"Do not over hype your products" that's a very good sentence. I've seen this episode without any foreknowledge and It was a pretty good fan made Episode. Even with the Story. As someone who animated on it, can help but laugh. Not at the review but at the project. I was the one who animated the scene at 7:04 and I do admit I went overboard. When I transition between animating traditionally and animating on flash, I relied on tweening a little too much cause I was still new to the program. Also when animating pinkie pie, I thought I should have made her very stretchy but looking abck on it it looked really off. At this point I try to avoid using tweens and only use them to help evenly space the object im animating and I then remove the tween afterward. Also Domo was added the same reason you saw a bunch of refrences, the background artist wanted to just input their own refrence. The Troll face however, almost everyone involved wasn't a fan of that either.
Late reply, but it's cool to see the input of someone who worked on the show! Honestly even though the story was meh, the visuals are actually really solid given the constraints you had to work with at the time. This was clearly done by a very talented bunch!
It's pretty much a character known a Domo-Kun. He's a bunch of toys, had a cartoon series, etc. He looks like a brownie with an open mouth and sharp teeth, arms, and legs.
I agree with Mr Enter on a lot of points about this animation, but as an aspiring animator myself, and a novice at that, I kinda commend the people behind this project for being able to find passable voice actors. I don't think a lot of people, or Mr Enter for that matter, realize how hard it really is to find decent voice actors, let alone those who are willing to help out with your projects. Most people who can do really good impersonations usually reserve themselves for only the very best animators out there, leaving lesser known folk struggling for help with their ideas. I think sometimes you should commend animations like these for voice acting if the creators at least tried to find a decent voice actor for their characters. Stuff like Dusk's Dawn felt kinda of lazy, no effort made to find people with clearer and understandable accents. But this is just me nitpicking really about voice acting.

Double Rainboom is a perfect example of how fans abuse their imagination and the copyright of the Hasbro it feels like it was a mess of fanfiction plus crossover in one blender. Also the moral is way too broad it feels like it was an excuse to extend more into the cross over and the memes. No offence when fans take a franchise and mess with it it should stay with the source material not fluff it with fan service and references.
God, this fanimation pissed me off into all oblivion. Everything about it was wrong. Then the Pinkie pie zipper to another dimension was ridiculously unfunny/clever and made me despise the creators ON TOP of all their pop culture references. While the animation is nice, they used techniques that were not present in the show making them look farther from the "show quality" they boasted. You know, here's an interesting little detail; Lauren Faust wrote for MLP, PPG, and Foster's Home. So this was essentially a fan tribute to Lauren, but that should have been a separate fanfic. Even then, you need to make sure the characters are in character.
I remember being like 10 and super hyped for this project and all the epic trailers coming out for it. I was disappointed with the final product even back then
I've only watched three episodes of FiM, one being Sonic Rainboom, and the only episode of the Powerpuff Girls I remember is sadly Town and Out, but following your 'guidelines', I think I could make this more show accurate, at least in a way that I don't know what the heck is going on with this show. Get the popcorn, this will take a while. 1. Make it so Rainbow, while attempting the Sonic Rainboom, crashed into Twilight's... lab? 2. The crash caused the potion to go flying when Rainbow catches it. 3. After Twilight explains what the potion does, Rainbow instead asks which of her skills would be increased. 4. Rainbow doesn't steal the potion; it's more of a test. 5. Instead of wondering how she flew up so high, Rainbow instead realises or at least thinks it was the potion. 6. Only Buttercup was beating up the monster, while the other two tried to stop her. 7. Blossom smiles while saying 'Let's give her a head start' to make it seem more like a friendly deed than... whatever that was. 8. Rainbow's wings did not break, but instead, her flying speed was slowed down to the point where she could walk faster. 9. Remove the forth-wall breaking, or at least make it subtle. 10. Don't make it look like Bubbles wants to beat that dog up. 11. The moral is something completely different, like 'Don't get ahead of yourself'.
***** *;_;* I'm sorry, I was just messing around. Please forgive me. *goes to cry in a corner only to realise he has no head.* Wait...how did I realize that with bits of my brain exploded? Is that tentecolino logic at it's glory? OMG! What is happening? *gets sucked into hell* I didn't deserve thaaaaaaaaaa-
I'm guessing the Domo moon thing is supposed to be a reference to Majora's Mask's moon...but if that's the case THEN WHY HAVE IT BE DOMOS FACE AND NOT THE FACE FROM MAJORA'S MASK? Did they think it was funny or something?
To somewhat defend Twilight's "not knowing what the potion does", it's possible that she means that she knows what it's supposed to do, but she doesn't actually know if it would have the desired effects, or if there would be unexpected side-effects.
Not to mention that does kinda feel like something in the MLP universe. If they properly established that videogames were a thing in Equestria, I could totally see Button as an ocasional background gag or something.
My biggest complaints were: -Overabundance of references -Long periods of silence -Not one but two Deus ex Machinas - Twilight making a second potion in 15 minutes after the first one took her years, and Pinkie doing the exact thing that's needed to rescue RD. -Ham-fisted moral: "I should have planned ahead." What plan exactly? I guess something like: 1.Don't drink the potion 2.???? 3.PROFIT!!! I did like how RD was off-put by the Powerpuff Girls' violent tendencies, that was a nice touch
Well... Glad that someone got the case. I saw the comment reaction on Equestria Daily and WOW they are SO FREAKING BIASED. They defend this really hard because it was fan-made and we should be grateful someone decided to make an episode as a project. Well... Here's my main problem: They hyped it up as an episode. If that's the case, then it should be judged as an episode. I HATED the fans of this just constantly defending it and telling people to be ashamed for having a negative point of view. Sorry, but that's not going to work. I watched the whole thing and, as an episode, painful. Heck, I saw someone edit out the stalling parts and skipped the unnecessary parts. It was a lot better, but still didn't save it as a whole as an episode. As a project alone, it's a standard start. Not bad. Animation could use work, but the effort was there and it was a noble attempt.
Nicole Nelson Well that just makes my point stronger, if Derpy's better than Snowdrop, and you don't want to mess with Snowdrop, then you definitely wouldn't want to mess with Derpy.
Buh, late edit: This post is hyperbole! Read the replies. You are absolutely wrong about the Powerpuff Girls. They beat up villains after their surrender. There was one where a clown went black and white due to an accident with bleach. He was cured, surrendered, became all happy again, and THEN they beat the shit out of him and locked him up. The powerpuff girls are criminally merciless.
TheMysteriousMrEnter Yeah, I see the flaw in my logic there. Unfair judgement based on one episode. Still, it's not entirely impossible for them to act that way, like Spike At Your Service makes Spike acting like a complete moron not entirely impossible. For the record, I agree with you about the rest of it, but the whole thing with them beating up a surrendered villain has happened at least once in their canon. I think it's happened a few times with Mojo Jojo too, other than when they fuck him up for no reason whatsoever.
The episode was originally going to have the Powerpuff girls let Mr. Mime go, but network executives forced them to change it to the "bad guy gets put in jail" ending. powerpuff.wikia.com/wiki/Mime_for_a_Change#Trivia
Now, I can't stand this... fanisode? Whatever you want to call it, I think it's very poorly done, and its main problem is exactly what you said, it was more over-hyped than COD. How could it have possibly lived up to the expectations that we had? But at the same time, this project makes me so sad. It's such a waste of potential. The animation was just sublime! It was about as close to the actual show's quality as you could get. Can you imagine what it must have felt like to be one of the very talented folks that worked on this thing and seeing the response to it after its release? To put all that effort into what turned out to be an over-hyped dud! I don't know what happened behind the scenes. What made them think this was all quality work? What made them think that random internet memes and pop culture references were funny? What made them think that turning it into a crossover out of nowhere, with no rhyme or reason whatsoever, and concealing the fact that it was a crossover from the public, was a good idea?! Did nobody on the team seriously think that people would be just a little peeved that you just dropped this on them out of nowhere? But what I found most appalling about the episode was that most of its content was *POINTLESS*. WHY were there random references everywhere? They serve no purpose and are often not part of an actual joke, they're just there. WHY did they go to the PowerPuff universe? There was no point to it, it just happened and then it just went away. Then there's all the friggin' filler. So many questions! And again, you can see that they put a lot of effort into it. The animation is superb, and... actually, the animation was really the best part. The rest of it actually seemed kind of weak, now that I think about it. Like the voice acting. You can work hard enough to create this great animation, but you can't be bothered to scrounge up some microphones for your VA's that don't sound like complete crap?
When I first saw this "episode", I wasn't able to finish. Once Rainbow went into the PPG universe, I just stopped watching because it was too stupid. To this day, I have never actually seen the whole thing.
Actually the powerpuff girls were in character. Firstly cause they didn't know the monster had surrender and second because they had beat many 'inocent' people before, the people of Towsnville in "Tough Love" and rainbow the Clown in "Mime for a Change" were proof of that.
Well, for "Tough Love" the reason they beat them up was because they were brainwashed by HIM to hurt them As for "Mime for a Change", Rainbow the Clown was going to have a happy ending, but the executives didn't want him to get away with what he did even though he was brainwashed
Also, I saw Harley Quinn in there. In the actual show that could be a meta joke to the fact that Twilight Sparkle is also voiced by Tara Strong, who voices Harley Quinn in Arkham City.
I think the "How'd I get up here" refers to how high she got with what little she did. We only see her take off, and she doesn't actively try to ascend at all after that. Wouldn't you be a little weirded out if you walked for a few seconds and were a good few miles from where you started
But that's only an "assumption". We don't know for sure if that's what they intended it to be. If that "is" what they intended, then they should have made that clear. There are two ways they could have done this: 1. Have Rainbow Dash's sentence cut off while she was talking to Twilight. 2. Have Rainbow Dash say something that makes it clear that she didn't put any effort into taking off. ...Did I just come up with an improvement that the writers failed at?
I'm seriously tired of hearing people criticize the PPG aspect of the episode when they haven't watched the show in years. That is _exactly_ how the PPG would act in that situation--they've been complete sociopaths on multiple occasions, and they get beaten down by the monster of the week every other episode.
And then there's the whole "Monster Island" thing where the only reason the monsters attack Townsville in the first place is because they WANT to pick a fight with the Powerpuffs! Once that meaning is gone, why do they need to die?!?
I don't think they would have beat up a monster that was on his knees and begging...probably. what i always liked about the power puff girls was that they could have gone either way. In short they Might have still beaten up the monster in the actual show.
Juuuust a minute, if you're going to tout about the fact that Bubbles and Blossom wouldn't attack a hesitating monster, the LEAST you could've done is back it up with evidence.(Which luckily EXISTS as there WAS an actual FULL EPISODE on an island of monsters that tried to explain WHY Townsville was always attacked in the first place)
Bullshit. The girls have beaten up Rainbow the clown after he was turned back to normal, they could beat up a hesitating monster. ...GOD do I hate that ending.
***** he was clearly driven insane by the bleach accident. And besides, he was totally neutralized and harmless, not being violent, no need to beat him up.
Even people who hate Double Rainboom have to agree on one thing: for a fan-made project the animation is pretty dang good! Certainly better than that of a HISHE video or South Park!
Maybe that's why I don't mind this fanfic as much as others, I didn't overhype myself, I literally didn't know it was a thing until it was out and people started talking about it.
BTW, I dunno about beating up a hesitating monster, they did beat up Rainbow the Clown after he changed back from Mr. Mime. Also, there were several episodes where the monster got the upper hand over the girls.
I don't count Snowdrop as the first fan-animated MLP episode because of its relatively short length. I believe that Dusk's Dawn was actually the first, despite its poor quality.
Personally, I could care less about all the minor flaws. I LOVED this fan episode. It was incredibly well made. Also, remember that because they released a trailer and stuff, they didn't have as much time to make it as perfect as Snowdrop. They were also planning on having it the first fanmade episode, Snowdrop just popped out of nowhere. That wasn't really their fault for that one.......
While the constant fandom nods are a pain, I think its biggest problem is its pacing. Not just because of all the constant padding, but because everything is stretched out ridiculously. The pauses between lines, the silent moments, the visual gags. It's really subtle, but it seems like every little moment is stretched out just a little bit too long. And for being based on a show that otherwise has pretty fast-paced comedic timing and pretty spot-on pacing and timing (For the most part), that is a terrible mistake to make.
Ehm, the PPG have been defeated before by monsters. There's that famous episode where the Professor becomes overprotective of them because a red pufferfish-like monster keeps defeating them no matter what.
It's astounding how hard they failed with keeping beloved characters in their actual characters. I mean, the writing for this is absolutely horrid and in no way should have been held up to the show's standards.
The problem with this is that the PPG aspect came out of nowhere, and ruined the feel of something that was promoted as a short that would try to follow the show as closely as possible. While we're at it, it also had some glaring mic problems. It tried, but it didn't try hard enough.
If you're ever in the mood for a GOOD "My Little Pony" fanmade show, I highly recomend the youtube video "Project Thundercloud". It's the backstory for Derpy Hooves and how her eyes became screwy. It's only 8 minutes long, but very well done.
i love double rainboom! sure the power puff girls characters are out of character, but it was fun to watch, was fanmade, had awesome animation (offbeat but still awesome), and was at least interesting. but still, it's YOUR review, so i can't hate it. ;)
If you want to see crossovers done right, I suggest you check out my 2 friends pieces of work. Skullzproductions and ThomasandMichael have both done Thomas and Friends/MLP crossovers, and both ponies and engines are in character the whole way.
+that Guy There are lots of reasons a person who doesn't know of a particular franchise can still watch reviews of it. I mean, the majority of the stuff Enter posts I've never seen, but I watch his videos anyway. My particular reasoning is because I'm an aspiring filmmaker and I figure if I watch reviews of things with the most unbiased opinion I can achieve, I'll learn some things about what to do and what not to do when writing screenplays, y'know?
I never really care about the story in this, to be honest, I see it as a love letter to both series in terms of how much FANSERVICE they were able to fit into it. Look at it like that. It's pretty good.
Even leave out the characterization problems with the ponies and the PPG which seem to be a huge debate at the moment, and pretty much every other point made in this video is a pretty solid argument. Even if you want to say that the characterization is fine, Double Rainboom has a horrible case of too much animation and not enough dialogue/plot. What's there of the plot isn't even that good... if you're going to do a PPG/MLP crossover, this is not the approach to take with it. The PPG segment is literally just crammed in there because why not, lolfanservice. All in all it was just a huge disappointment with way too much focus on style and way too little on substance.
Dare I say it? I'm gonna. I found *gasp* Flash Century, more interesting than this portrayal of Rainbow Dash. I'm not even a fan of Flash Century, in fact I'd even say he is near the bottom of my list of favorite characters in the show. And, while the actual show can write some very bland characters (i.e. Flash), this portrayal of Rainbow Dash is downright despicable. She was stripped down to the basic "Fly fast" trait, and then they gave her an idiocy level that has never been seen in such levels as the show. Lastly, I don't even want to say what I thought of the Powerpuff Fillies in this animation, as words cannot describe my distaste of their characterization in this.
Honestly I did not like double rainboom very much. The amount of references to me was very cringe worthy, I wasn't super crazy about how each character was portrayed, and the voices were pretty bad. With that being said, I was somewhat impressed with the animation. Somewhat. I give it a 5.5/10.
You know I like this one better than Dusk's Dawn, Smile HD, Cupcakes (both the original and HD), and PONY.MOV, but not as much as Snowdrop or even Lullaby for a Princess.
The biggest thing that bit Double Rainboom in the ass was saying it would be just like an actual episode of FiM, which...it obviously isn't. Honestly, I prefer Double Rainboom to Snowdrop. Yes, Rainboom has it's flaws, but Snowdrop exists solely to shove the saddest character they could make into the audience's face and say "Feel bad for this character! FEEL BAD, DAMMIT!" Snowdrop isn't /bad/, though (please don't hurt me, rabid fans!), and it -is- good, I'd just rather watch a nonsensical crossover than Sad Horse: The Show. :T
Wow, I'm surprised this episode got so much hate. I actually really liked it. Sure, the voices were a bit off, but for fan work this is really good quality. Perhaps I see it differently because I watched it blind (not having seen any trailers or other advertising), but I had fun with it
i agree the power puff girls weren't even that far out of character i mean they beat up mr mime when turned back to normal and big billy when he saved them maybe they were not so maliciouce though
It's been so long since I last watched this, and it just occurred to me... Double Rainboom might have made more sense as a project if they'd done it as an April Fool, even then it wouldn't be funny but at least it'd make sense why they lied about what they were making. (I would check the date on the original but it's no longer available.)
One thing that gets me is how great everyone says the animation is, even in the very negative reviews. It's really not. Even for a student project. Even at that time, there were plenty of animations out there that were more show quality than this.
I hated how out of character and...mean the PPG were acting. Like 7:19 was pretty funny...until Bubbles started threatening to beat the dog up. She wouldn't do that!
unless she was evill if you watch the show..............
I seem to remember Bubbles always threatening to beat up that one particular dog.

3:08 "A whole lot of nothing." FUCKIN HILARIOUS!
Wow, your channel has REALLY grown if only a year ago you had 50 subs and today you have 30,000! AWESOME!!
You could say his amount of subs *puts on shades indicative of a bad pun* double rainboomed.
***** *slaps you* SLAPPING IS A SIN!
and just so you won't slap me...
*shoot myself in the head with a revolver and it explodes*
***** *;_;*
I'm sorry, I was just messing around. Please forgive me.
*goes to cry in a corner only to realise he has no head.* Wait...how did I realize that with bits of my brain exploded? Is that tentecolino logic at it's glory?
OMG! What is happening?
*gets sucked into hell*
I didn't deserve thaaaaaaaaaa-
Now he has 50,000 subs
Weiss Schnee he has over 200k now
I'm guessing the Domo moon thing is supposed to be a reference to Majora's Mask's moon...but if that's the case THEN WHY HAVE IT BE DOMOS FACE AND NOT THE FACE FROM MAJORA'S MASK?
Did they think it was funny or something?
Or maybe Celestia just banished Domo to the moon....
domo used to be the popular character
To somewhat defend Twilight's "not knowing what the potion does", it's possible that she means that she knows what it's supposed to do, but she doesn't actually know if it would have the desired effects, or if there would be unexpected side-effects.
Okay, crossover rule 101 guys. When you make a crossover, YOU HAVE TO MAKE IT ABLE TO HAPPEN IN BOTH UNIVERSES!
One example of animation that really looks like from actual show is Button Mash adventures. That thing is awesome.
Not to mention that does kinda feel like something in the MLP universe. If they properly established that videogames were a thing in Equestria, I could totally see Button as an ocasional background gag or something.
Michael Welsh They did establish it, Button was created as a background character in the perfect stallion song.
C:
***** But they did... Button's Mom is fucking sexy as fuck.
Also, don't you browse Paheal?
aMondayMorning Thanks fer standin' still, clopper!
My biggest complaints were:
-Overabundance of references
-Long periods of silence
-Not one but two Deus ex Machinas - Twilight making a second potion in 15 minutes after the first one took her years, and Pinkie doing the exact thing that's needed to rescue RD.
Well... Here's my main problem:
They hyped it up as an episode.
Should have deducted another point for Derpy abuse. >:(
***** Derpy is one of those characters you just don't mess with, it's like abusing Snowdrop.
Unfunny Dilbert 1876 I don't think you should put Snowdrop on the same level as Derpy. Derpy's...okay, but waaaay better than Snowdrop. xD
Nicole Nelson Well that just makes my point stronger, if Derpy's better than Snowdrop, and you don't want to mess with Snowdrop, then you definitely wouldn't want to mess with Derpy.
He did...
Judging the Powerpuff Girls by that episode would be like judging the mane six by Mare Do Well, or Spike by Spike at Your Service
I'm not at all kidding. That episode pissed me off with what is basically a war crime.
YOUR ARGUMENT IS INVALID
I HAVE A PINKIE PIE LAUNCHER
Yeah I noticed that too, she just wasn't as blatantly as out of character as everyone else.
She wasn't moving her wings but yet she was rocketing towards the sky. I would be surprised too
"It wasn't. Snowdrop was."
Actually, the Animatics for Double Rainboom were made back in march 2012.
When I first saw this "episode", I wasn't able to finish. Once Rainbow went into the PPG universe, I just stopped watching because it was too stupid. To this day, I have never actually seen the whole thing.
They even fucked up the PPG segment. There's out of character, and then there's this.
Oh don't bother. You'll face palm so hard because of the ending.
***** Thanks for the suggestion, but I'm afraid I'll have to decline.
***** No.
***** OH.....MY....GOD......You may have solve the mystery of why this exist.
Actually the powerpuff girls were in character. Firstly cause they didn't know the monster had surrender and second because they had beat many 'inocent' people before, the people of Towsnville in "Tough Love" and rainbow the Clown in "Mime for a Change" were proof of that.
Well, for "Tough Love" the reason they beat them up was because they were brainwashed by HIM to hurt them
As for "Mime for a Change", Rainbow the Clown was going to have a happy ending, but the executives didn't want him to get away with what he did even though he was brainwashed
Wow...I remember seeing this when I was younger, and actually loving it. Really I thought it was great. Just how stupid WAS I as a kid?!
There are two ways they could have done this:
1. Have Rainbow Dash's sentence cut off while she was talking to Twilight.
2. Have Rainbow Dash say something that makes it clear that she didn't put any effort into taking off.
...Did I just come up with an improvement that the writers failed at?
How far we've come.
2:13 Ok, am I the only one that thinks that sounds like the music from Wizard101?
I think it is...
+Bryant Langmuir I don't hear it...
*****
he was clearly driven insane by the bleach accident. And besides, he was totally neutralized and harmless, not being violent, no need to beat him up.
Even people who hate Double Rainboom have to agree on one thing: for a fan-made project the animation is pretty dang good! Certainly better than that of a HISHE video or South Park!
Oh man this brings back memories, you've come so far since this
Maybe that's why I don't mind this fanfic as much as others, I didn't overhype myself, I literally didn't know it was a thing until it was out and people started talking about it.
BTW, I dunno about beating up a hesitating monster, they did beat up Rainbow the Clown after he changed back from Mr. Mime. Also, there were several episodes where the monster got the upper hand over the girls.
OMG can't believe you're at 200k today congrats You're my favorite critic
Every time I see one of MrE's Fanmade video reviews, I wonder if he'll review the .MOV series.
Congrats, Twilight, you've invented steroids.
Everyone that started to watch MLP because of our favourite MrEnter raises a hand!
They made The PowerPuff Girls antagonists. WHAT THE SOD?!
7:54 Seriously?! How the hell did they manage that?! I have never before heard of Hasbro giving permission for anything.
how did THIS get hasbros permission but not fighting is magic?!??!?!?!?!
7:43 Is that Bloo? Don't bring Bloo into this mess!
I don't count Snowdrop as the first fan-animated MLP episode because of its relatively short length.
I believe that Dusk's Dawn was actually the first, despite its poor quality.
XDDD 50 subs! Last time I checked, you now have approx. 86,077 subs XD look at how far you've gotten! :3
Paw he has over 100 thousand 0_0
Aisha Robekk now 200 thousand
The vial falls to the floor with a cork in it because you have succesfully captured a smoke type trollface
Ah. A poor ponies' Pokeball then. XD
Silena The Hedgehog yes sir/ma'am
The smoke monster from lost must have gotten bored that day and took a trip to ponyville.
shadowslayer205 Nah, even the smoke monster wouldn't wan't to be in this.
(I haven't watched Lost in a while so please don't kill me.)
shadowslayer205 Nah, even the smoke monster wouldn't wan't to be in this.
(I haven't watched Lost in a while so please don't kill me.)
"It was incredibly well made."
Did...Did we watch the same episode?
Ahhh........ How far we have come.
50 sub special? well done. *claps* better than i could do in a year.
Ehm, the PPG have been defeated before by monsters. There's that famous episode where the Professor becomes overprotective of them because a red pufferfish-like monster keeps defeating them no matter what.
7:27: Pound Puppies reference. Another problem with this fanmade piece is the amount of references in it. They could have used Disney references.
+DeAnn Stephan So apparently pop culture references automatically make something bad?
6:22 Pizza Planet Truck! Deduct a point! This isn't Pixar!
It's astounding how hard they failed with keeping beloved characters in their actual characters. I mean, the writing for this is absolutely horrid and in no way should have been held up to the show's standards.
In other words: This is a fan-made MLP Ratings Trap. Thanks a lot SpongeBob.
***** It was made just to hype the hell out of it.
sans
THANKS OBAMA
6:10
Umm, I'd like to argue that point. Remember that episode with the clown that sucked all the color out of people? Remember the ending? Yeah...
3:20 "Whoa. What are these weird thingies on my back?" XD
The problem with this is that the PPG aspect came out of nowhere, and ruined the feel of something that was promoted as a short that would try to follow the show as closely as possible. While we're at it, it also had some glaring mic problems.
It tried, but it didn't try hard enough.
Dang this was your 50 sub special?!?! Woah it's been a long journey
If you're ever in the mood for a GOOD "My Little Pony" fanmade show, I highly recomend the youtube video "Project Thundercloud". It's the backstory for Derpy Hooves and how her eyes became screwy. It's only 8 minutes long, but very well done.
I hope it's actually well made (more specifically, well written), and not popular just because Derpy's in it.
i love double rainboom! sure the power puff girls characters are out of character, but it was fun to watch, was fanmade, had awesome animation (offbeat but still awesome), and was at least interesting. but still, it's YOUR review, so i can't hate it. ;)
If you want to see crossovers done right, I suggest you check out my 2 friends pieces of work. Skullzproductions and ThomasandMichael have both done Thomas and Friends/MLP crossovers, and both ponies and engines are in character the whole way.
Anyone else notice the Harley Quinn mask from Batman at 3:45 in the background?
My project is under a philosophy of total transparency. As in, all someone as to do is ask me, and I'll show what I've got.
Captions called Twilight 'toilet' and honestly I like it better that way. Toilet Sparkle.
I forgot you were a brony, Enter. I'm not a brony myself, not anymore, but this is enjoyable regardless.
I've never been a brony,but I still watch them.
+Flying Sky .....why?
Idk...guess i like his voice
+that Guy There are lots of reasons a person who doesn't know of a particular franchise can still watch reviews of it. I mean, the majority of the stuff Enter posts I've never seen, but I watch his videos anyway. My particular reasoning is because I'm an aspiring filmmaker and I figure if I watch reviews of things with the most unbiased opinion I can achieve, I'll learn some things about what to do and what not to do when writing screenplays, y'know?
INTERNALLY SCREAMING same
Hey Mr.Enter... can you do a review on The Joker Meets My Little Pony??
"50 Subs" 282k now. Insane
I never really care about the story in this, to be honest, I see it as a love letter to both series in terms of how much FANSERVICE they were able to fit into it.
Look at it like that. It's pretty good.
Yeah. But it wasn't promote as just a love-letter or a fanvid. It was promoted as the first fully fanmade 'episode'
Well, I never saw it as such. Mainly because I've never watched any of the trailers.
***** Yeah, the trailers overhyped it bad.
When I watched Double Rainboom, I actually thought "I bet Mr Enter disapproved of the trollface!" XD
Mr. Enters, you should review WarpOut's animation of ponyphonic's 'Lullaby for a Princess'
"Double Rainboom was a very hyped project, slighting to be the first fan made episode. It wasn't, Snowdrop was"
Wait but Dusk's Dawn is the first...
+Doug Fountain I don't think you find Dash bland or not interesting in this, more a bad character.
Last time I checked you had 115,765 subscribers lets keep this train going!! CHO CHO
FEEL BAD, DAMMIT!"
Snowdrop isn't /bad/, though (please don't hurt me, rabid fans!), and it -is- good, I'd just rather watch a nonsensical crossover than Sad Horse: The Show.
50 subs...you have come a long way
There could've been a funny Bit where Rainbow finally beats Applejack strength wise
Sure, I'll review it when I get to 100
50-100,000 Subs
Youve come a long way :D
Damn, 171,762 Subs In Under 3 Years.
50th sub special... and now you have over 200,000. Humble beginnings.
Internet Reviewer: The only job where you get to say "Why is the moon Domo?" and NOT have everybody think your crazy.
I NEED THOSE PW:AA SOUND EFFECTS FROM VIDEO!
It's been so long since I last watched this, and it just occurred to me... Double Rainboom might have made more sense as a project if they'd done it as an April Fool, even then it wouldn't be funny but at least it'd make sense why they lied about what they were making. (I would check the date on the original but it's no longer available.)
3:02 I just finished watching Cupcakes, so that was kind of disturbing.
Man it's so weird to see all of these older videos where he could reply to more people. I sure miss these days xD
One thing that gets me is how great everyone says the animation is, even in the very negative reviews. It's really not. Even for a student project. Even at that time, there were plenty of animations out there that were more show quality than this.
I see you in a lot of comment sections I go to.
