- Created by my good friend Slade, the Dingus Challenge may sound like the easiest Mario Maker challenge yet...however what lies beneath is a ruthless and frustrating experience like no other.
The rules:
1. Start up a brand new endless normal challenge
2. Beat 10 levels without taking damage
3. No skips, even if you come to a section with forced damage
4. If you take damage, start ALL the way back at level 1

Agree, 99% of the clips are dangerous and deaths and almost all completed stages are edited out.
@@Protocol-X Which takes out all the fun and excitement of "when will the run end?" because we know - it's now. The run is ending in this clip :/ I wish we saw the complete runs or at least some other levels because like OP said it's more of a compilation than showing a challenge. The last 5 min were nice though
@@anmolbains616 To be fair, this IS supposed to be a compilation of some sorts. If you wanted to see the whole challenge with suspense about when it'll end, you could just watch the Twitch VOD (although I'm aware that those don't last forever)
@@Mateo-vz4fl yeah I get what you're saying, but usually for his other challenges he shows full runs which is why I was off-putted by the majority of this video being a death compilation, but to each their own :)
@@anmolbains616 it's true that it's quite unusual since death compilations are usually a small part of the videos (with the SMB2 music), and it's not my favorite either, i was just saying that the Twitch VOD exists 😅🤷♂️

I feel like running out of time, dying in a pit, and dying to lava shouldn’t count as taking damage.
Yeah, why would jumping in lava equate to taking damage. It's not like lava actually damages you in real life when you jump in it.
@@JordanICM Not for that reason, rather that in the programming it seems to be different, killing you instantly, unlike an enemy or a spike.
The programming isn't of concern to the challenge. Death of any kind counts as damage. If anything were going to be allowed it would be forced damage or forced deaths but even those were agreed not to be allowed.

Fun fact: at McDonald's near my work the shake machine had a drip so they kept a cup under it. The trouble is that when they would make my milkshake they would use that cup. I told them not to, but they still did it and I had to ask for a remake every time. I had short lunches and it was the only place close so I didn't go anywhere else. And that's the story of how I became the 'problem' customer.
Tat's a long way of me saying when Dave said, "you burnt my milkshake" I felt it.
How to give a man a heart attack:
1. Star power in a long level
2. In a try not to die challenge
Conclusion: 10 levels is unfair difficulty. Should make it more like 5 levels next time, if there is a next time

Random Idea (#DGR please do this!!): THE CHOKE CITY DINGUS CHALLENGE
Specs:
-No Skips (you can only skip NO MORE than 3 times)
-Beat 10 Levels IN A ROW on either Expert or Normal
-NO DAMAGE
-NO COINS
-NO POWER UPS
-NO SKIPPING OVER #DGR LEVELS
-NO ENEMY KILLING (unless if you HAVE to)
-NO CROUCHING WHATSOEVER
and to top it all off; NO LAUGHING
If any of these rules are broken, you MUST start ALL the way back at level 1
This might be the closest i've ever seen to a man actually crying during a gameplay, Dave it isn't your skill that's lacking, you're setting impossible goals for yourself, that's the problem.

Honestly this challenge strikes me more as evidence that people are bad at tagging their levels as the appropriate difficulty than any lack of skill on your part.

Decided to watch this since I've been watching Slade attempt The Dingus Challenge. It's strangely comforting to know how difficult it was for YOU as well.

I think if you’re in a shoe, shell, or on a Yoshi, it shouldn’t count as taking damage. Because technically the Yoshi took damage and you didn’t get smaller you just lost your powerup. To me damage is going from big Mario to little Mario or death.
