Emcee Moniker the gorillaz were ahead of their time in terms of interactive features to further intertwine their world and ours. I felt like I was kicking it with murdoc in his winebego .
Shout out to you for being one of the 170 plus comments on here who actually knows about these guys and took the time to listen to this. Haven't even started watching yet but it suprises me how there is still a variety of people who remember them and actually like their music. These Gorillaz made up part of my teen years in the early 2000's. " Left hand method suzuki ( with the heavy drum kicks and bass ) " and " Que pasa contigo ( with the American, spanish speaking influence and beat ) " are two of my favorites songs off the first album. Can forget Rock the House with Del the Funky. Salaam A Leikum !
Greenkidd stfuuuuuu you dumbass kids!!! The Gorillaz were always on hip hop radio and media because of there heavy use of hip hop and this album has Vince Staples, Pusher T, De La Soul and other hip hop artists. Gtfoh!!
Did anyone else notice when each one of them spoke the other two look and listen. I never see that when groups come in. Hardly ever were their attention elsewhere
One of my first cds I ever owned was the gorillaz album given to me by my baby sitter during the summer of 2001. Still one of my all time fave bands ever.
My childhood band still going strong... tbh if I ever see them live i might cry. especially if they play some tracks from demon dayz... but I highly doubt that... 26 songs.. LAWWWWD
Even a cold Hip Hop head understands the magnitude of what these guys accomplished. This is simply incredible! I'm so proud to be one of the babies from this generation.
The Gorillaz are definitely phenomenal but this interview only happened because Pusha T is on the new album.....the Gorillaz should've been up there from there first album
André 3000 was on a song called Do Ya Thing, which was a collaboration between Gorillaz, James Murphy (of LCD Soundsystem), and André 3000 (of Outkast). It wasn't released on Plastic Beach, but rather on its own a couple of years later due to a promotion by Converse.
The first song I learnt word for word (or at least what I thought was word for word) I was 6 in 2001 lol made up a ton of lyrics was Clint Eastwood Been a fan ever since Good one hot 97!!
i remember seeing when they did the silouette tour thing, i think that was a very good move because it made the whole animation thing a secret of who was behind it all because internet still wasnt popular really i mean not enough to find research on them. i saw it on mtv playing. i mean i literally just find out this was the blur guy haha
Great interview!!! The album is poppinn!! Super coheisive concept, sonically great at the end: Sonically, we chose not have any analogue, or any samples, we chose to only use electronic instruments to do something modern, try to do something new, not futuristic, and not nostalgic, something from right here and now, so i believe when you embark on that journey, you have the possibility and potential, to create something timeless."
These guys broke the wall in the hood..made me and I’m sure many more hip hop heads try to listen other genres ...plus the amount of goats in hip hop they have featured from mf doom to pusha t and so on
The only thing I don't like about Humanz is how difficult it is to hear the Gorillaz themselves. In the older songs, when we heard guitars, they sounded like Noodle; when we heard Bass, Murdoc; and Russel when we heard drums. Now, it just sort of sounds like 2-D and his celebrity friends pushing the other members aside.
@@mikasomething Damon Albarn writes the music and is the singing voice for 2D, Jamie Hewlett is the animator and theres other collaborators for the music and voice actors who provide voices for the cartoons.
Blur should’ve made it to America... I know their Britpop, but bands like Oasis made it to America, so why not Blur? There’s nothing wrong with bringing Britishness to America. Lots of Americans love being multicultural.
Marley Pitch is my favorite raper right now. I love introspective rapers. His lyrics are very vividly painted through storytelling and great word play over electronic beats that are out of this world. His main platform now is SoundCloud but he is already doing his part to push the culture forward in a fresh way like the gorilaz. We need to shine light on the kids that are introspective in their lyrics but still make enjoyable music like: saba, Mick Jenkins, vince, Earl sweatshirt, gold link etc.
It is nice to see Gorillaz video with comment section not spammed with kids hooked on that whole "universe" of Gorillaz. They make embarrassment of Gorillaz online
I love Feel Good Inc. so i wanted to see the Gorillaz as people, not an animation so i landed here. I enjoyed this, the guys interviewing were great and the 3 guys from the group were great n interesting.I wonder if the lead singer was there? I didnt hear them say. I wanted to see the lead singer.11-3-21
the original Gorillaz website was so dope back in the day
Emcee Moniker the gorillaz were ahead of their time in terms of interactive features to further intertwine their world and ours. I felt like I was kicking it with murdoc in his winebego .
Oh yeah. Took ages to load on our telephone internet line. Lol
ever heard of wayback machine?
Dinklebob A very long and majestic description of perfection
I'd pay a lot of money, probably too much, to see Hot 97 do an animated interview with the Gorillaz
Good Idea.
Relax there is a animated Interview, but not by hot 97, i think IT was by T-online...
i hope they will
Take a tab and close your eyes guarantee you’ll be able to imagine in complete detail
How much? Like $40?
Legendary group, it was worth every min watching this interview shout-out to the Gorillaz 💯
Ebro "so when is the next season of Gorillaz coming out?"

so frickin tight this is my 1st time seeing em unanimated
Sneakerflies 101 be honest. the only reason. why hot 97 invited them is because they talk a bit about cops and trump on their album
Greenkidd stfuuuuuu you dumbass kids!!! The Gorillaz were always on hip hop radio and media because of there heavy use of hip hop and this album has Vince Staples, Pusher T, De La Soul and other hip hop artists. Gtfoh!!
You can tell a lot of effort goes into a Gorillaz song... and a lot of LSD

Noel Gallagher from Oasis is on the new Gorillaz album? Anybody else remember Blur Vs Oasis?
Put things behind, Liam on the other hand
Yea and in the end it didnt even matter because obviously Albarn won
YES!!!! Gorillaz are one of the GOAT
Forever
It's 2019, been listening since I bought the original album. Took me almost 20 yrs to see the man behind the voice. #legend
Saw them last night and they were breathtaking!! Best life experience ever..
Great interview, thanks guys.
The Gorillaz are awesome! Great interview
This interview got me real into gorillaz now !

I absolutely love this interview. This is the most comfortable I've ever seen Damon in an interview.
My brain is exploding finding out that this guy was also in Blur. Wtfffffffff

Caleb Jaaniste o...wait I messed up...when I downloaded the fall do ya thing was on there not plastic beach! Sorry
Pos I knew was in this, but Twilite Tone?! Oh my god. Didn't know he was involved! Legend from the early Common days. Love the whole thing.
hot97 got a good one right here. they do a lot of extra unnecessary uploads but this is a solid classic
I LOVE THEM!!
You have a lovely face young lady. ALLAH Bless You ! Gorillaz too !
awww thanks so much
Glad to see Damon up there for Gorillaz....good for you Hot 97
Scottie Beam...on her cell phone as the artist talks about everyone being all in their cell phone

Im just here to see what they look like!
I love the album!
Hot 97 upping their name overlay game. Good stuff guys.
And now they’re fully integrated, not releasing an album but a series of songs.
there should be a Gorillaz movie with a soundtrack.
I met the Gorillaz in Williamsburg. Great dudes!
Lucky :(
one of THE best endings to a Hot 97 interview

An ultimate collab would be Common and Gorillaz
How did they not talk about them going absent a bunch of years.
I think of 1999 as more the tail end of the boy band thing. It wasn't the definitive end of it, but certainly the beginning of the end.
