Very interesting. There's a sense of longing or something that's just out of reach. And knowing that a good sound track is mando for any watchable film.
Better than Ray's last film, Love her Madly. How he could create something as cheap as that is hard to understand. I don't want to diss him, I love his keyboard playing, no one like him at that! I simply was shocked when I saw that film.
In the UCLA film she mentions someone being 27 and moving to Paris; The way dude approaches her on the beach is how Manzarek described re acquaintance with Morrison even down to how he was dressed; Mostly everything about these films Ray made is signaling his immediate future
@@subhashxrecord3131also, Ray & Dorothy’s apartment is the apartment in the film. That’s the same apartment Ray invited Jim to after they reacquainted on the beach. He even stayed there for a bit with them because he was living on the rooftop in Venus! Weird to see the actual apartment that Ray talks about in his book.
I think if raymond wasn't in the Doors, he'd be a really great director and would have made alot of films. Loving the music.
Ray driving/passing by and filming "Whisky a Go Go" without realizing how important that nightclub would be in his future legacy. Very superstitious.
I just seen that as well. In between are the Doors.
without Ray the Doors never would’ve become famous.
He was the most balanced guy of all the Doors
Notice what great relationship Ray had w Dorothy.
Long term love.
So different from Morrison’s relationships
Love the music in this. Melancholy jazz sax. Breakups are so sad.
Ray was a GENIUS❤
Awesome. I love reading about The Doors. The books they read. Film and art. Read Rays book and understand Morrison and the rest of them
Masterpiece! Thank you for sharing this!
The camera goes by the Whiskey twice and thats where the Doors got to be the house band and got picked up by Electra records.
Nice to finally see this! - can definitely see the Godard influence on Ray that was happening at the time.
11:00 the Whisky à Go-Go!!
I liked the short movie Evergreen from 1964. Great Job Ray. I would like to see Jim's. Thanks for posting man.
marvelous, without a doubt
Thanks!
Gorgeous!
Good job, Ray
Ray would've made a great filmmaker but instead we got the doors
He made the right choice !!! 👏
It's a fucking crime that Jim's didn't survive.
Really is :I
Thanks from France 👍

What a cool dude to saying meh I don’t wanna be a film maker anymore I wanna be a rock star!
Great movie, love it x
Génial
Wow, John Fogerty covered "Henrietta" on his lost album!
Que hermoso trabajo
Pity UCLA lost Jim's effort.
And I'm one of the few people who can tell you who his favorite lecturer was... Josef von Sternberg, no less.
Very arty
Think of what was to come and rather quickly.....
5:15 looks like pauley pavilion under construction!
6:15 - 6:44 where the hell is that?
Nova Express and The Thief's Journal
6:15 is that at UCLA?
Yes that's UCLA
Who is the guy getting it on with Dorothy is this ray ?! Don’t look much like him
9:28 - 11:29 Rick and the Ravens Henrietta
Very interesting nuances in Ray's 2 student films with references to The End, The Whiskey and even Jim's UCLA film with the Doors.
