when i was a young boy i loved to watch the old brit sitcoms of the 70s like are you being served ,on the bus ,George and Mildew ( Mildred ) last of the summer wines ,it aint half hot ,the good life ,some mothers do have em ,and many more the Brits are such fine actors and there humour is something else ,dramas and comedies ...no one tops them for great entertainment they were our fav here in New Zealand ,back then it was a must watch situation to see these fine actors making us laugh
I missed him when he left. "Are you being served " I'm disappointed they never showed an episode saying what happened to Mr. Lucas in the U.S. The men's department wasn't the same
It was a good description of his long career which he was pilot of Are you being served? and completeld his hugely successful career in the Last ever episode of last of the summer wine opposite one of the show leads Frank Thornton
To me, he was the best and funniest carather on Are You Being Served. Many say it was John Inman or Molly Sugden, and they were absolutely fantastic, just like all the other actors and actress who played in Are You Being Served. But Trevor Banister was, for me, simply the best.
Blimey One of the best this is your life episodes ever great to see Peter who played super intendant Brownlow in the bill Trevor and Frank will always be forever mr Lucas' and captain Peacock 👍👍👍👍✌️✌️✌️✌️ cheers Stephen ✌️✌️👋👋👋👋
I don't know why TH-cam keeps recommending this to me as to the best of my recollection I have never heard of Trevor Bannister. I remember Roger Bannister so I just came here to see who this one was. Ok I watched a bit and I do remember him as a minor character in "are you being served" .
@malcolmdale9607 Scarcely minor! The whole of AYBS was originally centred around the Mr Lucas character, the show being based on Jeremy Lloyd's time at Simpson's of Piccadilly. While the Lucas character lost traction a bit as Mrs Slocombe and Mr Humphies gained fans, the original cast remained a strong ensemble.
Thoroughly enjoyed this. Seems a really nice guy and Mr Lucas was my first crush!!! Thanks for posting. R.I.P. Trevor
Mine too, back in the early 70s 😱
Hard to believe the cast of AYBS are all gone now except for Mike Berry who played Mr. Spooner. The cast really seemed to love each other.❤
Seeing all the familiar faces the people who made life that much better, brings back memories.
indeed mate
R I P Trevor.Wendy.John and Peggy and all of Trevors friends who have passed away
Clearly a lovely person. Seeing the cast of AYBS reunited made me cry.
Classic Archive,
Thanks for this tribute to Trevor forever of Are You Being Served fame!
This is great. I only know Trevor Banister from AYBS and his guest appearance on Keeping Up Appearances.
Thank you so much for uploading this! I'm a big fan of Trevor Bannister and all of the other Are you being served cast members. 😊
This was really nice. Trevor was very funny as Mr Lucas in AYBS ! xx
They were such gems of personalities. Such a shame they are all gone now.

Classic British comedy at its very best 😅
I have the boxset of Are You Being Served so I can keep watching them❤❤❤
I do too! 🤣. ❤️❤️❤️
Me too 😂
It's that television show where they show some famous person, starts off wearing short trousers, then ends up shaking hands with Danny La Rue.
He was hilarious on are you being served lovely guy and wow I never knew he was in reach for the sky it was the eyes Fantastic
So glad that This Is Your Life is still on British TV & no one better to pay tribute to than Trevor Bannister.
This is your life hasn't been on TV for decades, though have read it's meant to be coming back
Wow so nice Peggy Mount came to see him at age 82! she had already retired by this point, she was a very funny lady.
He was very popular more than what I realised. He certainly was loved.
I'm in this! It was a brilliant night..all the cast were bussed to London straight after the panto for the recording and party.
What year was this?
Nevermind. I should have waited for the credits. 🙂 I assume 1997? That's really cool you were at the taping!
@@TheAdventureSpot yes 97! I just manage to be seen over Michael A's shoulder on the panto clips. Trevor was shaking like a leaf, bless him!
Why don’t we have actors like these anymore.
Because they're all dead & the ones around now hardly measure up.
Fabulous episode. Joyful.
Brilliant episode. Thank you for sharing.

Lovely video .
Great to see so many fine artists appear.
Met Wayne Sleep, really lovely guy

Wonderful
I was a bridesmaid at Molly Sugdens wedding!!!!!
A fine actor

This was done in late 1990s or early 2000s before John Inman death in 2007.
Trevor still a card god bless him
His initial reaction was interesting
Brilliant
best pantomime is scunthorpe dame annie fanny... national treasure, best show ever
"Completing the Grace Brothers reunion..." presumably Nicholas Smith didn't want to be there.
Does anyone know what year this show took place?
I swear Christopher Biggins has been on every episode of this show, lol.
I gather this was before he was on Last of the Summer Wine
yes it was this episode was from December 1997, 6 years before he joined Last of the Summer Wine
Have you got any more episodes of This is your life please?
Unfortunate that The Edit Works used the same logo as Enron . . .
Can you make a video of the 2010/11 premier league relegation battle
@@L.Mclaughlan on my archive page
@ ok thanks
Don't they become suspicious that there is a tv camera crew there before Michael comes out?
They tell them something pedestrian like they’re getting some shots of the panto for local news.
I don't recall Mr. Grainger ever wearing a toupee.
It's the episode where they pretend to be shareholders to prevent a takeover.
@@seabisquick Oh thank you. He has to impersonate a South-West accent at one stage, I recall.
So which silly sod cut out the bit of Are You Being Served?, his probably best known show!!!
TH-cam copyright I had to trim it out because if it was kept in the whole video would've been blocked
Ralph Edwards is spinning in his grave.
