Saying that Prlja (Croatia) doesn’t have good vocals is a joke. The man was pitch perfect in a very difficult song. You can’t even compare it with Mae. That is disrespectful towards Prlja.
Dakle, spada u idealizatore onih za koje navija - no matter what - otud i generalizacija. Ajde, prosvijetli me, mi objasni taj kontekst.
I understand that in first half it's a issue, they stripped Austria from a good result and some others. But I do not think that second half is such a issue. Casual viewers do not distinguish from 13th (last in block1) or 14th position (first of block2) and does not think about running orders in that hypothetical blocks. So for example my country Czechia, coming after Finland also means that majority of viewers will be behind their screens on that time because they will want to see Finland. And while it's totally different song from Finland, they can be noticed by many. Second half running order is non-issue for me ...
I thought the same about Finland, but then I read someone on twitter mentioning how he'll perform after a run of great vocalists, which may expose his limitations to the juries, and I thought it may be a good point. (No shade on Finland, it's my favourite)
On the other hand for the televote it might be an advantage, as all those power vocals bordering screaming in a row before Finland might exhaust and annoy the audience, so his rapping might be actually refreshing. For me personally from Cyprus at #6 and all the way to Finland is a bit too much of vocal demonstration just by looking at the list 😬
Are the stars maybe aligning for Finland??? ❤ I hope so my winner this year!! Very happy with this slot Can’t believe Croatia 2nd last that’s a great slot does that mean they done better than we think? So many questions 😮
They clearly know it's between sweden and finland and wanted to give them spots later in the 1st half while still keeping 3 songs in between them, it was very obvious that they would put sweden before finland because of the break, still think sweden has this one in the pocket tho juries will be throwing all their points at loreen
I agree - the running order should be random, and so, each country’s props should take no longer than 60 seconds (or whatever is suitable) to deploy. That should be fair to everyone.
I don't think Finland got the placement in the end of the second half just because they want it to win (they might, but I'm not sure about that) but also because the Finnish performance has quite large props, and they have to think about the schedule.
There's my analysing : Austria is a great opener and I believe in a There'stop 13-10 I feel sorry for Portugal but I'm sure jurys will class them high ;) Rip France Spain Sweden ans Finland in the top Belgium will stand out the middle with his message and performance !! Israel 23th is good for their dance but in my opinion it's not a winner song -> top 10-5 Croatia 25th will be interesting for them ! It's a memorable performance so I feel like it's gonna be really high in the televote ! And I'm sure it will be top 10 in juries or even higher who know ? Because don't forget the blakans unity ;)
I am not sure if it was deliberate or not, but you notice, the show is more or less divided into 3 sections - 10, 10, 6. and the is a symmetry between them - 1) Entries 1-10 - 2 Automatic Qualifiers; 4 Semi 1; 4 Semi 2 2) Entries 11-20 - 2 Automatic Qualifiers; 4 Semi 1; 4 Semi 2 3) Entries 21-26 - 2 Automatic Qualifiers; 2 Semi 1; 2 Semi 2 I wonder if this is just by coincidence.
I would do random running order with ability to switch max 2 acts based on props (close to add break). Selecting spots 1) creates perception of preferences 2) removes the ability of musics quality to standout and win no matter what running order is
I really hope Croatia being voted in block from balcanic /eastern juries and then placing top3 in the televote. So sick of Ebu always trying to push northern countries... So sad for France and Austria that could have been contenders. I hope they will get votes anyways. Spots should not be decided by Ebu. Why not have Finland to open? If they are so good, they should win anyways... They have closed both first semi and First half. So unfair.
My thoughts are: I think the running order makes sense. This is still a show in tv, so the production professionals probably arranged the order in a way to keep the people engaged.
I agree, it's really weird how Czechia gets penalized everytime they are in the final. I will give you my vote on Saturday from the Netherlands ❤🙌🏾. On the bright side, Czechia is no longer a country that qualifies/participates once in a blue moon so I'm hoping for another great entry next year so you can be put in a better spot. There is no excuse at this point for giving Czechia a bad spot everytime
With that said, Estonia has a horrible position…between the best ballad of the year and a possible jurie winner and the best up beat song, possible televote winner…
Yes i agree... This producer-decided running order is unfair. I got lambasted online two days ago about things being pre-decided. I didn't mean televote-rigging. I meant precisely that when you give some countries good slots and others unfavourable ones which kill their chances, and this is decided purely by an individual or a group of individuals, it's unfair! I do not exclude that these people will have algorithms that give them a clear indication of what position will make a country do well and what won't. They didn't put Finland or Sweden at number 2 did they! They put sacrificial lamb (or maybe poultry given the feathers) Portugal instead...
Finland getting "once again" the best slot??? Yes, in this year's semi, but overall we've been getting the worst possible ro's like 1st and 4th last year and pushed back so hard by the producers. If they wouldn't have given Finland a great spot in a year we have a potential winning song it would have made clear that they hate Finland and want to make sure Sweden wins. Smh
I’m so happy for Germany ❤️ But I hate that Albania, Italy and Estonia are following each other. And Portugal at 2nd position 😭 Also Spain just before Sweden 😭
Loreen between two dramatic women in red: she's the one who must be worried, not Blanca or Albina. I think her song gets a bit bland between so much passion coming from Spain & Albania.
Very surprising this early running order for France. Usually bookmakers favourites are usually around 10-13th place. Italy very good running order! Can't wait for Saturday night
I mean I can understand that they’re early. They wanted to keep the 3 greatest favorites from the first half apart from another so with Finland going 13 and Sweden going 9, France had to go early to leave space between them and Sweden.
Quite a few countries, including mine, that continuously get bad spots and others continuously get good spots. Random allocation would definitely be the best way to create a fairer running order and eliminate all the bias...
I'm from Finland, so obviously I'm overjoyed by the spot they gave us. I don't think it's necessarily because of the production favouring someone, more I'm thknking, this is a tv show, first and foremost, and it makes sense for the organizers to have a great show. Looking at the songs in the first half, I can't really picture any other song finishing the first half, because they want to go to break with a bang. Austria, maybe, but it is a song criticizing the music industry. A great song, but still. And based on the crowd reaction in the semi-final, it would royally suck to be performing after Cha cha cha. Putting it last, at least it won't interfere with the slower songs. Loreen's complicated staging and the dramatic effects combined, I think the first half must have been a nightmare to plan. I hope starting the second half affects Czechia's chances too much. It is an amazing song with a powerful message and beautiful visuals, so it will start with as much a bang as Finland finishes in the 1st half. Another great starter would have been Belgium, maybe. Norway, too, but she already started one show, so maybe not. Looking at the list, I sure don't envy the people who decide on things.
At the end of the day its abt ppl liking/loving a song and voting for it. I dont care which spot my fav has, I still like it and will vote for it. The only less desirable spots are first and last. You have to get into the feel of the show and last also has a bit of "we can almost vote now, hurry up" feel to it. Ofc they need to spread the big build up entries. They need no props songs in between. Thats neccessary.
In defence of non random running order....we do need variety and contrast and light and shade. Imagine five consecutive ballads... that said, as u say Matt some countries seem hard done by year after year....France and Czechia come to mind.
Except we still have the two major ballads of the final (Italy and Estonia) one after another…. If they managed to split up Australia/Germany, I can’t see why they couldn’t do it for the double up of ballads, except to create a lull before Finland.
Its not that simple. They also have to keep in mind staging and props when chosing the running order. This could be the main reason finland is last in the first half, finland s props on stage need more time to break off and roll out. Im actually surprised by how most peopel in the comments dont consider this. As someone who's worked behind the scenes in the entertainment industry, there's a whole protocol and management behind it. Different acts have different requirements, time and preperations.
Regardless of each country's position, most viewers already have decided who their favorites are, and will vote for them, so I don't think it matters too much... I'm only worried about some artists not getting noticed by the viewers at home that don't follow social media; they might forget some of the songs as the show progresses...anyway, Saturday will be a blast, and I am looking forward to watching the final!
A lot of viewers haven’t heard any songs except their own country’s and maybe some few others. I think most people make their minds up on the night. However, people who watch this video probably already have a favourite who they will back regardless of running order.
I didn't realize that their order is determined for them and not done by draw. It seems that they can try to sway votes based on the order they determine.
There is a draw to determine if a song will be in the first or second half. But they have to determine the exact position for them because the staging became more complex to set up in recent years so they need to be able to insert breaks on the show to put some of them, also it produces a better show to have even amounts of different style songs spread out.
Do not rule out Israel as a dark horse for this one. Will do really well with Juries due to sheer quality of show and really well placed for the televote towards the end and after Lithuania’s more subdued staging to provide a good contrast.
I'd love them to be drawn into quarters instead of halves and then fitted into the quarters based on song type and staging logistics, would feel fairer
I kinda agree with many others that running order should be random but then again I kinda don't. It's a tv show and you have x amount of minutes to change the staging and props. It would be staffs nightmare if two performances that use many props go back to back. P.s. Finland tends to get the worse running order so I'm happy that we finally got a nice place.
EBU seems to have something against Czechia. Every time they've got into the finals their running order is really bad... 2016 - 2nd 2018 - 14th (First in the second half) 2019 - 3rd 2022 - 1st 2023 - 14th (First in the second half)
They gave Finland the best SF1 spot because they fucked them over by placing Croatia 25th. This looks like a deliberate move to siphon off the televote.
As I'm old skool (OK, just old), I grew up with the show being totally at the luck of the draw. Now with more complicated staging I can see why that can't always work. Maybe group them together according to which need the extra set-up time and how they want to pace out ballads versus uptempo, then randomise them within those groups. Anything else feels like a result is being pushed on us. And I agree, Croatia at 25th does seem there to improve the UK's chances!
They have punished Austria, Czechia, and spoiled UKs chances of getting a top10. Its clear they favour Sweden and Finland but they always favour Sweden in my opinion. Sad for Portugal too. Where the producers on loopy juice when they complied this list???
I wonder what the results are. but no-one of the second semi has a good spot so I guess the bookies have more to say about the order than they want to admit
Sweden having always a good position. Why? Because Sweden is Sweden. Portugal last year with Maro in 3rd postition and this year in 2nd position. Why? Because Portugal is Portugal. Enough of favorites!!!
Seems that Czechia are always thrown under the bus in the final. 2nd in 2016 (first half of the show) , 1st in 2018 (second half of the show), 3rd in 2019 (first half of the show), 1st in 2022 (first half of the show), 1st in 2023 (second half of the show). Apparently in Eurovision all countries are equal but some are more equal than others. I'm not Czech BTW.
In the end someone has to sing first and someone last, you can mention that who sings first never wins but maybe its because the better songs are never put first anyway? In the end if the song is great it doesn't matter where it is people will vote for it. I don't get why Estonia is right after Italy unless they really want to chill out the crowd to then have Finland's exploding effect. ❤ good luck to everyone ❤
I think the only country who have to worry ist Austria. All the favorites are between 6th and 13 th. Second half seem not as strong. No real containder for the win

I'm amazed there is no huge scandal at this point. All delegations that end up screwed up year after year after so much effort and investment, why are they not rioting???
Saying that Prlja (Croatia) doesn’t have good vocals is a joke. The man was pitch perfect in a very difficult song. You can’t even compare it with Mae. That is disrespectful towards Prlja.
Dakle, spada u idealizatore onih za koje navija - no matter what - otud i generalizacija.
Ajde, prosvijetli me, mi objasni taj kontekst.
I like the song and I like how they sing.
It will stand out for sure between two pop songs.
Second half running order is non-issue for me ...
the second half part is more about balance I agree, the problem with an early running order is being forgotten or people haven't started watching yet
Estonia is gonna look amazing before Finland which jury will hate
Yes Grand Final running order should be totally random .. not a producer’s choice.
How unfair it is. Czechia 5th participation in the final and we got this spots in our half - 2 1 3 1 and 1. So unfair to us.
Thank the Nordics, especially Sweden. Be smart what you support in Eurovision. Czechia is great again this year. Don't lose hope. Cheers from Lisbon
Are the stars maybe aligning for Finland??? ❤
I hope so my winner this year!!
Very happy with this slot
Can’t believe Croatia 2nd last that’s a great slot does that mean they done better than we think?
So many questions 😮
Very happy for Finland's placing. Honestly, surprised, but it's a great surprise!
Surprise? 😂😂😂
Finland are taking this! wooooo
No.
Thanks for the video, it seems Finland got a great place
They clearly know it's between sweden and finland and wanted to give them spots later in the 1st half while still keeping 3 songs in between them, it was very obvious that they would put sweden before finland because of the break, still think sweden has this one in the pocket tho juries will be throwing all their points at loreen
They should do a random draw for spot 2 😂 Glad for Finland’s draw, i really want him to win 😉🇫🇮
Finland,Sweden and Croatia top 3
I agree - the running order should be random, and so, each country’s props should take no longer than 60 seconds (or whatever is suitable) to deploy. That should be fair to everyone.
Finland has a REALLY good running order. Slovenia as well
I don't think Finland got the placement in the end of the second half just because they want it to win (they might, but I'm not sure about that) but also because the Finnish performance has quite large props, and they have to think about the schedule.
There's my analysing :
Austria is a great opener and I believe in a There'stop 13-10
I feel sorry for Portugal but I'm sure jurys will class them high ;)
Rip France
Spain Sweden ans Finland in the top
Belgium will stand out the middle with his message and performance !!
Israel 23th is good for their dance but in my opinion it's not a winner song -> top 10-5
Croatia 25th will be interesting for them ! It's a memorable performance so I feel like it's gonna be really high in the televote ! And I'm sure it will be top 10 in juries or even higher who know ? Because don't forget the blakans unity ;)
I am not sure if it was deliberate or not, but you notice, the show is more or less divided into 3 sections - 10, 10, 6. and the is a symmetry between them -
1) Entries 1-10 - 2 Automatic Qualifiers; 4 Semi 1; 4 Semi 2
2) Entries 11-20 - 2 Automatic Qualifiers; 4 Semi 1; 4 Semi 2
3) Entries 21-26 - 2 Automatic Qualifiers; 2 Semi 1; 2 Semi 2
I wonder if this is just by coincidence.
When Czechia drew first half we went 1st, 2nd and 3rd. When we drew 2nd half we went 14th (=1st). This is so unfair.
#1 is a relatively good position, but yeah, #2, #3 and #14 are really bad :(
at least this time it is in the second half
I agree, it's really weird how Czechia gets penalized everytime they are in the final. I will give you my vote on Saturday from the Netherlands ❤🙌🏾. On the bright side, Czechia is no longer a country that qualifies/participates once in a blue moon so I'm hoping for another great entry next year so you can be put in a better spot. There is no excuse at this point for giving Czechia a bad spot everytime
@@FeeESC thank you!
Estonia and Portugal should switch positions, Austria probably didn’t do so well in the semi to be drawn first
We thought the same with Czechia last year but they actually did really well in the semi
i don't agree, estonia is very good and has gotten a great spot. portugal in spot 2 only means they were barely qualified so it deserved that spot
@@jimskeuh Last year Portugal was 4th on their semi… in the final they got 3rd position on the running order! So shut up…
With that said, Estonia has a horrible position…between the best ballad of the year and a possible jurie winner and the best up beat song, possible televote winner…
@@jimskeuh or it's because the producers hate Portugal
Spain before Sweden is bad for Sweden, not Spain.
Loreen between two dramatic women in red: she's the one who must be worried, not Blanca or Albina. I think her song gets a bit bland between so much passion coming from Spain & Albania.
Spain is before a break tho, so at least that's something
Very surprising this early running order for France. Usually bookmakers favourites are usually around 10-13th place. Italy very good running order! Can't wait for Saturday night
I don’t know if it’s that good to have a ballad right after Italy…
I mean I can understand that they’re early. They wanted to keep the 3 greatest favorites from the first half apart from another so with Finland going 13 and Sweden going 9, France had to go early to leave space between them and Sweden.
They start RED RED and RED. Portugal was 3rd last year and 2nd this one 🤦🏻♂️
Go Croatia, Slovenia & Czechia!!
Hands up! 🎉 Who wants to go to the stage after Käärijä?
Please, make the queue here! 😬
Okey, let's have a break insted. 🥳
Matt I agree with You 100 % on this running order.
Czechia have literally never been given a fair running order in the final
2016 #2
2018 #14
2019 #3
2022 #1
2023 #14
Actually it was #1 in 2022 so even worse technically
@@ESCunited my bad you're right its 2am i should go to sleep haha
And this year, It Is One of the best songs...
@@ESCunited yes what is up with that. It feels unfair so I'll give them like 5 of my votes
When do we gonna see Sweden or Norway perform in second in one final? Why are those two allways helped?? This is outrageous.
The only fair thing is to randomize it. This is disgusting.
But then you might end up with 5 ballands in a row, lmao. That's why there must be people who make running order WORK
@@roesslyng they put the ballads next to each other anyway (Albania, Italy, Estonia)
@@kika12peggy17 Same thing last year - Australia, UK, Poland
@@larysacherner312 lol uk was not a ballad
In defence of non random running order....we do need variety and contrast and light and shade. Imagine five consecutive ballads... that said, as u say Matt some countries seem hard done by year after year....France and Czechia come to mind.
Except we still have the two major ballads of the final (Italy and Estonia) one after another…. If they managed to split up Australia/Germany, I can’t see why they couldn’t do it for the double up of ballads, except to create a lull before Finland.
Yeah, unlike having 5 red performances in semi 2 straight 😂
I love how Croatia slaying this year despite all the fandom hate 😂
@@DiaSantos447 thanks for this friday morning life coaching moment, I really appreciate it.
@@lizavetan.7705 oh, aren't you so sweet!
Nah!.just corruption
Tell me the producers hate Portugal, without telling me the producers hate Portugal.... I mean even Poland has a better spot... what a joke!
Favouritism at it’s highest! They did Portugal so dirty again!
Most viewers don't watch the semi finals.
@@billybryant99 true
@@owwz9080 That does make sense.
Why the producer gets to decide and not randomly?? Up to this point I thought it was random
I think Norway or France should win this year and Cyprus should be up there they are the best sounding songs
EBU seems to have something against Czechia. Every time they've got into the finals their running order is really bad...
2016 - 2nd
2018 - 14th (First in the second half)
2019 - 3rd
2022 - 1st
2023 - 14th (First in the second half)
They gave Finland the best SF1 spot because they fucked them over by placing Croatia 25th. This looks like a deliberate move to siphon off the televote.
That's quite possible. I hate this shit.
Im so sad for France, they got maybe the worst slot for being one of the "big fan favourites"..
If a song depends on order to stand out, then it's not a great song, and wherever it stays, it's good because it's not due to its attributes!
Just open with Sweden 🇸🇪 she had her chance, someone else deserves that 9th spot. And bring Poland 🇵🇱 second. That would be very fair 😁
Italy and Estonia, two ballads back to back? Not a fan of that.
😂😂ŠČ!!🇭🇷🇭🇷🇭🇷
They have punished Austria, Czechia, and spoiled UKs chances of getting a top10. Its clear they favour Sweden and Finland but they always favour Sweden in my opinion. Sad for Portugal too. Where the producers on loopy juice when they complied this list???
I wonder what the results are. but no-one of the second semi has a good spot so I guess the bookies have more to say about the order than they want to admit
Finland 🇫🇮
Armenia 🇦🇲
France 🇫🇷
Sweden having always a good position. Why? Because Sweden is Sweden.
Portugal last year with Maro in 3rd postition and this year in 2nd position. Why? Because Portugal is Portugal.
Enough of favorites!!!
But a top 10th place last year. Portugal could make miracles
@@cabemaru1 Sure, but for Portugal get good results, it has always to make miracles while others have their life easier...

Why did they put Estonia after Italy? Two ballads back to back. That’s terrible. 😮
I'm sorry, but the UK closing is such a let down, lol.

Most of the good songs went to the finalists in the first semi. It’s almost as if they just slotted the second semi finalists in last minute.
probably 'cause barely all good songs were from sf1
@@tomasnashotakipiska1581 There were no good songs in semi final one.
Bullshit....Australia will grab this one.
I'm surprised that Albania got 10th. I presume they got through safely but I thought they sneaker through.
The same. This position suggests they went safely through the final
How about this for an idea - no props allowed. Then they can't use set-up time between acts an excuse to favor countries like Sweden.
Do you think spain and sweden will cancel each other out due to the running order ?
Don’t think so, two very different songs with different appeal

Personally, I'm most shocked about Austria opening. Wish they would have drawn second half.
Uhhhhh big surprise. All the last 6 years the favorites (and later the winners) performed between Place 8-13 or between 20-26. Never in between. Yeah great job: Sweden in 9, Finland in 13, Israel in 23. 😂🙄
Sucks.
Australia can still get top 5 from 15th.
Why are you disliking Finland's position? And what do you mean when you say some of them get rewarded again? Who are those?
I dislike the perceived favoritism, whether it is Finland or any country with frequent favorable Running Orders. Finland was given the best possible position both in the Semi and Final cause it’s a fan favorite. Several countries have received favorable positions over the years e.g. Sweden, Italy while others were given the short end of the stick (Czechia, Portugal etc)
@@ESCunited Well at least it's the first time ever for Finland. Some countries are always favored even if their songs aren't very good or considered as favorites...
Not loving Czechia's spot. Haven't they gotten really early spots for the past few years in the final?
Not for the past few years. For every year we were in the final - spots 21311 in our half...
Very disappointed with the spot for my favourite France. They deserved better given the odds. I thought it was the only one that could challenge Finland and Sweden now it looks like that chance has gone 😢
I think the EBU don't want Loreen to win again.
It's a quite good place, so I don't know what you're on about?
