Remember, Clark became a control freak not because he killed the Joker, but to make sure there isn't another Metropolis. Not to mention Wonder Woman has been manipulative on more than a few occasions. So whatever chances of redemption Clark gets, it ultimately gets foiled.

If Alfred is dead in the games of Injustice, then it seem unlikely that it was Zsasz who killed him like it was in the comics, since in Injustice 2, Batman goes to the prison that Superman had just taken over, to try and stop him. fight after Batman ouight Superman, Damien Wayne drags out and kills Zsasz. So it is hard to see in the games story when Zsasz could have been sent to kill Alfred. Since as they depict it the events were: Superman arrives at prison and then takes it over, then fairly short time after that batman arrives and fights Superman, and then right after that fight we have Damien killing Zsasz and leaving with Superman.

Shazam would have been able to break free from Supes' grip because he has the strength of Hercules and speed of Mercury. The fact that Shazam was in his Shazam form when this happened can be understood if you look at the game itself: Shazam transforms into a child and back into Shazam when he wins the first round in the game.

Injustice 2 retconned Year Five where Damian murdered Zsasz while he was still in Arkham. Alfred is still dead but it's not explained precisely how.
