"Paul Somebody-or-other" might have been Paul D. Lanum, layout artist and production manager on Tarzan. There are a few other Pauls credited on IMDB, but Lanum's job description best fits the department Mignola would have been visiting
He may have been talking about Paul Brizzi - he was a co-founder of the company that eventually became Disney Animation France, and he worked on Tarzan, A Goofy Movie, etc.

I just graduated with a degree in animation. Don't be threatened by disney, they are like mike said, an amazing place to work. Any and all disney animators emails are theirfirstname.lastname@disney.com they'll give you real feedback on your reel. I talked with patrick osbourne a lot when i was at OIAF, he's an amazing person and would have good advice (he did the zombie dogs in i am legend, but more recently lots of work on bolt and tangled) :)
