    Mileage Mike, thanks for posting. This is my hometown. Born there in ‘46 & left in June ‘57 for South Florida. My heart has always been in & near Fayetteville, great childhood memories. Had family scattered around, most gone now, elders died off, younger ones mostly moved elsewhere. Much of downtown has changed over the years. I was hoping to get up that way sometime this year but depends on covid-19’s plans.

    My mother's hometown. She left in the 60's for DC where myself and siblings were born and raised, but Fayetteville has always been like a second home and we visited often. I still have family there. I actually lived there for a couple years (2004/05) working for Cumberland County.

      Hey Leo, I don't want to be around crowds. I'm a local native Piney from South Jersey who enjoys nature. Stop being so judgemental against northerns and there's no need to be offended. I'm a rebel at heart and the south should have won for gods sake. I hate city folks especially from NY. I'm looking into moving to Fayetteville but not in a low income area. This Yankee piney has a retirement pension and a great selling business and I'm get Social Security now too. But based on the videos of Fayetteville it looks like there's not much to do or going on there.

    I have to say Fayetteville is one of the enormous cities to tour in the homestate of North Carolina. In my opinion I love visiting the cities. But I don't want to move to the cities. Sometimes I view cities as dangerous places to live. But I love visiting Fayetteville. And they say it's known for Fort Bragg of the army and navy. I think cultures from other countries all over the earth come here as well. You would need a road map to help you know your way around this city. I seen videos on TH-cam where they do international folk festivals of other cultures from other countries because they come here to perform.

    Another comment i want to make about this city is the events of the zombie walks. Now, I seen videos on TH-cam about the zombie walks that takes place in downtown. But my question on my mind is how do they get their zombie costumes so real looking just like in the movies? Because I never seen such real costumes during Halloween.

    Its a big town but where are the people? It looks abandoned. And no traffic either. It doesn't give a good impression of the area. Here in NJ there is nothing but people and traffic in all our towns. Fayetteville looks lonesome, dead and boring as hell. And where are the residential homes?

    • @MileageMikeTravels
      @MileageMikeTravels  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Fayetteville's large population is mostly due to the large military base Ft. Bragg being annexed by the city. The downtown is actually quite small relative to its size on paper. Also you have to factor in the time of the video with most people staying at home.

    • @leonation89
      @leonation89 4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Barry, Fayetteville is not NYC or Jersey sir. You don't compared a small Southern city to a Northern city. Especially to where you are, as Mike stated it was early in the morning and people were either at work or at home being safe. Remember, this is a pandemic going on.
