Apologies for all the comments but for me, this was one of the most thorough, interesting discussions covering such a wide array of important topics I have experienced from any rugby podcast anywhere in the world. It struck me how fortunate we rugby lovers are, to be able to simply click on the YT app and be presented with such quality offerings. Outstanding, thank you.
Altyd n plesier om na Hendrik Cronje te luister.Dankie vir die goeie onderwerpe wat aangeraak word MW.Die finansiele toekoms van SA Rugby en SuperSport maak my baie benoud.Daar gaan groot veranderinge kom.Hoop dit is positief.
Easy because Elrich has more of a Rassie Bok mould, bigger, ball carrier, lineout option and crosses the adv line...my gut feel is that Cam is more in the Kwagga mould but is bigger, when or if Kwagga gets injured then Cam will be called. IF Cam wasn't injured then this might have been all moot such an outstanding player
I know they do not play same positions, but performance wise, Hanekom kicked down the door consistently, while Wessels did not do much, could not even make Bulls 23 many times. So why not take Hanekom on tour instead of Wessels, Boks already have Marco as 3rd hooker option. Imho, Rassie missed a big opportunity to send a timely message that good performances lead to Bok call ups, even more so because Hanekom missed out with injury in June.
AB, France and Ireland bringing new caps into their teams during November... not the Boks. Strange, I thought the Ireland and RC series were time for old dogs to do the job, and use Nov tour for new players, why Rassie going the other way?
Fascinating but quite disturbing discussion (outstanding searching questions responded to in such a detailed manner) about SARU’s financial dealings; let us passionate Bok & RSA supporters hope that the financial involvement of a profit-driven foreign corporate doesn’t undermine the rich culture, spirit, traditions & character of SA rugby in all its weird & wonderful forms. Sports governing bodies, particularly rugby, have a pretty solid track record of being remarkably naive in financial & corporate dealings with such entities, which tend to have short-term profit & ROI motives which drive their every move. Turning to this one, the numbers being bandied about seem pretty paltry.

@@SeanLarkan Thank you Sean. Hendrik is such a knowledgable person who considers every word carefully. A privilege to speak to him.
Pleased you raised the question of the exclusion of Cameron Hanekom from the northern series, which seems startling to most (all?) of us supporters.

Totally agree, well put! Good analogy - he literally dies boot down doors when he plays; what a unique talent
Hanekam vs Wessels: Julle vergelyk nie appels met appels.
Dit gaan juis oor die appel wat in die plek van die suurlemoen in die sak van vrugte behoort te wees wat gaan toer? 😉

Was wondering about that myself. Also agree with you regarding Hanekom and Wessels.

Very good comment.
