I'm so pleased with this transformation that I can't decide on my favorite part of the studio! I love it all. But I'd love to know what is your favorite part of the makeover. Leave me a comment below.

Thanks Aida. I'm still amazed at how well it came out. Nothing like my space back in Florida and I'm having to rethink how I do things, but it's working out great so far.

The old adage, "where there's a will, there's a way" holds true! You did a great job with this space. A real achievement. Favorite part- it's hard to prioritize, but I do like your tip about the children's department storage piece. That looks very handy. And I like your personal display area. Overall, you've given yourself a nice gift in an organized and useful work area.

Angie…Bonnie Ward here…so very happy you are “back in business” with a great place to work again! Loved seeing all of your ideas & solutions. I had a wave of nostalgia during your tour…many memories of base housing during our family’s 20 years of military moves. Then after I retired from my own 20 years of civilian work, we moved up to Tarpon. I wanted to learn to quilt, but with only 500 square feet in the garage apartment we first lived in, the garage was my only option as well. I created some of my best quilts in that garage during the 9 years we lived there. . I’m sure that you will continue to create amazing art in your new studio space … and in any other space you may find yourself in during your daughter’s military career. It’s not the space but the artist using the space that counts. I love your “color story drawer”! What a great idea. Maybe when you are back in your “groove” you might think about doing a post about that drawer and how you use it in your creative practice. Just from the peek it looks like it’s full of “magic wands”. 😉

Ho Bonnie, how are you? Being back on a military base is different. I do love the sound of the helicopters flying over and seeing the soldiers as they go about their day. One thing I learned from all those years of moving around is to make the most of what you have. One of my best studios was a utility closed I shared with the water heater and AC unit. It was amazing what I could do in the room.
I will be back in FL next month and will make the guild meeting. Hope to see you. And thanks for the video idea. I will add it to my list.

I hope to see you at SDG next month Angie👍❣️ Yes…there is a “rhythm” to life on a military base like no other rhythm…on our Air Force bases it was the sound & sights of fighter jets overhead & flag raising & lowering ceremonies that brought everyone to a stop and to attention base wide as the national anthem was broadcast. I never thought I’d miss the sounds of fighter jets but after retirement we had an adjustment to the odd silence of our days for quite some time. LOL…I’m having a familiar laugh as I visualize you in that utility closet between the water heater & AC😂 Back then my supplies were just paints and canvas and later clay & pottery supplies…minimal stuff compared to what I’ve accumulated for quilting & fiber arts 🤪😉. I look forward to seeing your new fiber art journeys wherever you are😊🥰

Wow! what a transformation you made to that garage. New studio so bright and comfortable looking. Do you make thermofax screens for others?

Thanks Pat! Looking at the before picture, I had my doubts at times. Yes, I do make thermofax screens for others. Just contact me via the form on my website.
