this is all beautiful. the towpath trail runs all the way to downtown cleveand and all the way south to new philadelphia, ohio. the norther Canal Way Visitor center in Cuyahoga Hts. with a towpath trail, reclaimed canal and wetlands and a working trestle railroad bridge (roughly E. 49th area) is also amazing to see. So amazing, that when the Rolling Stones were in Cleveland June 2024, Mick Jagger walked the trail and posted a picture with the trestle bridge!
@hermanmunster Thank you for sharing this info! Very cool! It was such a beautiful place & we've had so many people give us great feedback on our video. We take pride when our viewers like you write in with nice comments - it makes us feel like our video gives justice for such a beautiful place. Again, thanks for watching & thanks for writing & and giving us more cool info. Have a great week & safe travels!☺️ Deena & Dan
@hermanmunster I actually went to Mick Jagger's Instagram & was able to view the picture of him at the trestle bridge (along with other photos in the area)! Love it! So cool!🥰✌️
Beautiful park. Ohioan's do not realize what a beautiful state they live in. It's stunning to have such a beautiful national park in the middle of 2 large metropolitan area's...Cleveland & Akron.
I moved to Ohio twice, I know how beautiful it is ..I finally have learned how to enjoy the 4 seasons at almost 50 ..coming from a Caribbean island I think I could never live again in a one season place.."Ohio Find it here" logo is Perfect 😊
Great to see our old stomping grounds before it was a national park. The ledges back in the day were called whips ledges. A favorite place for boy scout camping and climbing over the rocks.
Wow!! This is so cool! We knew Cuyahoga is a fairly new NP but we did not know about the previous name being Whips Ledges - very cool to learn this! We can see where it would be a great spot for boy scouts! It certainly is beautiful! Just wish we had had time to ride our bikes on so many of the trails but maybe next time. Thanks for watching & thanks for writing in & sharing this info with us!👍😊
It became a national park, thanks to the late Congressman Seiberling. If he had not worked hard to protect the land, guaranteed it would all be developments and gated communities today. Back in the 1960s it still had a small town feel and was very quaint.....sad to see all the farms and families mostly gone, but overall good that the area is now protected federal land.
@hermanmunster714 that's some very interesting information, thank you for sharing. We've noticed a lot of farms across the country are going away. We asked a few farmers why and they told us it's because the kids don't want to farm, they want to do something else, so the family farm gets sold. I agree with you, it's sad to see. Dan
@Bearinsky1 WOW! Thank you so much! Comments like this mean so much to us & are very much appreciated! You made our week!🥰 Also, thanks for your service to the park!👍 Take care! Deena & Dan
People should also visit parts of the Cleveland Metro Parks called The Emerald Necklace. It's probably 100 miles long surrounding the Cleveland area. It's always nice seeing my hometown area, thanks!
@philzail2532 Thanks for watching & writing in & providing this info! Sadly, we did not have time to visit ThexEmerald Necklace area but we hope to someday! We are so happy you enjoyed the video - makes us feel so good! Have a great 4th & enjoy your week!❤️🤍💙 Deena & Dan
That was actually Brandywine Creek you were next to on your Brandywine Falls Gorge trail hike. The Cuyahoga River is just a bit west of Brandywine Falls area. Well done correcting yourself on the name of the park. CVNP 👍Ledges is one of my favorite hikes there. Blue Hen Falls hike is fun too. A bit more difficult with some elevation. The wife and I love CVNP and are in the park probably 1-2 times per week. Very nice video. If you ever get back to the park check out Pine Grove trail and Kendall Lake area. Rent some bikes and ride the tow path trail. The train ride is also fun. Have lunch at Fishers in Peninsula. People enjoy a visit to Szalay’s Farm and Market. And don’t forget the ice cream at Country Maid. Thank you for your video.
@tims4558 Thanks so much for watching & writing in! We thoroughly enjoyed our time in beautiful CVNP & area. How lucky are y'all to be able to visit as much as you do! Unfortunately, we didn't have time to do the Blue Hen Falls hike & now with the great tips of other things we missed out on you told us about, it's all more reason to go back some day!!👍 Thanks again for watching & reaching out! We hope you have a great week! Safe travels!😊 Deena & Dan
Hey Rick, hope you're doing well. We had a lot of fun at Cuyahoga N.P. The one thing I would do different is to bring bikes or even better, Ebikes. Cuyahoga is spread out and there are a lot of trails to ride. Glad we were able to visit it. Dan
