A word on the Sony 90mm. I just had it here and the autofocus is unusable for product close-ups. It mostly works, but it is fairly slow and the focus breathing is insane. I tried it out for two days and then send it back. Very sad, because the footage looks amazing. If you are fine with only using manual focus and working around the limitations that come with having no autofocus during moving shots, it's a great lens. But you can see it's age overall.
What I ordered instead and I know it's insane: The new 70-200 F4 G2 Macro. 0.5 magnification should be more than enough for product shots, it has a very good zoom range and virtually no focus breathing. Plus it's compatible with the focus breathing correction in newer Sony cameras. It'll arrive next week and I can't wait to try it out. I hope it's worth it, having cost more than double of the 90mm.

Buy the Sony 90mm macro! I actually did a video on mine at the end of 2022. I love that lens. As you mention, it's great for headshots and portraits too. I probably shot over 250 headshots with it in 2023.The way the AF/MF adjustment is set up is really nice too. Keep up the great work - love your stuff.
Yeah! by the way, first time I hat this lens in my handy, I was wondering where I can switch to AF 😂 never heard about the focus ring switch..
