Autumn in the Shire. The start of a hobbit's favorite time of year. The hard work of spring and summer are done, and the comforts that were growing are now ready to be enjoyed. Nothing left to do September through December except eat, drink, smoke, sleep, and other fun things hobbits can do together.
Oh, there's still quite a lot to do before the winter sets in. The ground needs clearing and preparing for next year's crops. The food that has been gathered must be preserved for the cold days to come. The smells of jam making, pickling and baking pervade the air, along with the smokiness of preserving meat. Nuts, fruits and mushrooms are ready to be foraged in the fields and woodlands, resplendent in their autumn colours. You can hear the thwack of wood being chopped and the grinding of grain from the mill. Having said that though, the nights drawing in means work has to finish early. So there is time for companionship in front of the fires lit in the chilly autumn evenings, time for celebrating the generosity of the land which has given us all we need for another year.

I am enjoying myself while reading books on my little rose canapé; i even have a "chair" like bilbo is telling to the dwarfs what it is to have a home. :D now i need a lace doily, because then i can have fun remembering Gandalf making fun of bilbo because of the lace top. :D Is it, that we all feel the characters like good friends who help us to carry on? Very mysteriously making me smile. Story´s are so well teaching, just great.

I grew up in a beautiful part of England that reminds me of the shire every time I return, i lived on a narrow boat last year out in nature with a wood fire burning in the winter. It was so cozy. I've been away working all year, and then in Mexico the last few months... This is the first video to truly take me home, and god i miss it, so thank you.
Just imagine being in a place like this, with the warm autumn sun shining on your face, all while the birds tweet and gentle music plays. Feels like paradise.

I think the shire is the best place to be at Halloween. I always imagine that at Halloween you have all these autumn themed activities to do. Like: apple bobbing, pumpkin carving ect... And let's not forget about the delicious food!
I homeschool my four sons. We like to have something on in the background while we are working...this is AMAZING! My 12 year old is obsessed with the LOTR books. Just the right amount of sound without being distracting...perfect for studying!
