Being a much older sister is an awesome experience. I'm happy to say that when Em was growing up, I was there for every major (and lots of minor) life event. So proud of her.
I want to thank you, my sister, and everyone else who followed her here. I'm truly blown away by the number of new subscribers I've received over the last few days as well as you sweet comments. It's incredible and humbling.
Hi Kelly, I'm one of Emily's subscribers ...and I'm also an amateur artist (I studied art at school and went onto be a registered nurse here in the UK) but, it's only since i have become disabled (with scoliosis) that my love of drawing has returned....I'm hoping to get some watercolours next week and begin painting again ...i've seen your work on Emily's channel and thought I would hop over and subscribe and learn all I can from you xxxx
Thanks Elsa! I think about light all the time. I also talk about it a lot, point out good light to my husband when we're on walks. It's probably annoying to him, but I can't help it!
Thanks so much for watching and commenting. Thanks to everybody on here--I'm used to getting a dozen comments when I post. Behold the power of my sister!
I am a subscriber to Emily's Channel, and when I started painting watercolors, I found you channel by chance. I kept telling my friend that you sounded so much like Emily...now I know why. Your tutorials are so helpful. New Subscriber!
Aww, thank you Krystin! It seems like so many people have at least one family member who is/was artistic. I'm lucky to be that person in my family (along with Em). :)
Thanks so much. I put my nail polish colors in the info box at the end--I do it for every video because I know that some of Em's viewers have found me!
I plan to do recipes here (the "food" part of Art Food Kitty), but we're dealing with lighting issues in our kitchen. Once the leaves fall, more light will come in through our skylight. This is the kind of thing you just don't anticipate when you put a channel together!
How proud your family must be of you! Not many people have this kind of talent. You can hear and see the love you have for your sister in this portrait.
Emily viewer for 3 years now and I love when Emily talks about you and your guest appearances in holiday videos. I'm 13 years older than my sister and I feel that same mother/sister bond with her. You are both exceptionally talented women.
I have followed Emily for years, and I came to your video after watching her video. I can't believe this is a "sketch" - your work is truly unbelievable. I don't think anyone (aside from artists) have any idea how much work takes to make a painting. Thank you so much for showing us your work - it was mesmerizing to watch. Much love from Venezuela.
Wow, Kelly, you are so talented. This video brought tears to my eyes. It was so sweet to see you paint your sister. I could tell the love and adoration you have for her. Thank you for sharing.
I love your descriptions of light. It's something that most of us never consciously think about though we are seeing it everyday. Also the decision process of painting may be good therapy for the indecisive like me, lol. So nice to meet Emily's sister!
Can't get over the fact that you're Emily's sister! I used to watch her makeup videos when I was younger and now that I've gotten into watercolor, I found your channel! 😄 Amazing work, btw. 😊
I've followed your sister's channel for about a year now and she had mentioned that you're an artist, but never put two and two together! You both have such great talents!
I wasn't able to see her video until after I painted the picture, but I know what you mean. I was surprised she used so much pink and purple on her eyes!
I just wanted to say thank you for inspiring me to dig out my paint and knock the dust off my paint brushes. I feel like you and Emily are kindred spirits. You are both so incredibly talented.
Fascinating to watch! Since I love Emily's make up artistry, I did want to see more of the pinks and purples of the eyeshadow, more eyeliner, false eyelashes and thicker brows. Taking the video into account next time instead of only noting the reference photo should help those things. I suspect we may be viewing Emily's color work and you may be viewing your little sister. Thanks for letting us watch an artist at work!!!
I have been watching Emily for about 2 years now and your talent amazes me. You made her look just as beautiful as she does in her videos. :D brilliant job, she's lucky to have such a talented sister.
There is something hypnotic about this work. EXTRAORDINARY! The brush appears to be an extension of your hand and fingers. I subscribed to enjoy more - Thank you.
I loved watching this come together. What a COOL project! I love seeing her eyes "come alive" as you added detail. Stunning. You are such a talented artist.
Wow! Its crazy to think that you did the painting of Emily three years ago! I am a long time follower of your sister and have followed your blog as well the last couple of years. So happy to see that you have a channel now! Please know you are amazingly talented, and seeing your videos makes me want to dig out my dusty watercolors that I haven't touched since high school art!
just discovered emily's channel yesterday and have been going through and watching old videos and saw the collaboration video she posted. you are both very talented.
I can't even put exactly what I want to say into words right now! So absolutely stunning and beautiful. The small details make such a difference. You are so talented, love it!
Absolutely stunning! I've watched hundreds of Emily's videos and you NAILED IT! I am blown away by your talent. Thank you so much for sharing it with us :)
I am a huge fan of your sister Emily and I always love when she shows your work on her channel. You are so talented and amazing. Thank you so much for this amazing video!!
Kelly , Thank you so much for a wonderful video... and for educating us about water color painting along the way! I so enjoyed watching Emily's face come to life on the page. It is truly remarkable. Thanks again!...♥...Jackie ( arrived here from Beauty Broadcast )
Emily has it up on her Facebook (Beauty Broadcast) page right now, I think. I'm usually hesitant to put them side by side, because all I can see are the flaws!
This blew me away. So much talent in one family. Of course I subscribed. Your Siamese cat put me over the top. Love the relationship you have with your sister.
Aww! I appreciate your comment so much, fellow watercolor painter! It's definitely not for everyone, so I always feel a kinship with anyone who paints this way. Do you have any work online?
Fantastic! I didn't think a video of someone completing a watercolor painting would hold my attention the way yours did! Checking out your other videos now...
Wow, you are amazingly talented. This actually made me tear up a little as my grandmother was a painter like you...miss her tons! Im watching this through Emily, but super happy I found your channel and look forward to seeing more of your amazing work! xo
Awesome!! Emily looks so life like in your painting!! So beautiful!! I really enjoyed watching how water painting was done and how tones, light and darkness, contours could be achieved using only water colours!!

So sweet of you to say, Cheyanne! Thank you. I'm glad people are enjoying what I do. Putting these videos together is a lot of work! :)
Aww, thanks so much for following us both! She means the world to me.
Yay, thanks for checking out my work!

I'm truly overwhelmed by the response this video has had--thank you, and thanks to all of Emily's viewers for supporting me!
I was an art teacher, so I had to be able to teach almost every kind of medium, but watercolor has always been #1 for me
It certainly is! I'd love to paint Em in an over-the-top, art-makeup look sometime.

I have a sketch or two of her that I could dig up...she was maybe 5 years old in one and supercute. Thank you for your kind words! I love her so much.
I really do adore her, and I love painting her, too. She has such a fun face.

Your parents must be so proud to have two such accomplished daughters. Your work is lovely.

You could've stopped at the 5:00 minute mark and I would've been impressed. You are truly an amazing artist Kelly!
I will most definitely do some beginner videos soon!
15 years older!!! My gosh!!! You look amazingly beautiful! I would have never guessed that! ....Love your art!
