We were embarrassed that after all of the traveling we have done, we I had never visited the national park in our own backyard! Have you been to Cuyahoga Valley National Park?
Awesome video! We live less than 4 miles from Brandywine Falls (by the way that was Brandywine Creek) we used to hike somewhere in the Valley almost everyday until Covid ruined that because while there was nothing to do everyone went to the Valley and you had to drive around until a parking spot opened up and when you did get to park every square inch of the park was loaded with people. But you did hit a lot of the good spots in the Valley. There are a ton of other places within the national park and Cleveland Metroparks and Summit County Metroparks border the National Park that also have tons of features. Also I’m pretty sure you can make way all the way from Lake Erie to the Ohio River. Good Job featuring our park!
2 hours? Yeah you should've gotten the second wine!!! Shelly, I'm with you on the heights thing, and I know exactly the feeling in your tummy that you are talking about. I totally get it too!!
That’s awesome! Glad we aren’t the only ones that took so long to visit our only National Park! Hope you enjoy it as much as we did! Let us know if you find anything else we should do the next time we go! Safe travels! - Mike and Shelley
Excellent video my husband and I will be there second week of September. I’m not nearly in as good of shape or as young as Shelly K so I really appreciate this, knowing what I will be able to do looks beautiful. I’m excited to see it.
Thank you so much for watching and leaving us a comment. We really appreciate the feedback! Hope you enjoy your time at Cuyahoga, it is beautiful! Safe travels! - Mike and Shelley K!
This was our first stop on our journey!! It was a great park!! Joe has a harder time hiking down and I have a harder time hiking up!! Great video guys!!
Welcome to the channel. We are glad you joined us. We enjoyed the NP and all the trails. We hope you guys have a great time while you are there. Thanks for watching! Mike & Shelley Kaye
Pretty park. Nice hike and bike path. You guys should get to the VA Creeper if you ever get a chance. That's a wonderful ride. Thanks for taking us on this adventure with you. This is a park we will definitely have to visit.
The wife has bad knees she can’t go downhill either and I’m so bad out of shape. I don’t like walking uphill another great video guys when we’re camping at West branch I’m gonna take a ride over and check this out. Looks like a very nice place. Keep up the hard work always enjoy your videos.
While I have done the Brandywine Trail once several years ago, this past summer was the first time that I had spent any time in the rest of the park. Plan on visiting different sections of the park for longer periods of time this summer.
We definitely are going back to ohio and going to venture out we will have to put this on our list by the time we get there I’ll have worked my way up to a more moderate hike but I live falls . I wish I could bike 10 miles
From Youngstown, driving home from Cleveland airport on i80 and went past a sign that read Cuyahoga Valley National Park. It took a few miles before I realized it said “National Park”. So after some research we returned with bikes and road the tow path. Now when we visit Cleveland we make it a point to stop in Peninsula, OH and have a bite at the Winking Lizard.🦎
Yeah that bike path is really nice! I’ve been to a Winking Lizard but not that one. I wonder if it’s a chain 🤔. We really appreciate you sharing! - Mike and Shelley
Thank you for pointing that out.! Yes I realized that I misspoke after the the fact. It’s a tributary of Cuyahoga River. That’s why it’s called Brandywine and not Cuyahoga falls / duh. lol
I have the Rad City 5 step thru model. It’s a great bike. The throttle is really powerful so I had to get use to use it gently. I felt like I was going to pop a wheelie at first. lol. Thank for asking! - Mike and Shelley
I live in Cincinnati, but have never visited this national park. That will change next week because I’m going to spend three days there. I’m trying to visit as many national parks as possible and can’t believe I haven’t been to this one yet either.
@@campinwiththeconfers I have been to Acadia and it was beautiful. We did some good hikes and did a boat ride around the island. The bee hive trail was excellent. Get to the park early in the morning. It can get crowded and they close the gate once capacity is reached. We stayed at a KOA campground and had a campsite right on the water. We sat out at night and watched the harbor seals from our camp chairs. The mosquitoes were pretty bad but only at night.
@@mikejordan9220 that is where we are staying and we got the last water site! Thanks for the tips! How did you like the boat ride? Is there a company you would recommend?
@@campinwiththeconfers That’s good you got the water site. It is worth the extra cost. I don’t remember the name of the boat company, but it was also a nice relaxing ride. You will need to bring a jacket at least it was cool when we were there. We saw lots of Eagles and seals and a lot of nice homes around the island.
Oh yes we have been to concerts at Blossom! Great outdoor venue! We have been to a Winking Lizard but I don’t know it’s a chain or what because it wasn’t in that area. Thank for sharing! We really appreciate it!
You got some incorrect info. Not ALL the people that work the train are volunteers. My niece worked on the train loading bikes and was DEF paid. Not sure who is/who isn’t. But def some get paid. We don’t live far so we’ve been there multiple times. It’s a beautiful park. Thanks for the video…
The guy inside the train that told about the area as the train went through told us that they are all volunteer and I think we was referring to the people that did that job were volunteers. I should have made that clear. Thanks for clarifying that. It is a beautiful area! - Mike and Shelley
@campinwiththeconfers When I was younger my parents would take us kids to the covered bridge and let's us play in the creek. Mom would bring lunch for us and we would sit there and eat.
We live very close to CVNP. Probably visit once or twice a week. We love to hike the various trails. Ledges Trail and Blue Hen Falls Trail are two of our favorites. We often ride the towpath as well. It’s tradition to give a whoop or holler when you go through the tunnels. Ok, maybe it’s just my tradition, but you just gotta. Ok, now please take this comment with a grain of salt…. You filmed in a National Park (post October 2023) for commercial (TH-cam) use and you flew a drone in a National Park and posted that video as well? If this video gets reviewed you could be contacted by not only the NPS, but the FAA as well. I hope you have all the required permits and certifications (Filming permit, drone use in A NP permit, Part 107 FAA pilot certification). If not, you could be subject to fines. I know the FAA will educate first, but I don’t know how NPS is enforcing. Sorry, if this comes across nasty, I just want to make sure you guys know this information. I enjoy your channel and do not want to see you get in costly fines.
Thank you for the comment. We are glad you enjoy our videos. As far as the permit we have found different parks have different rules. We did contact the park and got clearance for the video. For the drone footage we have our 107 and have my settings set so I can’t take flight in a restricted zone. We always double check with LAANC before we take off. Thank you for looking out for us! We do appreciate it.
Hey there! Thanks for watching and taking the time to leave us a comment! Makes total sense to call it the vally as a local and a lot easier to say! lol! Stay safe! - Mike and Shelley

I have been to Cuyahoga National Park thousands of times. I ❤ it! Best hiking and biking anywhere around. Takes me roughly an hour to get there.

Just found y'all as we're about to visit the park. We're from Dayton. Love the cocktail hour.

Thanks Ed! We really appreciate your encouragement and support! Hopefully that kitchen project will be wrapped up so you make it out next year.
Very nice! We’ve been there twice never taken the train though. FYI downhill stinks! -Mike
The train was kind of a one and done thing for us. The Mikes agree on the knees!

It’s not to far from Atwood where the Glampout is either. And e-bikes make it much easier! Thanks for watching guys!
Good morning. I plan on visiting there one day
It’s definitely worth checking out. Give yourself a few days if you want to hit all the hot spots. Thanks for watching.

I didn’t realize so many of the rich and famous had homes there.
Lunch at the Winking Lizard is a must or a concert at Blossom Music Center.

I proposed to my wife at brandywine falls , 7am on a Saturday no one around it was perfect 😊
That is awesome! Thank you so much for sharing that with us. Have you returned since then?
I have been to the park many times even before it was a National Park. Down hill is harder for me.
Gary taking my side! Thanks Gary!
