On sales we are collecting gst from the customer and then paying it to govt so that's why it is not double taxation.

Yes exactly.
It's the customer who are actualy getting taxed (burden) in case of GST.

Double taxation means tax on tax
If u collect from customers and pay to govt
U will get credit and only customer will be taxed once
