This is true! It would speed the cycle process up tremendously, but you never know what other organisms could be on it, such as worms, sponges, algae, pests, etc. I personally just like to start fresh for that reason.
@@SaltFishTV Did you have any of those in your tank? If you plan on transferring any of the corals or other livestock, you would still be transferring over potentially unwanted pests unless you've had the tank for a while and have never experienced any of the above.
@@thisisit7916 Not necessarily, that mostly goes for flat worms and those types of pests. I always dip my corals no matter what, even when transferring. I am more concerned about algae or sponges, as in a newly established system it’s easier for them to take foot hold and spread.
