I'm pretty sure this game is a reference to a Swedish woman named Hilda Nilsson. Hilda was a serial killer who murdered 8 children. She was known as an Angelmaker. An Angelmaker is someone who accepts money in return for taking people's children born out of wedlock, or children that prominent families are embarrassed by for whatever reason. The Angelmaker then turns them into angels, to put it in a none gruesome way.
Something to keep in mind: She was the favorite child that the mother decided to keep while disposing of the excess. The kids drew her side by side with the 'devil' representing the mother. The ghost was mad about the unfairness of it and wanted her to join them in death as one of their fellow angels. Remember the opening. The ghost tried to drown her and she got the feeling that it was making her an angel just before she was revived. The mother was right in her warning about how those fairy tales all end with the entity turning out to be malicious in the end. In the end the ghost gets revenge on both the girl and the mother. The girl joins them killed by the mother with her rotting corpse in the cellar with the rest, meanwhile the mother is exposed, shamed, and 'forced' to kill her favorite child to keep her secret.
I don't believe that the ghosts ever wanted to hurt her just bring to light what happened to them. All of the warnings the mother gives are to keep you away from any evidence that was hidden as she was clearly being haunted and knew that's what they wanted. Everything they did comes off as more of a warning which would explain why they told her to run at the end. Most likely she was the favorite because she reminded the mother of her own child. I think she tried to kill her around the same time as the others but changed her mind because of that.

This was a student project during one of our courses and when it ended we as a group decided to continue down separate paths and some on other projects. So, sadly, there won't be an official continuing to Linns story.

The angel Mikael was one of the kids down there in the cellar, it's very possible he wasn't happy why he and the other kids had to die, but Linn got to grow and live on the surface. He clearly tried to kill her before, when Linn tells us in the beginning she was drowning and heard angels - she was joining the other kids, but her mom saved her. It's clear the Angelmaker is the mother, since children are considered free of sin and are "angels" by default when they die. Linn's mom was right. Mikael wasn't benevolent to begin with, but he never lied. He did say he was angry at the Angelmaker. If only Linn's mom had a heart.
The intro is beautiful. With a history of suicidal tendencies, the tone of her voice was completely relatable when it came to feeling like drowning. Then how her tone slightly brightened when she saw hope. 10/10
The game is showing a harsh reality of long ago there was such a thing called 'baby farming' where families would 'adopt' the babies and take care of them for a fee but they usually didn't take care of the kids

And to make things worse, it was sometimes very advantageous to the baby farmer if the kids didn't live long, because of the costs of long-term care VS the value of the payment they received, which often meant that they would either let the kids die... or kill them outright.
I think they're more talking about how families would sell their children to Angelmakers so that they would get killed, usually because they didn't want the child That's just my take though

Yeah, I'm kind of at that stage where Phasmo is interesting when there's new stuff to see and do, but the base game's gotten old. So I want to see some phasmo when a new update comes out but then that wanes in a week or two and need to move on.
While definitely inspired by Angelmakers in general, I think definitely leans into Dagmar Overbye a little heavier (in my opinion) as she killed one of her own children (similar to here how the main character is considered 'her child'). Additionally there was a play about her called Historien om en Mo(r)der. Mo(r)der references 'moder' (mother) and 'morder' (murder) in Danish. They probably couldn't name it Mo(r)der because it would be too obvious where the game was going. She was discovered because one of the mothers had a change of heart a day later, but Overbye became difficult when trying to retrieve the child, and the mother sent police to investigate Overbye's apartment. They found the bones of the child in her masonry heater.
Playing with Oujia board is a huuge mistake. Something could easily attach to him, it is important to always treat spirits and the passed with respect. Playing Oujia is a huge no no.
It honesty sounded like the sound score from Crimson Peak from the beginning, almost every single note and her tone of voice, sounded like it was copied.

Hi, just about to finish playing this game myself after finding it somehow in my hard drive, I think it was when I saw this playthrough. For the cellar puzzle, the answer of "how many are they" is 8 because it's the number of children portraied in the hidden room (not the handprints, there's a picture in a wall with 6 figures resembling children) + 1 (Mikael, the one who hid in that room and drew that) + 1 (Lynn, who didn't know about that room, thus came after Mikael).
7:47 recently my dog has passed (July 9th) and made me realize how little pictures I have of him. I’ll be sure to take many pictures of my other dog so it will be more easier to remember him later on in life
