You know, I really have to give credit to Usain Bolt as a sprinter. He made it look easy for a lot of us and made a lot of us underestimate how difficult it is to go so fast. Even when he seems off, he would always have some sort of miracle and 2015 showed that. Watching the 2022 men's 100m finals, it was close, stacked, pretty fast but somewhat underwhelming for like 99% of us as we thought a low 9.7 was going to happen and even some thought a >9.68 was going to happen. It was "only" a 9.86. Yes there was a headwind and it wasn't as warm, but that 2015 final was also around 70 degrees and even more of a headwind of -0.5. Plus Bolt still ran a 9.77 in 2013 with rain, headwind and even colder weather than the 2022 finals. I think we get too ahead of ourselves at times. Bolt would always produce his best when it matters. By the way talking about temperature, Bolt ran 9.63 with 63 degree weather which is insane how it was cold that night for sprinting and he still managed to come relatively close.

@@alexreid2365 Nah I always admired Bolt. After that 9.79 it was somewhat questionable if Kerley would go faster. Putting too much energy on the first round is never great. But the fact that even 2016 Usain Bolt could've beat this field is crazy considering the 9.7 times Kerley had.

Actually, the only time he didn't run sub-10 was when he just jogged to the line in the heats and his first ever 100m pro race. Crazy that you can go your whole career running 85+ races and lose maybe 4 or 5 times when you were actually trying, it's not supposed to be like that in the 100m, it's meant to be a unpredictable, anybody's race, fastest gun in the west kinda thing. It just wasn't when he was in his prime.

I agree. but amazingly Blake said in an interview that he would have won regardless. Bolt jogs 10.05 in the semi, and Blake runs 9.92 in the final, going all out. @@naimas8120 Yeah, Bolt's peak is by far the greatest peak in the sport. To put things into its proper perspective, Bolt stopped winning at the International level before he even turned 30 (2016 Olympics) and he still won more career International Gold Medals and total Medals than Carl Lewis lol. Carl Lewis competed until he was 36 years old, and Bolt retired just before his 31st Birthday. Bolt's International Medal tally is 23 Gold Medals and 29 total Medals in all, and Carl Lewis's International Medal tally is 22 Gold Medals and 28 total Medals in all.

Afasa Powell was robbed of the 2012 world record in the 4 by 1 due to injury. His replacement was Michael Frater 5:57. Frater (never broke 9.9) is no where in the league of powell even after powells prime but because Blake ran the race of his life and Bolt ran faster than in 2008 (37.10) they got the WR in 2012 (36.84 ran 0.26 sec faster) even with Fraters slow time.
I just made this comment cuz im seeing all these great Powell races and 1 shitty Frater race, cuz usually he doesnt even make the finals. Dont get me wrong Frater is a fast runner but not worthy of a world record. 2016 Powell was put in cuz even tho he was not in top shape still faster than Frater. But with a slower Blake and Bolt they missed the WR (37.21 ran 0.41 secs slower).

Sprinting isn't for tall athletes. You think many tall athletes haven't tried? Science proved that only short and middle height athletes can sprint. So you see Usain Bolt defied all scientific bases

@@augustinei6448 Being tall is a big advantage for sprinting. Stop this myth that tall people can’t sprint
What made Bolt better than the others is his HEIGHT (he has a short torso and long legs). He has the turnover of a short man and the long legs to run away from the other athletes and create huge gaps. Even Tyson Gay said it that Bolts strides are insanely hard to beat.

@@Samzo2002 don't disgrace yourself here okay. If you know nothing about track and field, don't comment on social media ok. Tall athletes don't perform well in sprinting because they can't turn their legs faster but Usain Bolt was able to do that coupled with longer strides. Thousands of taller athletes have tried sprinting but never successful. Do you know the height of American Ryan Bailey? He was just like Bolt. Go and find out his personal best and compare it to Tyson Gay who is a shorter athlete. Just keep quiet if you know nothing about a particular sports or you will disgrace yourself all the time.
