect ; you can just sense that's there's not much enthusiasm for a rehash of a 2012 winner
5/ Finland is both new and original, and dynamic ..it is in the zeitgeist !
6/ Finland will have a much more decisive win in the TV vote than Sweden does in the Jury vote ..HERE LIES VICTORY !
I'm not sure Sweden will even manage to come second ; it could be third !

My nerdly data analyst opinion: Belgium & Lithuania are bit overrated and Croatia & Moldova really underrated here.

It looks like that Norway wont be that high.
It seems that yesterday (jury) show her vocals were weak and the whole performance was lucking energy.
ps. Told you about La Zarra.

More or less agree but I can see Norway lower and Poland higher, and I don't know why i can't see Sweden as a clearly winning, maybe yes but non-eurofans aren't so crazy about her

There's no value in having a jury when a boring song wins just because it's performed by a good artist. Stop this jury nonsense!
